If you are in town on Friday at lunch, head to the cafeteria in the back for a fantastic plate lunch. Look for the fried shrimp!

it's ok, it's a little pricy for not that good food, I don't reccomend the spaghetti! the sauce is kinda gross and the potato salad is bad.

Our waiter was attentive and very informative about everything on the menu! Everything we ate, was well cooked and delicious! Our drinks had the perfect amount of alcohol and drink mixture and tasted very fresh! The bathroom was very clean and cute. It was a great spot for a date night, although a little loud! We can't wait to go back to try more from the summer menu!

It's one of my all-time favorite spots, so I couldn't wait to share the experience with her--and she absolutely LOVED it. Our server, Joe, was outstanding--knowledgeable, attentive, and a true pro when it came to walking us through the menu and drinks. We kicked things off with cocktails (the Salt & Pepper Tomato Martini and a Dirty Martini) and appetizers: the grillade kabobs plus the crawfish & andouille rangoons. Every single bite was fabulous. For entrées, we had the corn husk-steamed Gulf fish and the crab aglio e olio, paired with the summer squash gratin on the side. And to top it all off, dessert was nothing short of perfection: bread pudding waffles with ice cream. Cinclare never disappoints--it's always a 10/10 experience, and this visit was no exception.

I booked this restaurant because I remembered how much I enjoyed their complimentary bread and oil,…read moreand I knew it could comfortably accommodate a larger group for a celebration. Unfortunately, four guests from my party were unable to attend. Only then was I informed of a $15 fee per empty chair. I was shocked. Had I known about this policy beforehand, I would have either chosen a different restaurant or made sure my guests understood the policy. I called three times in total: once to make the reservation, a second time yesterday to adjust the party size (I reached voicemail and left a message), and a third time today at opening to update the number again. During both the initial booking and the final call--when the reservation size was discussed--I was never told about the $15 fee for each empty chair. When I was told there would be a $60 charge for the guests who couldn't attend, I felt gutted. If I had been made aware of this policy at any point during my calls, I would have planned differently, especially knowing some family members might not be able to make it. We all just came from an important ceremony celebrating my accomplishments at Nicholls, and I was so excited to bring my family here--especially because I'd been raving about their delicious bread and oil. Unfortunately, I learned that it had been taken off the menu six months ago. The manager was also dismissive and disrespectful. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, she insisted that she had informed me of the policy over the phone, which was simply not true. Like I've stated before, I would have planned accordingly had I known about this fee. I have years of experience working in customer service. I completely understand the need for policy's like these. I just think there absolutely needs to be a conversation about the no show policy. After the encounter with the unprofessional manager, I asked her if we could pay for our drinks and leave. The waitress ended up coming back and explaining their need for the policy- which I appreciated and expressed my understanding and apologies, as well as the fact that this fee was never once brought up to me. She said the drinks were on the house and we left a tip for her... I hope something changes for the sake of this restaurant.

While I'm not crazy about Bourgeois Meat Market's andouille sausage, which I have found to be a bit…read moretough, I enjoy their regular smoked sausage, and I'm a huge fan of their Cajun Smoked Tasso. For the uninitiated: Tasso is fast-cured, seasoned, and smoked pork shoulder. It's used in stews and simmered foods, softening as it cooks, adding a delicious, unique flavor and bite that's typical of many Southern Louisiana (read: Cajun) dishes. Tasso's difficult to describe, but you'll know it when you taste it. I just received four 1-lb. packages of tasso, shipped from Bourgeois' smokehouse in Gray, LA via FedEx 2Day. The order arrived in good shape, and though the ice packs surrounding the meats had melted, the tasso was smoked (and so, fully-cooked) and it was vacuum-sealed. It went straight into my freezer, and it'll be fine. The cost to ship from Lafourche Parish to San Diego doubled the price of the product, from $7.24/lb to around $15, but I pay that much (or more) for quality steaks and seafood, here at home, and it was my choice to spend top-dollar for meat that I know, from experience, will make my gumbo, red beans, etc. taste better than I could otherwise make them. Kudos to the folks at Bourgeois Meat Market for offering a high-quality product, and for handling the purchase and shipping in a professional manner. I like visiting their shop when I'm in the area, but I LOVE that they don't make me get on a plane to eat what they're cookin'!
