Kelly is an awesome groomer. I am so happy that after 5 years in a new town I have finally met the right groomer for my dog. She's a rescue, terrified of cages and starting to have seizures in her old age. Kelly treats her like she is her own dog. Gertie loves her. So happy with our experience! We have an 8 year old 60 lb Goldendoodle who acts like a puppy still so I was a little nervous about bringing him somewhere new. Even though he is trained he gets some anxiety when we bring him somewhere new and jumps around a lot which has not been well received in the past. It had been about 3 1/2 months and when I called for an appointment I was told that since I hadn't been there in 3 months I would be considered a new client and Kelly wasn't taking on new clients due to not having enough employees. I would have waited, wasn't in a rush. Very disappointed. Looking for a new place now. UPDATE! Kelly is a class act small business owner. She called me first thing this morning and apologized for any misunderstandings. She has had a difficult time finding qualified employees which has resulted in having to sometimes say no to clients, something no business wants to do. We were able to work something out. I've been contemplating if I should write this review or not because I feel bad to say negative things about small businesses but at the end of the day people deserve to know the truth. I brought my dog Dixie here for a haircut about a week ago. It was our first time here. The receptionist was very friendly so I do give them that. Upon arrival Kelley seemed nice and I was happy to leave my dog there. They told me it would take a while since it was busy. I was fine with this. I dropped my dog off around 11:45 at 4 I decided to call them because I hadn't heard anything back. When I called the first time no one even answered. The second time the girl said "oh we were going to call you soon. Your dog has been done for a while." So my dog has been sitting in a cage for no reason? Ok, that's not even the main issue. I ask how much the service is so I can get cash out (They have a sign up that says discounts for paying in cash). The girl says she isn't going to be able to tell me how much it is until I get here. Weird, but whatever. I bring the cash which seems to make no difference in the price (110 dollars). I paid and then waited for my receipt the receptionist is like "oh I don't have one" so I asked "did you express my dogs anal glands?" I had no idea if they had or not since I did not receive a receipt. Kelley then got defensive and rude and said "why do you ask" and then went off on me about taking my dog to the vet to get the inner glands done. I am only asking because I did not receive any type of receipt, I am aware you would only be able to do this from the outside which was not a problem. I myself work in hospitality and would never talk to a customer in such a rude/condescending tone. The haircut looked fine but for the rude service I will most definitely never be back. read more

I would actually give this place a 2.5, but since that's not an option I went with a 3. So, the first time went really well! My pug was super clean, her ears and all of her folds were immaculate. It went so well I decided to bring my dog in every 2 weeks. I just brought my dog in for her second time today and they did a terrible job. Her ears are filthy, all of her folds are filthy, her nails are the only thing that look good. I called and she offered me to bring the dog back in the same day, but I am sharing a vehicle and my time is to restricted. The picture is from in the car literally as I got home. We had brought our fluffy white 10 month old pup in for his first grooming since we had adopted him. Within minutes of my young daughter and I bringing him in (with the owner knowing he was a new member of our family and we lacked experience) we were chided for his being "matted" and "dirty" and were confidently told he needed to be shaved. We didn't know what to do, so we listened and had him shaved. It was very difficult for him and for us after that, since he looked dramatically different. He had an amazingly fluffy coat previously, and it took several months for it to grow back. It has been over a year. In looking back, after having used a different groomer ever since, we were greatly mistreated. Our dog may have had a few mats here and there, but I have since learned that I can trim them out on my own without dramatically shaving him. And he was never dirty. We never let him outside unleashed. He just has a natural brown patch of fur on his bottom that was quickly dismissed as dirty without close inspection. Perhaps the owner was having a bad day, but we were treated harshly and my daughter still brings it up to this day because it bothered her so. Unfortunately, I was not informed of additional charges when my dogs were groomed. When I received my bill I was confused and shocked as to why it was considerably higher than expected. I was then informed that there can be a filthy dog charge as well as a naughty dog charge. I am not contesting her right to make these charges but do feel that as a consumer I have the right to be informed of possible additional charges prior to or during the appointment.
