The service is sufficiently polite, but not terribly relaxed nor thorough unless they KNOW you're dropping BIG coins lol. There are a TON of workers working in there too, so if they think they won't make much money off you then they do the absolute bare minimum. Come when there aren't many people and it's slow. Overall though, they do an above average job. Nothing bad, but not the crème de la crème either. My rating should be 3.5 stars rather than 3, but yelp won't let you do half stars on reviews so.

I…read morehonestly have gone up to 6-7 weeks before and the polish never chips (although I obviously have to go back in due to the growth). Whenever i get a mani here, I never have to worry that my nails won't last for the full four weeks until I'm back. I have found that the few times I've strayed from coming here, my nails chip, get cracked and don't last nearly as long! I tend to go here every four weeks or so to get my nails done. The techs are very friendly and at this point know me by name. They have soooo many gel color options. I oftentimes find it difficult to choose between all the colors! I personally have never had an issue here regardless of who my nail tech is. I've also gotten pedicures and find those to be enjoyable as well. Many times, I will ask them to do the gel color on my toes so that it stays longer. All in all, I highly recommend Avalon as an excellent salon for your next mani/pedi. They are the best!

came in from DC to see friends and family, thought I'd treat us to a little mani pedi…read more my pedicure, I didn't even get to choose what I wanted, the person did their own thing. she was really nice and did a decent job- tho again, no choice and no frills, but I'm not upset about her. But WHILE I'm getting my pedicure, the nail tech started doing the manicure. no hand washing or exfoliating scrub or cuticle care AT ALL. dude is coughing and coughing, he's wearing a mask at least. but it was SO AWKWARD. I'd ask questions, he wouldn't answer. just intermittent coughs. dude should have stayed home with that nasty cough. so my no frills pedicure is over, I make it to the table to get paint on my nails but now I can actually see them and they look like crap. A lady whom I assume is the manager comes over and asks if all is ok. I show her my nails. she says something to tech and he starts aggressively removing the paint. the paint wasn't the problem-- my cuticles looked lIke crap and should have been pushed back and trimmed so that my manicure could look right. basic manicure 101, right? that's step one. The person who did my pedicure comes over and goes "oh that's normal, cuticle push back would have been $10 extra". I'm like ok so $10- no one told me that. Captain coughs a lot apparently was so ill he couldn't tell me that. The guy at the main counter is right next to us. he's so busy scrolling his phone he never says a word. I assume he's the owner...he was useless. the fact that they charge extra for the basics is wild, but they never bothered to tell me that for $10 more I could have had a normal, nice looking manicure. The brand new nails already looked like they'd been outgrown by weeks and already needed a fill in BEFORE I EVEN WALKED OUT. I was super upset to hand over almost $200 for the 2 of us and my nails looked like garbage from the start. I have never in my life had such a busted ass set of nails. here's what they look like less than a week later. DONT GO HERE. If I lived anywhere near there I'd have pitched a fit until they were fixed but lucky for them I'm 500 miles away. This place obviously doesn't give 2 sh1ts abouts their customers. the ONE star is for my no frills pedicure just because I liked the person. if I could give my manicure person and management -100 stars, I would. on future trips, we won't be coming back to UNhappy Nails. zero stars. do not recommend. Update: this place actually lashed out at me on social media and tried to blame me for this, saying we came at closing time and they told me up front it would be rushed. A- I called ahead. I asked if there was enough time he was very casual and said yeah come on down we have time. But that was not the case. He also tried to say his employee wasn't sick. Ok? I guess he's just a mask wearing mute who coughs a lot? Odd. And no one told me about $10 upcharge to do a nice job- clearly I would have chosen that. And had the guy just been honest WHEN I CALLED AHEAD and communicated that there wasn't enough time to properly take care of us, we'd have simply gone elsewhere. Now I'm on day 11 of crappy nails. First pic was day 3- which is exactly how they looked as soon as they were done. Which I expressed before I left and it was never fixed. Now at day 11, these nails are almost off, my hair keeps getting under them.... They should have looked awesome when first done and lasted at least 3 weeks before having any kind of worn out look. So not only did they fail my nails, they failed at customer service- TWICE. Oh-- and did I mention they referred to my wife and my sister, for no apparent reason? Homophobic maybe. Idk. But I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. What could they improve? Everything. Vibe? Haphazard.

I had the lavish pedicure with regular polish. Son was my nail tech, he was very friendly and professional. He was also detailed oriented and thorough. I really enjoyed my pedicure from start to finish. The salon itself is very clean. It was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon, but I didn't feel rushed at all during my service. They have a good color selection and nice swatches to look through for deciding a color. The waiting area is kind of small so I would recommend to make an appointment that way you can get started as soon as possible. Overall a great experience and worth the 30min drive, I'll be back.

This salon clearly violates Ohio health code:…read more I have filed complaint #CO2025-0004 They do not barbicide/disinfect the drill bits, brushes, or nippers for nail extension services. Vivian then proceeded to argue with me over text saying the brushes would be wet between clients which is absurd you should own enough brushes to sanitize between clients. The law is anything touching skin between clients needs full disinfection. Also she tried to state alcoholing nippers is sufficient when it is not and does not comply with code. She said well its not a full manicure. However it is still trimming and touching skin and high risk of microcuts and blood borne pathogens. Artificial nails are higher risk even than manicures given drill use. I refuse to take a risk of going to a dirty salon that does not operate per the law. Especially in such a high end area with top vip clientele I expected better service and treatment! I tried this salon once since my usual was booked. I would recommend never going here given high risk of infection and potential for disease, and complacency against the health code laws. Also she does not understand the severity when trying to bring to her attention and got defensive and argued over text with me. Guess she does not respect her customers either. Good luck keeping this business open now Vivian. It could have been an easy fix/adjustment and confirmation owner to client privately but you tried to defend your poor practices which clearly violate the law so now unfortunately I am having to report to protect others safety.
