I looked at the sign at all the different types of candy and many of them sounded great! The woman working there offered me a free sample of any of the candy and I tried a mango piece. I didn't find the flavour to be as strong as I like but we decided to get 3 bags for $11 (or $4/bag). I got a bag for friends and I tried the peanut brittle and fizz candy. The bag looks small but you get lots for 100 grams. I liked the fizz candy as it wasn't too fizzy. The peanut brittle was good too and great for crushing and putting on ice cream. Great food truck and location to enjoy during a walk along the seawall. The woman working was really friendly too. Would be great to see more candy trucks!

However, there is no shortage of candy in this city, even organic all-natural dye-free candy. Just look to Whole Foods, Save-on or other bulk foods places around the city and in the GVR. What they do well though is service. How many stores/vendors around this city are giving out free samples? I mean, seriously, do you know of any? I don't. Even places like Kernels and Starbucks don't do it often, and overpriced candy vendors at Granville Island could take some advice from this business. So while my marine life-shaped marshmallows were delicious and cheaper than Butter bakery at only $4, I don't see myself stopping by this truck often as I find it easier to walk into the nearest natural foods store. However, as a person who appreciates good customer service, I will be coming back to buy some product once in a while. Perhaps this business could sell their product in Whole Foods/Choices? Easier access for me!:)

It lets you get to the vendors faster before the place gets packed. You definitely have to come into this market with the mindset you're paying more for the experience, because the food does have an inflated price and you certainly have to hunt for which ones are actually worth it. I would suggest avoiding the pork belly stand as you really get slivers for $10+ dollars. The grilled squid is a great buy and the skewers also have a good taste. We really liked that there are chicken heart skewers as they are hard to come by and were ecstatic when they had a great taste to them. I was sad to learn that this may be the last year the markets are happening, but I'm hopeful they will continue is some shape or form considering the amount of tourism and money this attraction draws in for the city.

No long line ups here, no uniformed Japanese speaking staff, no photos of hotdogs with different toppings, and yes, no photo of Ice Cube too. There was only a friendly smile from the owner and one unique item offering which was the tandoori dog, choice of either kosher beef or kosher chicken. For $5.50, it was just plain and ordinary with only a hint of tandoori flavour basted on the hotdog. Despite the onions being nicely cooked in butter, bread rightly toasted, it was just boilerplate okay. It lacked creativity, texture and presentation, the wow factor. I was expecting toppings as chutney, yogurt, maybe paneer, or some curry infused side condiments, but there was only mustard, ketchup, and bbq sauce, typical for the dirty water dog varieties, not a stand named as Tandoori Tikka Dog. Sigh. Didn't mean to be the bearer of bad news here, but I'm giving it 2.5 stars and hoping they could improve as there's still lots of room left for more ethnic fusion street foods here in Vancouver.
