I was scheduled for an apt at 12:45. Someone walked in asking me if I wanted a drink at 12:58. I asked her what time is was that I had an apt at 12:45. She left and came back and said oh they will be with you shortly they are finishing up. Then this same lady came back to tell me that she would be doing my facial. Then what was supposed to be a 50 min facial was 30mins. It was one of the worst facial I've ever had as well. Do not recommend. read more

Prices are a little steep, considering it doesn't have all the typical spa amenities, however Monica gives one of the best massages I've ever had (top 5, for sure)! If you're just looking to book a spa service, then this is a great little spa, but if you're looking for all of the added spa amenities (like a jacuzzi, dry sauna, etc), then you'll have to look elsewhere. They do have a small steam room in their locker room. They were missing some basics in the locker room (no q-tips, no lotion, for example), but did have a blow dryer, combs/brushes). read more

I was happy that they were able to accommodate my last minute booking, they got me in on the last day of my stay with less than 24 hours' notice. When I arrived, I had to wait for the two women to finish their personal conversation, before I could get checked in. I was shown around and given my robe and slippers. I like that the lockers have combinations, rather than keys, I hate having to wear a stupid key around my wrist while in the spa. So that was a plus. I had booked the Serenity package, and I'll just say it was odd. I did not like the order that they did things - not at all. I had my massage first, which was nice and relaxing. But then I had my scrub next and it was super abrasive. Worst I've ever had. The bath comes last and it is not that relaxing because it stunk of chlorine or bleach. I found various oils and stuff around in the bathroom and tried dumping it in the tub, but it didn't help. The therapist left me with the lotion to put on myself at the end and that didn't seem right. I feel like it should be scrub, bath, then massage at the end. Instead, I left not being able to hit all of the spots with the lotion, and reeking of bleach. I'm an avid visitor of spas when on vacation, so this was not my first rodeo. While it's not the worst spa I've ever been to, it's nowhere near the best either. It was mediocre, the prices were not super excessive, but still not worth it based on the lack of quality of the overall experience. If I were back in the area, I'd maybe go for a facial or a massage but not too much more than that. read more

I was looking to being pampered and that is exactly what I received at the Spa San Luis. I requested a relaxation massage and was assigned to Shalanda. I have had many massages over the years, and without a doubt this was one of the best I have ever received. I plan to return and will be sure to ask for Shalanda. Had an amazing experience at this spa. I've been to several spas and this was one of my best experiences. I'm extremely picky about my masseuse because most are not able to apply the pressure that I need to make a relax. Gabby was not only very knowledgeable but also gave me one of the best if not the best massage I've ever had. She also gave me a body wrap which was very detoxifying. I cannot say enough good about Gabby . The spa is extremely fortunate to have her. I traveled from California to visit my sister here in Texas and every time I come back to Texas I will get a massage from Gabby !! read more

First massage here, needed to chill, felt more shaken and agitated than an irritable toddler. In the meditation room, above my head were toddlers+ getting mani and pedi and their precious little faces painted, move it on over. Their infused water was nice but the sales pitch not needed. Angst sat in when nobody was receiving services but moi. Tip for those who care, do not park your jewels or flip flops in a spa locker, lug it in the room with you. The intake form odd, must check off a box intimating that you will not be receiving sexual perks during the massage, that is a first in my spa around the world acumen. Had been called once and asked in person if gender mattered to me. A good massage with a dash of reflexology was my request. Asked about other services and they were available without a reservation. What a fiasco. What should have been a simple appointment turned into a time wasting nightmare. As a token of my appreciation to my mother in law for being such a great host at the San Luis (she's a resident) I booked her and my wife an hour and a half massage. Serghio the manager took my information as well as my credit card for the appointment (in two weeks). I let my mother in law know what time and date the appointment was so she can free her calendar. A week before their appointment my mother in law was in for a massage and said as she was leaving, "I'll see you next week". The receptionist told her that she didn't have an appointment next week. Disappointed, she texted my wife and told her that I hadn't made any appointment. I called and spoke to a woman and told her of my problem, she said that she would have Serghio call me the next morning. After no call after 10:00am the next morning, I called...the woman said that she would have him call me right back. 20 minutes later Serghio called, he remembered talking to me and apologized because they were having computer issues. He no longer had the 11:00 appointment available but said that he could accommodate them at 1:00, he wanted my credit card info again but I was reluctant because they obviously have issues with their computers and possibly security. He assured me that the info was safe and that he would make up for my problems with them by overseeing their visit personally, give them the VIP treatment, and have gift bags for them on their departure. The day of the appointment, I walked them down to ensure that my credit card would be billed. They didn't have my card info on file after giving it to them twice! After the massage my wife and mother in law returned to the room. I asked them if they liked the gift bags they received. "We didn't get any gift bags". So much for the apology and VIP treatment! I immediately called down to the spa and spoke to Serghio. He said that he was busy with something else and forgot about the bags. He apologized again and after I refused to send my wife back down, he said he would have the bags delivered to our room. The bags had a couple of cosmetic/lotion samples that are free anyway. Although very friendly, the lack of organization and attention to detail makes this spa extremely unprofessional. read more

My husband gave me the gift of a hydra facial. Cost--$195. Though the facial was great and I felt relaxed afterwards the billing end of things turned that all on its head. I planned on a 15% tip for the young lady who gave me the facial. I was told I could also use the small steam room and shower. Thinking I could extend the feeling of the facial I used both. When checking out I find I was assessed 15% for doing so and that 15% of that fee went to the facial girl. If I was tipping her what on earth is that additional fee for? Others I know have had the hydra facial elsewhere and have enjoyed a steam room and shower along with the facial cost. Therefore I didn't think to ask. My fault. Upon viewing the service menu online, nowhere does it mention this additional fee. I will not return to the San Luis for any services like this. My wonderful day was ruined by the financial, and what I consider sneaky, charge added to my bill. read more

I have a complaint of the service I received when checking in on 6/15/2021 by Ms. Samantha Galindo (mgr.). I did arrive an hour before check-in but had no problem waiting until my room was ready. After being texted my room was ready after 4pm I went and asked the young man to let me know the room number, which he did. I went to the room 6XX only to see it was not clean. I headed back down to the desk and told another young man that room was not clean. Mind you I was not upset, but exhausted from travel and carrying my bags. The young man said he didn't know what to do but volunteered getting a manager. The manager (Samantha) came out never acknowledge me, never apologized, but immediately asked for my wristbands. She changed my room, but most importantly a simple acknowledgement of her mistake and an apology would have went far on the mix up. I'm a Landry Select member and I still haven't received my points as well. I came with a large group and was looking forward to my 1-night stay only to experience a bad customer service experience. read more

The hotel is a beauty, the bar is fabulous... The spa... Lets just say they need a major makeover with both staff and spa. The locker room/bathroom smelled like mildew. The massage I had seemed ok at first. The massage hurt so bad even after I asked for her to take it easy. I was supposed to have a relaxation massage. I can't stress enough. I've been visiting this spa for years. I've always been happy with the accommodations and service. When I went to check out this time, they told me they added 20% tip to our final bill. I was not informed of their new tipping policy when I booked the 3 services. I always tip when I have spa services, but I was shocked that they tipped themselves. What's the incentive to do a "great" job if you know you're getting a great tip after; there isn't. I thought the service was rushed and lacked a personal extra touch Spa San Luis has been known for. When I checked out, I found out why: they no longer have to put forth extra effort to be great. This will be the last time I visit their spa. read more

This place sucks - be prepared when checking in.....they charge the entire charge of all your night plus 100.00 per night on top of the full amount as if you already checked out. I hate their policy they don't inform you of at the time. There is no balance when you sign the screen -so you don't know it. I had the absolute worst experience here. I book the spa for a bachlorette party of 6 women. I chose this location solely because of how easy they were to communicate with and they seemed to be used to this type of arrangement. Upon arrival I was informed that all of our appointments were booked end-to-end. Meaning none of us were to be in the room at the same time! We only wanted Mani-Pedi's and they had only brought in 2 technicians and made a HUGE deal about how we were 'renting out the whole spa" which was clearly not true since a man came in and got a hair cut in the middle of our appointment. The group planning woman was rude and insulted my intelligence several times, she spoke down to me because I was young,and refused to refund us for services we didn't receive! I had to call management to get the refunds (which we should've been refunded for 1/2 of everything after that TERRIBLE experience).It's been 3 weeks and we still don't have them all. read more

I love the San Luis but my experience at their Spa was the worst ever. The messed up our booking and tried to have a male staff member message my under age daughter. When I tried to explain to them she was to get a manicure not a body message the manager tried to excuse their mistake by telling me it must have been my mistake. Wonderful. The well appointed locker room has a steam bath and the Moroccan Oil line of products to use. Facials are exceptional, and local residents receive a discount. Amount of gratuity is left up to customers discretion. My first choice on the island for a massage or facial. read more
