I don't understand the good reviews. The women were polite but their service was meh. The lady put two different sized tips on my thumbs and they just looked terrible. When I asked her to fix it, she said she couldnt anymore and that she did it because my nails are two different sizes.... I've been getting my nails done for YEARS and have never been told this... The french tip acrylics looked cheap and were curved. The part I'm most bothered about is how cheap their nail powders are. They left my nails so frail and damaged! My friend and I went to get our nails done and had a great experience! I got a normal manicure and she got a gel manicure. There was no wait (we went around 2PM on a Friday). We picked our colors - lots of great options - and then sat down. Everyone was extremely friendly and made conversation. They were literally SO sweet and we had a great time. Unfortunately this business has been sold. New owners are trying very hard to make business work. Quality of nail polish is questionable, are the products legit? My nail polish was on my white sofa, pedicure was not dried, even after 2 hours? Not caring for details, if nails are dried or even not able to identify problems with the finished work. Other places the technician have eagle eyes and would offer to redo it. Specially manicure, when you pay most technicians observe their own work.Here not a blink. Third time and last time. This is my first time trying this place, and I went since it was just around the corner. My review is based on my experience in the chair rather than my nails. TLDR: The technicians will talk poorly of you in front of your face because they think you don't understand them. I came in as a walk-in, and asked if they had time for me-- which they did, so that was great. I came in for a gel manicure, and got exactly that. I was thinking about getting fake nail tips but I've never gotten them done before so I asked my technician if it was possible. She never directly said if it was or wasn't, she just asked me more questions about length. While she was filing my nails, she was talking to the technician to my left and was badmouthing me in front of my face (in Vietnamese) and calling me names. Surely she didn't know I understood, but it doesn't mean it was okay. They then told me (in English) that it wasn't possible to do dip nails due to time, which I was totally fine with since I was a walk-in anyway. However, I felt very uncomfortable for the entirety of my session due to the fact that they were just saying really rude things about me to my face, and I will not be coming back here again. So this is the first time I got my nails done and I chose to acrylic nails with gel nail paint and it has been less than 24 hours like literally and two of my nails have gotten bad. I tried to fix the index finger on my own at night since i was traveling the next morning, using a similar color nail paint. Other than this, she gave me cuts on four of my fingers cause she was so aggressive and impartial while doing the buffering. I called on a random Wednesday afternoon and asked if I could make a last minute same day appointment. They were able to accommodate me at 5 pm! Walk-ins are welcome but they seem to get busy in the late afternoon. I did the lavender mani pedi combo. It was wonderful. The service also included a hand/foot massage and salt scrub. Kim did most of the work on me and Linh did the manicure. They were both great! I love how my nails came out--great shape, very clean and just an overall thorough job. I love this salon. It's my go-to in East Bay and ive been coming here for a couple of years. They are so so so nice and accommodating. It was already 6:30pm and my friend and I just got started on a mani and pedi (they close at 7pm). It took a good hour for us to finish but they didn't try to rush us out since we were the last customers there. They provided great service and the nails were well done. Pedicure was great and even added a wonderful foot and leg massage. When it came to the manicure was a bit different than what I used too but didn't think much of it and I wasn't about to tell them how to do their job. But next day after my appt. my nails were already coming loose and one even popped off. I was a walk-in for a gel manicure. The woman that started my nails was horrible - cut it the actual length I wanted which meant it would be even shorter after filling. I asked for round/almond and gave me square nails. I kept looking @ them and saying they weren't round and she said she would fix with the file. I said no bc then they would be even shorter. I know my face gave away my mood and luckily Leena stepped in to save the day. As she worked on my cuticles, she re-shaped my nails so that they were actually round. She did such a nice job that I'm not even mad they're shorter than I intended. She was patient and attentive while working as quickly as she could. She knew I was in a time crunch and we lost a bunch of time because the first nail tech didn't know how to file/shape. I joke that my husband needed to thank Leena (he accompanied me) because I would've complained about my nails all weekend. Leena is wonderful! She was the only one that greeted other customers that walked in, answered questions, and overall great at running the salon when there were 5 other staff members sitting around/in the back. I had acrylics done at this place a while ago and Kim charged me almost $60 for a no design basic set of acrylics. I reluctantly paid for it being that I had got them done for the first time in 10 years. A few weeks later I went back to get them removed and I was waiting when a white woman demanded she get her nails done before me. Kim forgot about me and when I asked about the wait time she didn't say anything. It sucks. I really liked my nails. But their customer service is awful read more
