    Body scrub!
    Stacy V.

I had a very relaxing massage at Spa Evangeline in Tampa! My husband and I came here on an early Sunday afternoon as part of our anniversary weekend. It was an easy walk to the spa since it was right next to the Epicurean Hotel we were staying. They offered us complimentary wine, champagne or water upon arrival which was a welcomed surprise! We sat in the relaxation room for a few minutes before our treatments. We scheduled a couples massage so we were led into the same room sit our massages. They did not have the locker room available for changing or showering (only restrooms ) due to the pandemic. The massage was wonderful! I was talked into upgrading my massage to more of a deep tissue but it was well worth it. The 50 minutes went by quickly but I definitely felt relaxed after. The spa gave us another round of drinks and a small complimentary jar of body scrub on our way out. Thank you Spa Evangeline!

Absolutely love my manicure/pedicure. Full disclosure we booked using a travelzoo coupon so we got a discount. My sister was coming in from LA and she found it. It is normally on the pricier side for a mani/pedi, but it is well worth it for the higher quality and care. I think they can only do two people at a time because I only saw two manicure and two pedicure stations. This makes for an intimate experience. Before you start they take you to the relaxation room. It's a darkened room that has water and snacks - yes, snacks. They were like higher end trail mix combinations. I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who ate it because the popcorn in one of the mixes was a bit stale, but I really enjoyed all the snacks - yes, I tried all four...so I could review it of course. The one awkward thing is if other people are sitting in the room with you, you have to try really hard not to crunch because these are crunchy snacks, but I digress. We were then led to the manicure/pedicure area which is where the magic began. Both nail technicians were talkative, wonderful people, the type you could see yourself getting a drink with. I'm pretty sure I read that the mani/pedi would take an hour, but between the relaxation room and getting our nails done, we were there for two. I would definitely recommend wearing shorts if you get a pedicure. It was one of the rare colder days in Tampa so I wore pants that could roll up, but the tubs for your feet are deep so even with it rolled to my knees I was a little nervous the bubbles would reach my pants. This is a place where you get arm and foot massages with magical smelling scrubs. My nail tech also had a great attention to detail. She wiped off the polish a couple times to start over if it wasn't to her liking. I wish I remembered her name, but huge shout out to the millennial who used to live in Sarasota and loves Iliza Shlesinger! I really enjoyed this experience. I would definitely recommend it.

This lucky girl got an e-gift card to pick a spa of my choosing. I definitely put a lot of thought into which spa was truly worthy of me and I of them. I followed the signs and synchronicities, called a few places, even spa Evangeline and the times/dates just didn't align. So I let it go and let the universe know what I truly desired and was worthy of a ME day, a releasing day. I love intentionally using massages as a form of releasing stuck energy that no longer serves me. I allowed the signs and synchronicities and the flow of life to take me back to contacting Spa Evangeline. What I believe was truly fate and absolutely meant for me, was that they only had 1 appt left for the specific time and gender preference I was looking for! So of course, I took it! Guess what day the massage landed on?! A FULL MOON! I just knew why the universe guiding me to that day/date. For me, full moons represent releasing the old and making space for the new beginnings. I set intentions all week long to release and allow it to go. Which sometimes is challenging to do alone. I am always open to assistance in this healing journey and a massage is one of my favorite ceremonial ways to release! So I flow till the day of the massage and decide I'm going to make it a whole self love self care day for me. I enjoyed the pool and a mimosa before my appt. The staff at the spa and the hotel were all so nice and happy to help. great energy all around! I have to admit that I cannot remember the angels name that massaged me and not because she wasn't everything I needed in that moment in time! She was absolutely everything! I asked her to set the intention with me to help me release (the illusions of loss in my life) so I can welcome a new. I Can let go of the life I created to create a new one. One more suitable for the new woman I am today and evolving into. She immediately held space for me and told me sweet words and thoughts to hold on to that truly filled me with joy and love and just everything I needed and desired. What an experience! She didn't even mind that I was crying and had snot running down my face haha she respected that it's all apart of the process and I am so freaking grateful and blessed to have been assisted by her beautiful radiant energy! Just wow! I seriously am the luckiest girl alive!! So yea, I recommend this spa 10/10 It's all about how you think and feel about the experience. You. Not anyone else. Thank you staff! I love you all!

I had a Groupon for two sessions in the floatation tank…read more I've floated before at a different place and it was an okay experience. I was able to book my 1st session on the website and when I got to the facility, the guy at the front desk gave me the rundown on how the tank works and what to do to have a more pleasant experience. I showered before I got into the tank and then stepped into the tank and laid down. They had a device kind of like a floatie that you can put around your head to lift the head which helps to align your neck. This helped tremendously as opposed to my last experience. The last time I floated, I didn't feel relaxed all the way because my head drooped to far into the water. Don't get me wrong, it still floated but...something just wasn't right. One other thing that helped with this experience was the earplugs. They helped to block out the sound as well as keep water out of my ear canals. It was completely silent. Once the lid goes down and the lights go out, you really do feel like you're floating in darkness. I think some people say it's like what people may think it was like to be in the womb. The water in the floatation tank has the salinity to make your entire body float. So you can relax your muscles and body because it's totally supported by the water. Weird, right? The water is also the same temperature as your own body temperature so it's easier to relax and not get cold. After 60 minutes or however long you're booked for the water starts flowing around you and the lights come on to bring you back to the living world...lol. You get out the tank and shower off. Even through all this, I still don't think floatation is for me. Maybe if I did it more often I could learn to really relax in there but I just had a hard time really just letting go. I got bored after 30-45 minutes and got antsy waiting for my time to exhaust. I could have just got out then but I paid for a 60 minute Groupon so I was going to stay in for 60 minutes even if I was just swimming around and doing laps for the last 15 minutes. Haha! Another reason I started to get uncomfortable was that I was getting hot. The water is at or around 98.6 F but my body temperature is usually around 96-97F regularly. I was sweating in the water. I could feel the sweat on my forehead as well. Plus, the salt in the water dehydrates you a little. It would be nice to have some water afterwards. So I suggest bringing a bottle of water. My Groupon was for two floats but I didn't go back. Nothing against the business, I just wasn't feeling it. You might have a different experience though. All you really need is a bathing suit for this experience. The guy at the front desk said that many people float in the nude. They provide everything else, towels, soaps, earplugs, etc.

Float your boat, I mean...your BODY at Chill Therapy…read more I came here on the whim of a friend looking for relaxation. Luckily, Groupon was having a special. So, here I go into a floatation experience at 9am in the morning. I was greeted by Tom who was pleasant and helpful as I frantically roll in 10 mins late. No worries, Tom puts the Chill in Chill Therapy. After I sign my 1st born away for the disclaimers, Im off to float! The rules are explained plain and simple and now into the pod! Yes, a pod of salt of water. When you first get in, the water feels different, almost thicker and softer. The temperature is slightly warm and very comfortable. Once you settle in and and allow yourself to float, now it's time to relax every muscle in your body and release. Releasing and quieting the mind is more challenging than the floating. You think thoughts like, "Is this what it was like with I was in the womb?" After you get over the fetal regression moment, you start to give into the relaxation and almost slip into a light sleep or meditation. It's rather pleasant and restorative. But what if I drown Quin?! Don't worry, the viscosity of the water ensures that you float appropriately and your body stays in place. After an hour of floating, you awaken and began to feel like it's time to move your muscles. Coming back to reality, you start moving and will notice that your muscles and body feels lighter and more fluid. As an added bonus, you feel less stressed and may even notice a better nights rest at the end of the day. . I definitely recommend this as an experience to try. Feedback: I do think the option of a nice guided meditation walk through would be a great experience builder for those who don't mediate at all.

This time, he was in a more open tub rather than the enclosed pod, which he preferred--it gave him more space and comfort. He said the service was great, but the main downside was the lack of ambience. He missed the relaxing, spa-like atmosphere that made the experience in St. Augustine so memorable. That's really what held this one back a bit. Unfortunately, I haven't found any local spots that offer floats within a full spa setting like they do in St. Augustine. Still, he enjoyed the overall experience.

I get massages every 2 weeks, and I usually book a massage when I travel, so I've tried many types of massages in various locations across the states and even Japan. I booked my 90 minute deep tissue massage appointment over the phone; very easy process. They sent me some forms to fill out online in advance and confirmed my appointment. Very professional. My masseuse was Ryan, a young gentleman. He arrived about 15 minutes before my appointment; we actually arrived at the door at the same time. As it was a Saturday, the building where the spa is located was locked, so the front desk admin came to open the door for us when I called. We started our massage session a bit early, which was fine by me. I asked him to focus on my shoulders, which he went right to work on - with VERY intense pressure. Yes, I asked for deep pressure, but it was a bit overkill. He was mainly using his elbows to get under my shoulderblades - this is not very common in massages I've had, so I was a little confused. I asked him to decrease the pressure, which he did, but when he moved to the other side, he returned to the original deep pressure. He also used way too much massage oil, to the point where I felt it dripping across my back. I also noticed that his hands were shaking throughout my massage - it could be a medical condition, so I didn't say anything about it. About 10 minutes into my session, I had to ask for my appointment to be shortened to a 60 minute massage. He barely did any leg massage - could be because I had shortened my session, but he massaged my glutes and then my feet. Which all felt wonderful, but not much massaging of the calves and hamstrings. When he massaged my arms, he just kept going in a circular motion, which felt more like a gentle squeeze than a massage... Overall, I felt that the massage was very unexperienced, something I would expect of someone learning to be a masseuse or massage therapist. If you book a massage here, then perhaps be very specific with your expectations.

I chose this location for my first time floating because it isn't a "pod," it is an actual room--and dang, was I impressed. Service: top notch. The two ladies I encountered were efficient and down to earth, plus super nice and made me feel at ease. Very professional. Facility: Spotless about sums it up. I was super pleased with how clean it was, from the lobby area, to the halls, to the actual private float suites. Float suite: Holy moly. It's just so...nice. Very nice shower, instructions, well prepared prior to your arrival in the room, and just all around soothing. Much better than what I would envision a pod to be. Floating: so, it was my first time, and I booked a 60 minute. The woman who showed me around offered to keep the music playing softly so my mind wouldn't wander too much. I appreciated this gesture and took her recommendation. I wish I had read more tips prior, such as ways to meditate while in the room. The entire time was insanely peaceful, but I know I could have been more at peace had I known how to approach the entire experience. I really loved the float suite-I kept the twinkle lights on at first but then turned them off and found the complete darkness to be what I needed, and I think it just enhanced the entire experience even more. I felt great and so refreshed after; slept so well afterwards (it was a 8pm float), and even a couple days later, have been more well rested than I have been in a long time. My mental health is also seemingly improved, which I love. I used a promo code to try it out, but now I am planning on getting a membership. I don't have time to do it too often, but once a month is easily done and will be a nice break. Try it! You won't regret it!
