I am pleased to learn that this very talented massage therapist is back on the scene. I have not…read morevisited the new space yet but I am giving 5 stars because I was a regular and long term client when Ms. Purcell worked for a successful area spa. It was a few years after cancer treatment when I began to experience painful symptoms d/t complications. Joanie became part of my 'team' in my efforts to feel 100% and improve my quality of life. This was my first experience with massage. Friends would often talk about the relaxation benefits but for years, I thought it was more of a luxury expenditure. However, the techniques that Joanie applied readily demonstrated excellent training and experience. It became 'my hour' to help my body and mind heal and she partnered me in this. As an RN, I told her about my condition and she wanted to understand it. The experience in the quiet and safe space she provided allowed me to feel that I was taking a very proactive step in getting better. What could I measure? Less pain, my daily walks went longer, increased flexibility and better focus, more hope. All of this occurred over a period of time with the positive built connection between two women who wanted to help heal 'me', both healers, having a job to do. Lest I sound too serious, let me also add that over time, the laughs we shared before and after session had me leaving each time with a smile on my face, laughing in the car as I drove away. The bikes were so close together and during Covid it was a challenge to workout on the bikes. I was promised that there would be new bikes -- instead they just kept putting more equipment around the bikes, making it harder to get around. The steam room never worked and was promised a sauna -- ever happened. Then the duct tape started appearing on the equipment. It is standard in all gyms that people wipe down the machine after use -- and here there is no sign, and way too many people do not wipe the equipment after use.

Towels seem to be the distinguishing factor--a premium club standard--but they were small and threadbare. Now I bring my own towels to Planet Fitness, and for under $20 I'm getting the same workout and a (much) cleaner shower. I too have pics of mold in SSAC showers, which I took to the front desk when they questioned it. In the end, SSAC was able to charge my card for months though I stopped going. It was my fault, because I'm bad about canceling memberships or returning things at stores. But then finally my card expired and when SSAC couldn't get more from it, I received an obnoxious, over-the-top letter from a lawyer. No doubt, they're technically in the right ("per the agreement"), but after years of patronage, legal threats strike me as bad form. It would have been better to ask if there was a reason I left, and whether they might do anything to bring me back.

My 10 year old and I have been consistently doing the biocharger, PEMF, and RASHA therapies and have felt a cumulative lift in the respiratory and yeast related symptoms we were experiencing. My son does the RASHA (scaler energy sound therapy) for 75 minutes once per week and feels immediate relaxation and focus during and after the session, which is something he often struggles with. Most recently, I've been doing the Emsella chair (pelvic floor stimulation) and feel stronger after only 4 sessions. Nola and Rita are incredibly attentive and extremely knowledgeable in these modalities and truly understand what it means to heal the body deeply. They treat every client like family, and I'm so glad we found them.

For at least 10 years, I've suffered the physical effects of daytime and nighttime jaw clenching. For several years, I've been experiencing regular 24 hour/day migraines for several days at a time. My headaches, neck and shoulder pain were interfering with my ability to sleep for more than a few hours each night. After the first therapy session, my pain level went from a 10 down to a 2 (on a scale in 1-10). During the 3 weeks following that session, I experienced 2 headaches that each lasted for part of a day and were treatable with ibuprofen. My jaw felt relaxed in a way that I hadn't felt in more than 10 years - the pain, pressure and tension were relieved. My sleep started to improve after 5 years of poor sleep, as I could suddenly fall asleep again after most wakings. A few weeks later, I returned for another session. I can't rate my pain now because the pain is gone. I haven't had a headache or even felt the suggestion of an oncoming headache. I feel occasional tightness in my neck. No headaches. My jaw continues to feel relaxed. I continue to sleep well and I can't believe I'm writing that! Steve's craniosacral therapy work treats the whole person. His work is intuitive and expert. He cares so greatly that I feel healed and that his work long-lasting. Two sessions with Steve have changed the quality of my life.
