This campground may be small, but it truly delivers a wonderful experience! We were welcomed by some of the friendliest staff we've ever encountered. They even reopened the store after closing so our kids could go fishing, which was such a thoughtful gesture and really set the tone for our stay. We had a full hookup pull-through site with more than enough space for our 44' RV. The campground offers plenty of activities for kids, including a jump pillow, playground, pond fishing, and a pool. We also enjoyed the scenic walking trail around the pond. The bathrooms were very clean, and the laundry facilities were surprisingly affordable. There was even a spacious dog park for our furry family members to enjoy. Overall, this campground was welcoming, well maintained, and family friendly. Headed back South, Spacious Skies Sandy Run has become a favorite stop. Well maintained, safe, full hookups, we drove an extra few hours to get a day off from travel to decompress see our daughter, get some laundry done, re stock the fridge etc. I don't think we will head out on the road without this being a regular stop. The folks are super nice, they sell propane so you can top your tank. This is a great stop many RV's spend some time here and enjoy the onsite amenities, Pool, kids play area, little store.. read more

First off, Donna was extremely nice and helpful during the reservation process. This is probably the main reason I'm giving a five star review. We pulled in at 10 PM and left at 9 AM the next morning. The campsites are well marked and RV site #4 is the absolute best spot for large rigs. We are 50 ft long with 5th wheel and truck. We had no problem getting into our pull thru site. The campground is very well kept and clean. I can't comment on the bath house. I can only assume it is just as clean. I wish I was able to take full advantage of the pool and the remainder of the properties amenities. My only negative comment is that it is a bit more sandy than anticipated but that's why we have dust pans and brooms. read more

This is now called spacious skies I loved this place - white sand, concrete pad for picnic table, nice fire pit, clean bathrooms, nice laundry facility with TV. The pool is really nice, clean well maintained, comfy lounge chairs. They have a bounce pad that was a blast! The lady at the desk was accommodating and her husband brings you to your site. New owners according to front desk. This was a perfect stop for us. Close to 95. I made the reservation online about 30 minutes prior to our arrival and then called and left a message on our arrival time. It was nice and quiet. Sites are shady. It may be very nice, but it was far and above the most expensive camp spot I've ever heard of and we have camped from coast to coast. The price they quoted made us laugh out loud. OWNER IS A JERK, PARK IS A SAND PIT. When we arrived we decided against staying because of all the sand & all of their amenities were closed which was not disclosed when booking our stay. The owner yelled at my husband & refused to provide a refund on the basis of a credit card transaction charge. The owner had zero customer service & the lady behind the desk wasn't any better. We got most of our money back but he kept $10 just because he could. This is the first campground we've had issues with in over a year of full time RV living. Nice campground a couple miles off 95. Stopped here for one night on our way up north. Our site had a concrete area with picnic bench and fire pit. We were close to the bathrooms which was nice. The location is wooded which is nice especially in the fall. Biggest problem was wifi was pretty slow. But for one night i could deal with it. I am a business owner so having access to internet is important. But I still had a phone signal so it was fine. The poop looked very nice. Didn't get to use it because we stopped in November. The bathrooms were nice and private. Good for a shower. Would stop here again for sure. read more

Drove in at 8:00 pm. Gate open, sign reads open 9-9. Office was closed, sign on door had number to call. (Noticed many vacant sites). My husband called the number, a guy named Floyd or Lloyd answered said we can't get a site because we couldn't sign paperwork. My husband said we will gladly sign paperwork and pay in the morning. He would not let us have a site. The sign on the highway should be removed if they refuse to accommodate travelers. read more

Very new to tow behind trailer camping. Camp site was awesome! This is the place for tranquility! Very quiet, would have thought we were the only ones there. Site has a little over two dozen spots. Well kept and maintained, really clean bathroom. Gravel slab for parking, concrete slab for picnic area, fire place, and close to Walmart for supplies. They also fill propane and sell fire wood! My family of 6 just bought our first RV, this was our first camping trip and we were nothing but excited to go on our first adventure! When we called to make our reservation the lady was so so friendly, even called back to check if we wanted to Stay an extra night because our friends were, we said we were not sure she told us no problem we could always extend! When we pulled up I was literally excited to put a face to the women on the phone since she was so sweet. That was not who greeted us. The owners came out of their home and walked across to the office, barley told us hello. She huffed past us and told us one person at a time inside. I tried to make small talk inside that she ignored, ignored our children that said hello as well. Told us there was no way we Could extend our stay. We settled in and were ready to relax with the other two families that came with us. They patrol often, which is good but they are rude don't wave. That night When we were sitting by a fire making s'mores, the dads playing washer toss the owner was standing between the trees watching, came over told us many complaints were being called in about our volume......( our families are active duty marines, we know what loud is) but we had no music on and were not loud. We went to bed. Again the next night 4th of July we were told to go inside at 10 pm, again no music..... we talked to all our neighbors and no one called. They were rude when we asked if anyone had left for us to extend. They have a beautiful pool that we were made to get out of because his radar said a storm was close, it never even rained. ( that happened 2xs) Over all the park is clean but if you want to have a fire at night make sure to be in bed by 10! I was really hoping for a friendlier camp site for our family! read more

A very nice campground. About one mile off I-95. Stayed for one night. Will stay longer when back in this area. Friendly, professional staff. Contacted me via mobile when it looked like I would not make it before closing time. I was just a few miles away and made it before closing time. The entire campground is white sand, my site had concrete pad with picnic bench and fire pit (did not use). I imagine that the campground is fairly well shaded in the summer. The wifi was good as well as the cable TV selection. The information sheet is the best that I have seen. Nice map of the campground; nice map of surrounding area; cable channel line-up; Campground Etiquette info; mileage to major cities, north and south; list of nearby churches; satellite coordinates; all on front and back of one sheet. Oh my gosh! We love this campground! Owners are so friendly and helpful! It is easy to get to off of I-95 and soooo very peaceful! Very clean and well kept. Lots of partial shade. The Owners/ Staff here were SO nice. We were running late due to traffic and they waited past the closing hour to get us in and called to see how we were doing. They guided us to our spot and were very helpful and patient. And those southern accents....LOVE! The campground is very nice, roomy and clean. The pool and that bathing facilities were immaculate, as was the laundry room. The only issue with the site is the amount of sand (which can't be avoided in that area) and the ants. With a dog in tow, ants are problematic to his comfort but we managed well. Right off I95 and lots to do in the area (fishing walks, rivers, etc) Wish we had more time but will make this a regular on our travels for sure read more

We have stayed at Lazy Acres quite a few times over the years. I called earlier today to make reservations for 2 nights at the end of September and the lady helping me was real nice, found us in the computer, made the reservations, took my credit card info and said she would email me a confirmation. Several hours later the same day, the lady called me back and advised me that there was a problem and that the computer would not take the reservations and that they could not accommodate us. I was very confused so I inquired as to what the problem was and she just continued to say the computer would not take the reservation. Knowing that was not the truth, since the computer had taken the reservation earlier when I made it and she was not saying they were having computer issues, she was saying that we could not stay there. I could hear a man telling her what to say in the background. As she insisted that the Computer said......I advised her that a computer only knows what a Human tells it and that if there was a problem, I would appreciated knowing what it was. She then stated that we had a history of making reservations and not showing, therefore preventing them from renting their campsites. I was floored as that has never happened. Could we of possibly made a reservation at some time in the past years and had to cancel, yes that could be possible. But honestly I could not remember any times so I asked for her to tell me when this happened. Life happens and if I ever have to cancel any travel reservations, I always do so in advance and pay any cancellation fees. She verbally told the man what I was requesting and he told her to tell me it was last year. Well if all this is in the computer, then why could they not give me any details. If I had done something wrong, I wanted to know what it was. In pursuing this on, he continued to tell her what to tell me and she kept saying the computer said....blah blah blah and I reminded her that the computer only knows what a human tells it and that I could hear the owner telling her what to say in the background and that he obviously did not have balls enough to speak to me directly, well he came flying on the phone then screaming and yelling at me and telling me he had plenty of balls and hung up on me! When I got off the phone and shared with my husband what had happened he said that he had an issue the last time we had stayed there with the owner. He had gone up to the office to see if we could extend a day and the lady said yes and he paid her in cash, and he did not get a receipt. The owner came by the site after check out time and reminded him that we were suppose to be gone and he told him he had extended a day and paid the lady in the office. My husband went back up to the office with the owner and thought everything was straightened out, the lady he had paid was not there then, but evidentially it was not. And instead of getting to the bottom of that problem then the owner evidentially "Black Balled" us. I have been in business my entire life and I am over 65 years of age and I have never been treated so bad. If this is they way they treat their customers, I wish them the best of luck because they lost a good customer today. read more

If you like bring treated with less than the dignity you or your canine babies deserve then go to this campground! Campground staff are contemptuous at least and horrendous at best in dealing with their customers who keep the park in business!!! The owner of the campground banged loudly on our door while we were eating breakfast and preparing to leave... to angrily chastise us for bringing to their attention the daily rate discrepancy on the internet vs. their website. He also stated they offered a long list of discounts but we were offered none when we made our reservation. My husband is a disabled Marine Corps veteran retiree with 23 years of active service. The campground is not well maintained. The surface is sand over gravel. No grass. Leaves and pine needles everywhere. No place for your canine baby to have a decent constitutional. We booked this campground based on YELP reviews, giving them the benefit of the doubt. The YELP reviews were spot on. Among the worst campgrounds in our travels across the U.S. We needed propane in our RV and an additional propane tank refill but after our abusive verbal battering from the owners we decided to refuse to provide this campground owners and staff any more of our business or hard earned money and just left. read more

If I could give this a zero, I would. The staff is very unfriendly and hostile. We felt very unwelcome. The only plus side was that the pool was open, but then one of the male staff went down and started "working" around the area as soon as my pre-teen daughter and son went down to swim. Even though I was down there with them, it felt like he was watching them more than he was working and it was very unsettling. Then to make matters worse, we were in town to visit my daughter. She drove by to pick up my son to go get a haircut (she just did a drive through, did not stay and utilize ANY of the facilities) and the staff got very nasty about her needing to pay $4 for driving through their gates. Would not have been a big deal (although it's ridiculous) but the way it was handled was SO unprofessional. read more

Horrible place may my reservation at noon time for a one night stay while traveling. I got a flat tire and had to get a new tire put on so I would have a spare I called them to tell them about this they asked Where I was and I told them they told me to call them when I was an exit or 2 away that the office would be closed but they would have someone meet me. I got back on the road and shortly later got a call telling me that they would not let me have my site because they don't register people after dark. I would have got there around 8 o'clock half an hour before sunset. I asked if they were going to refund the $43 they charged me since they were canceling my stay and did not have late registration like every other campground I have ever stayed at. I was told no that they held the site for me. I said but wait you are canceling my stay not me and that they never told me I had to be there by a certain time. I was still told No. Explain to the woman on the phone that all my calls are recorded in accordance with federal and North Carolina law in that I would dispute the charge with my credit card company because I have a recording of cur canceling my stay. She then told me she would have the owner call me the next morning. She then told me she would have the owner call me the next morning Of course he did not. When I called them the next afternoon I was told they would not refund me then the woman asked me if the call was being recorded I told her yes as all my calls are. She then started talking over me would not listen to another word I said and hung up on me. read more

Talk about Peace and Quiet! This is the place to get away, slow down, and just relax. The staff is friendly and make sure you are comfortable. The bathroom and showers are clean. The pool is the nicest I have experienced at any campground while it is the cleanest pool I have ever seen. Our site had full hookup, huge gorgeous fire pit, and gravel for easy leveling. Lots of their sites are pull through. It is close to the highway while tucked away from the busy life. There is a camping world and the town of hope mills near by will have all the supplies you need to make your stay here just right. The beautiful tree cover the grounds but do not hinder function of pulling in our out. The kids enjoyed the playground. They have washer and dryers $$ available. Ignore the reviews about customer service as this is not a KOA and their customer service as been great. The husband and wife team that clean and manage when the owner is out and about is fantastic! They had big smiles and happy to answer your questions. Thank you for a wonderful stay and the rest we need to get back on the road. read more

Will not ever stay here again! We came to visit our soldier stationed at Fort Bragg and were charged an extra fee when he came to eat dinner with us. We were told it must be paid in "cash". Since he arrived after 8:00 pm and "visiting hours" were over at 10:00 pm, I asked if the fee would cover 24 hours? The front office lady said no, and that a new fee would be charged each time he left and returned. Next we went to get change for laundry and they only do $10 rolls of quarters with no exceptions. If you don't need $10 worth of quarters, that is unfortunate for you! The sites are well spaced out but please bring a vacuum and broom because the entire campground is a sand pit with sporadically placed shade. Also bring bug spray as the ants will fight the mosquitoes for a chance to invade your camper and bite you! The owners of the campground (aka campground Nazis) are some of the most unpleasant and unaccommodating people I've ever met and will continually circle the grounds on their golf cart making sure you abide to the crazy list of rules they provide you at check in. I'm not exaggerating... from dawn till dark they are on patrol glaring at you every time they pass by. Let's talk about the pool now, make sure you stay away from the rope! The owner (campground nazi) will yell at you! I watched the rope separate from its clip (it was held together with electrical tape) due to the waves some children were making just being children. The campground nazi came stomping into the pool area and berated the Father of the kids and was the opposite of kind to the group. Bathrooms/Showers are "kinda" clean and very basic. Our stay was during the COVID pandemic when cleanliness should be exemplary. There are several sets of camp hosts that seem pleasant and try to be helpful, but their abilities are very limited by the campground's owner and the crazy rules they have in place. I also tried to get our Good Sams discount applied when we checked in but was told, "no and that no refunds of any type are issued". When we made the initial reservation, we weren't Good Sam members and the only way they give a discount is if you ask when making the reservation. Upon leaving, I went into the office to purchase a bag a ice for the road. When I changed my mind and asked for "2 bags instead of 1" I received an "ugh accompanied with an eye roll" from one of the owners. I said "thank you so much and have a great day" and got nothing in return. So, if you absolutely just NEED a place to park for the night, this place is barely OK. However, if you're looking for something for a few days or a place to stay while you visit with your soldier... This is NOT your place! read more

I don't like the idea of your friends having to pay 4 dollars per visit . I stayed there 3 weeks with my family and nothing change about there unfriendly atmosphere. This place is my second home. There are rules to maintain the place. We love the trail along the big lake surrounded with wood trees. Our border collie's addicted to the frisbee, and this trail is perfect for her. Once she's over heat then she jumps into the lake.
