I went here today with my Mom. We both got standard manicures and pedicures. We made an appointment with about an hour of notice. I love the location right on Davis Island. We stopped at Tea Bella to bring a cup of lavender and lychee tea for our appointment. Mina and Helen were so nice and attentive. They did a beautiful job. The salon was clean and all the tools were in sterilized plastic. The massage was so relaxing, I almost fell asleep. This is my new favorite nail salon. Located on Davis Islands in a small strip center, there is plenty of street parking in front of the store, and on the streets nearby. Based on the other reviews, I made sure to go at an off-time, around 4:45 pm, and I got right in with no wait. The woman who did my pedicure did a fantastic job, and I'm very happy with how perfect they look. A basic pedicure cost $30, which seems to be on the high end of average these days. Now the cons, compared to the other nail salons that I really like: 1) Not offered any beverage to drink. 2) They will nickel and dime you to death. Want this "higher quality" nail polish? $5 extra. Want callus remover? $10 extra. But they don't TELL you it actually costs more until you are paying. 3) Overall, just generally not warm and friendly, which you would expect from a customer-service business. 4) The board where you pick your color from is a hot mess, with zero color organization, and many of the polishes look like they've been there over five years; I can't imagine that they would go on smoothly. If I ever go back, I'll bring my own polish. Because I enjoyed my pedicure, I would definitely go back if I was in the area, but I would bring my own water and nail polish with me. read more

Finally made it back in for a manicure after....gulp.... 2 1/2 years! WOAH! I walked in - was going to put in my name and head next door for a bite at Anchor because the hours were showing open til 7 pm. But , but they had time right then and there and they are really only open til 6! Maybe since covid, did their times change... So, I got my very first gel-job. And Terri? was super fast and efficient. Love the color and so far, a week in, they have stayed perfectly painted and I'm pretty tough on my nails! Wish they would honor appointment times... and acknowledge their customers upon arrival. I don't feel like I was treated with respect. My pedicure was amateur. I have NEVER had a pedicure chip within just a few days but it happened here. I had to completely remove it because it was embarrassing. My gel manicure was subpar as well. She used a drill to remove the gel and it made my nails super thin. Two of them snapped completely in a half about a week later. I asked for a specific shape and none of the nails matched. After the gel set, she tried to reshape them but that ended up removing the gel on the sides... read more

Called ahead by an hour on Saturday for a mani/pedi. At the verge of sounding close minded, I must note that the fluency of the English at this salon makes communication awesome, in person & on the phone. Pardon my ignorance. Went in, they sat me almost immediately and made room for my other half to get a pedi (a true test of masculinity, I know. He sucked it up.). The chairs are awesome, my pedi was fabulous and meticulous...it's been a long time since someone paid that much attention to a polish application & clean up. Made my day. That was enough to make me go back. During my visit, I also had my first experience with Shellac on my fingernails. It's 4 days later and not a chip or flaw to be seen & I have been mean and rough on my hands cleaning, etc. Heavy duty! T&L, we're buds. read more

It was probably the cleanest gel application on my pedicure I've ever had. The only problem is their $32 pedicure is timed so short and it seemed like there was steps missing and I know this because I've been getting pedis for years and I used to work in a nail salon. And then I find out it's an additional $10 for them to take care of my callus? Isn't that what a pedicure is supposed to be? No complimentary hot towels unless you pay the 50 dollar pedi, no drink offered, no lotion and just oil? Did I just sit there to get my feet washed and polished? I thought having a good manicure and pedicure in a pristine business establishment that allowed clients to be comfortable and to be charged a reasonable price was a thing of the past. Glad to be proved wrong. Visited this nail salon on Davis Islands for the first time and really regret I did not try it sooner. Called on a weekend for an appointment for a basic manicure and pedicure and was able to book both just 30 minutes after the call. Plenty of parking surrounding the business which is a big plus. Made my way inside and was immediately greeted and asked to select my preferred nail polish colors. So good, so far. Seated in a pedicure chair and there was a printed list of procedures and prices. Excellent. A pet peeve is when there is an attempt to up sell me to opt for a more pricey procedure. There to choose from or choose not to use. The person who tended to me was outstanding. Really took care, took time and took skill to make my way too long neglected nails look fabulous. I loved the whole vibe here. Really comfortable and casual and nothing that made me feel rushed. The entire place was well maintained and the service was spot on for everything from treatments to check out. Love this. Looked far too long for this. What a great experience. The super friendly staff made us feel very welcome. We called an hour ahead and they were ready for us when we arrived. We picked our color and were seated right away. This has got to be my favorite nail shop in Tampa. I don't get my nails done regularly because 1. I am a wimp and don't like how it feels sometimes (some places are rough!) 2. I never make the time for it. 3. I'm picky on the finished product. Well, T&L nails definitely knocks out those 3 reasons I hate getting my nails done! 1. They are always super gentle. 2. They take call ahead reservations and try to get you in an out. 3. They are superb at gels and I always leave with perfect looking nails! I'm not kidding. In addition to the above, the staff is very friendly and the place is clean without all the cheesy nail art photos from the 80's decking the walls. It's a family owned and operated business which I think adds to the care they take in satisfying their customers. Every time I go, they seem to know everyone by name. This place is wonderful for me when i'm in a pinch, or just when i need my nails done for photo shoots or events. The owners are wonderful people, they do keep tabs on the latest trends and it's my favourite place for chrome or diamonds. I went here as my friend was visiting from out of state and my nail shop is closed to move locations. Thought I'd try here as it's close. Henry is by far the worst technician I've ever had. He was so busy watching videos on his phone he paid no attention to my pedicure. Then moved on to the powder dip. He cut my nails super short (without asking what length I wanted) and now 6 days later the gel is chipping off. In many years of having powder I haven't had this happen. My favorite nail tech no longer works here but I continue to come here because of the professionalism and the good quality of work and service they provide here. The staff here is very talented. I the cleanliness and I especially love how sanitary they are here as they put a new plastic liners after every pedi and sterilized the tools used after ever service. Best place for a quick, no-fuss mani or pedi from talented AND friendly staff. I usually get gels and I've loved all my visits. By no-fuss, I don't mean they short-cut you but I wouldn't describe it as a spa. Sometimes I enjoy those types of places, but I always come back here because ultimately, the end results are just way better. The quality and experience are so consistently five-star that, though I can recall one-less than-perfect situation, I can't remember what the issue was. The staff are genuinely kind as well. The staff here is very nice but I did not have a good experience. I asked for a regular manicure and to have my acrylics removed. Instead of soaking and then filing my nails to get them off (which is how they are suppose to be removed at a salon) she snapped them off which didn't feel great. After that I soaked my nails in a bowl full of remover and once I was done she put the same remover I used to soak my nails back into the bottle so it could be used again. I thought that was very unsanitary and pretty gross. I was then charged an extra $15 for the removal of my acrylic nails which I could have done myself if I knew she was just going to shove something under them to snap them off. So in total I ended up paying $35 for the "removal" and the manicure. At that point I rather have just gotten a new acrylic set for $35. read more

I used to come here regularly for my nails and toes but I got tired of the way they treat their customers. It seems like they stay so busy that they don't have to care but I would warn anyone coming as a walk in, they will let you sit there for as long as you let them if they are busy. They'll tell you to sit in an empty pedicure or nail chair but then won't attend to you. I witnessed a woman waiting 45 min and when she brought it up, no one apologized. They just said they're busy. I myself was made to wait over 30 min when I actually had an appointment and I ended up leaving. Again no apology. Another occasion I showed up for an appointment and they told me my requested tech would be running late...by an hour! She had double booked me without telling me! I asked why wasn't I given a call so I didn't waste a trip over there and again they didn't apologize just said they're busy. They have limited color choices as well, I found a new home for my nails with better service. read more

Called for a same day appointment for a regular pedicure a half hour before they closed, no problem! Showed up on time and was seated & started within 5 mins, awesome! My nail tech, Helen, was very nice & quiet. I wanted to enjoy a relaxing pamper sesh and it was just that. She trimmed my nails perfectly and the massage was good (although who wouldn't love a longer one lol). Amy finished off my paint and was so courteous. I've been coming here for about 6yrs now. Moved off Davis Island and kept coming back because I felt comfortable and I prefer Jen to do my nails. The quality of polish has gone down the past few months. They do not have ANY matching polish... NOT ONE! I spend between $120-$180 a month for my nails and prefer to get what I pay for. During both the times that I have lived in Tampa, THIS is the best place to get nails and toes pretty! I go to Mia for nails. She is absolutely fantastic! You need only tell her once how you like them. She will fix them until you like and then she remembers when you return. For pedicure, everyone is amazing!! They take thier time with the exfolitation and massage which, truly, isn't this what the whole thing is about?? :) Everyone there is so nice and if you want to chat, they are great. But if you just want to relax and read brainless gossip mags, they respect that too! I use the same nail polish for my fingers every time (OPI "Passion"). Lovely nude pink color. When I couldn't find it on the wall, the girls went looking for it all over the shop. Then just opened a new one for me. THAT is what makes them awesome! I went here just for an eyebrow wax, so I can't speak for the mani/pedi's but overall, I wasn't impressed. Though the woman was very gentle, it was wam-bam-thank-you-mam and after my 3 minute wax was over, I had to go home and finish tidying up. The price also seemed to be a little steep for a nail place. I would expect to pay more at a special wax studio, but not in the back room of a nail salon. I've since found a better spot for my waxing needs. read more
