The only positive thing I can say regarding my visit for an abstraction with Dr. W. Jeffrey Battles was that of the 25 plus dentists that I called he was the only one able to get me in that afternoon everyone else was booked. Looking back I wonder if this should have been my warning sign but due to the amount of pain I was in I overlooked it and or thought nothing of it. Being a new patient I was expecting the front desk ladies to be welcoming, warm and inviting of which they were none. They gossiped, ignored my entrance and then seemed bothered when I finally addressed them to tell them I had an appointment and who I was. The wait wasn't long and I was walked into the procedure room where the dental assistant (front desk girl) pushed play on the DVD and asked that I watch this short clip. She walked out so if I had questions there was no one to ask (and I had questions). She walked back in the room with the Dentist right behind her who made it a point to tell me he was missing lunch due to my unexpected appointment/emergency. I wasn't sure if I should be saying thank you or sorry at that point. I was then asked to sign a paper that basically stated no-one in that office was responsible for: and listed a whole page of possible scenerios (mine ended up being #42 or #48 on that long list... (Kidding) but all kidding a side the verbage in that paperwork sounded as if this particular Doctor may have already faced potential lawsuits or complaints because they were very careful to cover every last detail of possible endings... That should have been sign number #2 but again the pain outweighed judgment. Dr J BAttles bedside manners left much to be desired and already before a single instrument touched my mouth a woman's extinct forewarned me that this experience would be bad and I regret not listening to myself or the warning signs. However if this review helps just 1 person than I can honestly say it was worth it. Without using too many words or taking up more of your time i will tell you that my trip here was by far the worst dental experience I have ever experienced in my 48 years of life. My mouth was cut and bleeding in 3 different spots-I had been manhandled and felt as if someone had beat the crap outta me and left me for dead. I was baffled at how this man could have any patients and quietly cried tears of pain while he leaned all his body weight onto me while prying out a stubborn and broken tooth. I wish I could say things ended there but unfortunately 2 weeks after the appointment I was still sore and my cuts in and on my mouth were not completely healed and the pain although much less than the initial day was still very present and my only comfort was knowing my review might save the next person from being his victim. I went in for reinsertion of a previously installed crown from decades back in time. Instead of a…read morere-installed crown, the dentist recommended I should get a new crown (more expensive and probably painful). The dental worker attempted to take an Xray of the subject tooth; she apparently had a "problem" with the machine taking a snapshot ... I counted at least ten attempts for her to take a picture meaning I was exposed to radiation for that many times. I don't believe there was any film placed behind the tooth which makes me suspicious. When the dental doctor returned, the woman Xray worker had a big smile on her face ... no comment was made about the Xray zapping activity I experienced. I have to wonder where the Xray machine was pointing. Do you know when you feel you are not liked? The dentist rambled about how he knows everything that goes on around town and I sensed I wasn't that well liked in town for some reason. I cancelled the crown replacement. Another thing, I arrived with a crown that was in perfect condition. But while I was there, someone placed a small hole through the crown. The doctor went on to explain why the crown came out because of the hole allowing in bacteria. If you are not getting good vibes or strange things are happening, stay away from this place. I never got the crown re-installed. If anyone knows of another dentist to try, I'd appreciated to find out who that might be. I'm still wondering what part of my body is going to fall off because of all the Xray attempts made.

I drove over 3 hours to get there and because I got stuck in traffic I was refused to be seen. The receptionist knows I live over 2 hours away and and that sometimes there is traffic problems but yet she told me it was my fault for not choosing an earlier appointment so they would have extra time. How was I supposed to know that? I've been going to this place for over 20 years!
