It can be a real challenge to be someone who is dairy free but lovesssss ice cream cake. Rocky…read morePoint Ice Cream takes that challenge completely away. I was able to order a custom dairy free, and gluten sensitive cake for a birthday in no time. With a week's notice and a short form filled out, I was given the most perfect cake for my event. One of the things I love most about Rocky Point Ice cream is that the plant based flavours are almost undetectable from regular dairy flavours. They are delicious, creamy and packed with flavour. I make a point of buying pints from this location now rather than getting non-dairy ice creams from the grocery stores because I love the quality and service I get each time I visit. This place is great to hit up if you want to go for a walk in the park and then head for a sweet treat afterwards in their cute little shop. I highly recommend!

It's always flooded with people especially on weekends but the service is pretty fast as there is ample staff to address your order while you are tasting many other flavours. The ambience is okay. Pricing and quantity and quality is nice and I guess that's why it's popular. I loved the blueberry cream cheese flavour a lot. I also tried plant based coconut which is also gluten free. It's okay in taste. Their cookie and cream is also good. We were in hurry so could not taste other flavours. Staff is very friendly. It's definitely a must try place to visit if you are in the area.

Vashti Rose has lots of interesting dairy and vegan ice cream flavours. They regularly rotate in…read moredifferent flavours and post the daily selection of their Instagram. It wasn't very busy when I visited but I visited late evening in December which is definitely not peak ice cream time. They have a few tables outside but the shop is pretty small. I asked if they did samples and the staff told me they did not (which is fine), but they could add a mini taster scoop on top of my main scoop at no cost. So I got the vegan sticky toffee pudding ice cream with a taster of gingerbread. I thought the texture of the vegan ice cream was great, and I really liked the large chunks of cake/gingerbread in both ice creams. I love sticky toffee pudding, so I was really excited that they had a vegan version of it. Maybe the flavour just hit especially hard, but I might even like their vegan ice cream more than the mainstream places in Vancouver.

Strange is that above the ice cream shop there is a large sign stating Pro-fitness. Anyways, they have good selections of flavors. I got the blueberry crumble cheesecake to try. It was very good. I am guessing everything is made in house. I did find the ice cream less creamy or less smooth compared to other ice cream places; however the flavor is good. There are tables with two seats each outside the ice cream shop. Looks like they don't have a lot of competitions around the area.

We just discovered Pearl Fever Tea House sometime during the summer last year and after introducing…read morea friend of ours to it, she seems to be a fan of them now. When we met up with her in Coquitlam and talked about going for bubble tea, she suggested Pearl Fever and so that's where we went.  Last time we went, it was during a BOGO promotion. Since there was no promotion this time, I had a closer look at their regular menu this time. Their offerings include: milk teas, green & black teas, specialty drinks, fruit smoothies, milky smoothies and flavoured milks.  There is also a "Create Your Own Smoothie" option where you can pick 2 flavours from a list of flavors. After picking your two flavours the next step is to choose a base from the following options: water, green tea, black tea, milk tea, whole milk, oat milk, soy milk, almond milk, cream  You can then customize your drink with different Blend Ins (eg. Oreo) or Shots (eg.Honey). Our daughter decided to try this "Create Your Own Smoothie" option. She chose Peach and Mango as her two flavor, water as her base, and lychee jelly as a topping. She loved it.  Our friend chose Tofu Pudding and I chose Honey Peach Soda. Good, solid choices but next time I might try the "Create Your Own Smoothie" option.  I was overjoyed to see that they allow people to bring in their own reusable cups and that they offer a $0.10 discount for it!  Service: Good Parking: Plentiful and free Location: #340 - 3025 Lougheed Hwy., Coquitlam, BC

The drink was reeeeally tasty. The consistency and sweetness was good. It want to starchy at all and the taro had a nice flavour. It will be my go to drink at pearl fever now. The only thing is, the pearls aren't sweet. The girl who served me was the sweetest and even left me a message on my cup!

Over the past year and a bit this has become one of our favourite breakfast places. But it is more…read morethan just a place for breakfast or brunch. It is also a fantastic spot to work if you wanna have a café setting because their pastries and bake goods are absolutely fantastic. In fact last year for Christmas, we bought one of their Christmas cake options which proved to be super popular with the family. What I love about this location is the decor. On one side it is a simple industrial warehouse. But it has that post modern feel with all of the live plants. The live plants is what I love and the tall ceiling for the plants to fully grow. Though if they are looking for something else, which could really bring this to the top, it would be to have a fish tank. A fish and or water feature around the massive plant island in the middle of the dinning area would be chefs kiss. Of course, what about the food? From here, I find the food here is excellent. Sometimes the flavour combinations are a little weird. But that's typical for the Vancouver foodie scene. Vancouver food scene is a fusion hybrid of local ingredients mixed with traditions from cultures from other places around the world. But the bottom line is the portions are a good size. The platters in particular are large and would feed a very hungry person. You definitely get your moneys worth. You don't get much table service once you are done with your order. But that is all right because of it size and volume for the amount of people who come through. I am totally happy with the self serve station, which could be enhanced and the large setting with all of the very mature plants. If I would offer advice to anyone it would be this. If you are going to be there on the weekend arrive before 9 AM. People start lining up at 10 to 15 minutes before the store officially opens. Plus I find is easier to take the street parking rather than playing with Faith trying to back out with customers who are not paying attention.

I did get a spoonful of the glorious whipped cream on top of my daughter's mango croissant. $8.50 Heaven. We thought it was worth every penny! The only gluten free item they offered on this day was a chocolate walnut brownie. Rich and pretty satisfying! We didn't mind a bit waiting for our specialty lattes but the flavors were underwhelming. Snow Velvet Latte $6.20 Double shot espresso, regular milk, vanilla syrup, velvet cream, cocoa dusting. My iced 16 ozs dark chocolate mocha was also not a memorable one. In spite of the unsatisfying lattes and lack of GF items, I'm still fond of the energy that fills in this cafe so I'll probably return.
