We especially appreciated the thoughtful design put into construction to make this place a most comfortable experience for our pups. Love that they had an open yet private area. The owner Kelly (and husband Kyle) went above and beyond to be accommodating. Our retriever had a puppy hair cut which isn't common and they did an excellent job! Our other dog only had her nails done and they were very gentle. You can tell they truly care about our dogs and the people. The staff we met were lovely, too! We will be back.

After years of taking our dog there we stopped after our groomer started charging us for one fictitious issue after another (matting, 'she was bad this time', 'we had to really work on her', etc.). Several times I had fully brushed the dog - no matting at all and she still upcharged me for 'matting'. But I have to say, one of the things that really set us off was that after years of grooming our dog, the groomer kept referring to our female as a he. And the groomers openly complain about not getting tipped by other customers. The independent contractor groomers are very rough around the edges - if it's not their client, they are less than pleasant. I just got the impression the ladies working there just don't like dogs or the work they do. They never give the dogs water, the cages are too small for most average size dogs. The signs in the shop just suggest customer should shut up and just pay. Regardless of instructions, the groomers do whatever they want and charge for it. This is not my idea of how to run a business. We voted with our feet and are much happier taking our dog ANYWHERE else.

As with ANY groomer, you have to be precise and tell them what YOU want -- or they will go short. It's up to you to dictate what kind of cut you are looking for during what season. The next day, he developed an ear infection, something he has never had in his seven years of life or after any previous grooming. When we contacted the owner, Patty, instead of taking accountability or helping us, she was extremely rude and argumentative with my mom, accused us of lying, and claimed our dog already had an infection and that we don't properly care for him. None of this was mentioned when we dropped him off or picked him up. She even had the audacity to ask for his vet's number so she can speak to him because she didn't believe us. He also came home with bloody diarrhea. Mistakes can happen, but refusing to take responsibility, blaming the customer, and being disrespectful when we simply asked for reasonable compensation was completely unprofessional. Especially considering how expensive the service is, we expected much better. We didn't thoroughly check reviews before going but they're consistent with what we experienced, rude owner, cuts on the dog, no accountability. We will absolutely not be returning, and couldn't recommend it to anyone.

My dog starts whining the second we turn on…read moreCross Street (because he knows where we are going) with pure excitement and when he walks in, they greet him by name and make him feel so welcome. He absolutely loves going, he comes home exhausted every time. One thing that is especially important to me is that he never comes back home sick, which gives me peace of mind sending him. That has happened with other daycares we've tried, and I've heard stories from other people that are terrifying, but nothing to worry about with DGS! We've even moved about 30 minutes away and we still will bring him there for boarding/daycare/grooming. Overall, this place is the best combination of fun, safety, and genuine care. I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else. A special shout out to Felicia, who goes above and beyond every single time. She trims his nails better than anyone else and is always so genuinely happy to see him. The feeling is definitely mutual! You can tell she truly cares about the dogs. It seems like they really do hire employees that are truly animal lovers and that is so important when you are sending your beloved pet to be cared by others. Would recommend to anyone!
