My family and I visited on April 16th while in Pierre Part. What drew my attention was the sign for fresh boiled crawfish. We got seated and the server informed us they had no boiled crawfish. I should have taken this as a sign to get up and leave... Between the three of us at the table, we ordered fried oysters, fried alligator bites, fried shrimp and a fried crawfish po-boy along with some fries and onion rings. I took one bite of the alligator bite appetizer and literally said, "that doesn't taste anything like alligator". To make matters worse, my onion rings tasted just like the alligator. How does an onion ring taste like alligator? When I was served my crawfish po-boy, the crawfish had zero seasoning and were the smallest I had ever seen. My meal was very disappointing. My Mom ordered the shrimp plate and found her meal equally bland and remarked, "the slice of toast and the side salad were the best parts". My stepfather ordered, a fried oyster plate in which the oysters were almost non-existent - his meal with all batter & breading. As part of his meal, my stepfather was able to get a side item from the salad bar in which he got "cold slaw". The slaw was unlike anything I had ever seen (or tasted). It was awful. We ate our food, paid our bill, and left. Once in the parking lot, we all agreed that we will never go back and that a zero-star review is warranted. We visited on March 25th while vacationing in Pierre Part. We were expecting great food since it carries the Landry's name and because it's in South Louisiana, but the food and service were lacking. I never leave reviews but it was enough for me to share. We love seasoning and spicy food, but the fried fish and oysters were overly salty and the oysters had a bad after taste like they were possibly going bad. I got the Shrimp Platter and was excited about the seafood augratin but when it came out I asked where the augratin was and the waitress pointed to a tiny plastic condiment container and said that was it (literally 2 spoonfuls). It was okay, but nothing I'd order again. It certainly didn't hold a candle to Don's Seafood. There was only one waitress that we saw working and she said she was new. We had to wait long periods of time to get the attention of the waitress for refills and then when the kids ball team came in, we knew our service would only get worse with only one waitress. Very disappointed. Come on Landry's, you've got to get better. We were expecting good Cajun food and only got disappointment. read more

First of all, let me say that I've seen the show "Swamp People" and I like it, but that is NOT the reason we went to Pierre Part, LA for lunch. My buddy and I are working on a project and were looking for some "creative inspiration" so we planned a ride to South Louisiana to get some ideas. Along the route, we decided to stop in and have some authentic Cajun cuisine. When we walked in, it seemed as though we had walked in on and interrupted someone's family dinner... we immediately felt like we had intruded, but the staff was like a loving mom that met us at the door and made us feel welcome. We sat down, perused the menu for a minute, then ordered. I ordered a shrimp po-boy, with fries and a bowl of gumbo to start it off. The gumbo was fantastic... absolutely delicious. The po-boy was less interesting. Don't get me wrong- it tasted good, but I've had better. The shrimp was sparse and the bread was basically a hogie roll from the store. Being in the Cajun Country of South Louisiana, I was expecting a po-boy piled with shrimp on a pressed French bread bun, not a plain ole sammich with some shrimp on it. My one glass of unsweet tea ran dry and I didn't even get offered a refill, whilst my buddy cleaned them out of their sweet tea after two and a half glasses. I wasn't super impressed with that, but overall the service was good, so I still left a decent tip. I doubt that I'll ever go back, but that probably has more to do with the fact that Pierre Part, LA is in the middle of nowhere and, while the middle of nowhere is where I usually prefer to ride, I just don't see myself riding all the way out there to have a "just okay" culinary experience. read more

The dining options in Pierre Part are limited but this place is pretty good. There are probably over a dozen "Landry's restaurants" in Southeast Louisiana so I am not sho if they are a chain / related etc... The service was really good, the ladies were very friendly. I had a cheeseburger, and my GF had the seafood plate. I would like to note I had the onion rings with the chee-burger, and the onion rings were very tasty. The menu has a little bit too much fried food for my taste, but if you are in a jam for lunch this place will do. read more

My husband and I drove from Wisconsin house hunting. Landry's restaurant was close to our hotel. I'd read many good reviews plus the online menu was enticing. At 5pm Monday, August 14, 2023 I called about a reservation and was told "for two people" it wasn't needed so we drove the half mile right away. We were seated at a table immediately and a waitress took our drink order and order. My husband ordered the Crab Festival and I the Shrimp Festival. She mentioned a large group showed up "unexpectedly" and she apologized if service was slow. Not sure if the large group was the one seated near us in the dining room with the loud unruly children or in another room , but she was right service was SLOW. She never mentioned the salad bar to us which was mostly depleted, the soup we ordered was brought 30 minutes later after we'd ordered another drink. I like Gumbo, but theirs was salty and not much flavor. Another 40 minutes later the meals were brought. Deep fried items were heavily breaded and way too over cooked ~ breading was hard! The portions were a good amount but we tasted a few items and knew we wouldn't take anything with us. The waitress was surprised we didn't want to go boxes. When I paid for the $76 meal the hostess/cashier asked how our meal was. I said not good at all. She said she was sorry and hoped we'd come back again. I told her we were from out of state and wouldn't. She didn't offer any compensation, a free drink or money off the bill. We left feeling completely disappointed. Our last trip we ate lunch at Crawdaddy's in Shreveport, LA and their food put Landry's to shame. Better prices and service too. read more

Were on a roadtrip from California to Florida and decided to stay in Pierre Part for a couple days. Anddd we decided to take our vegetarian selves to Landrys! The service was A+++ ! The waitress didn't even look at us weird when we didn't order any of what makes the area famous...crawfish, shrimp, alligator, etc. We got the salad bar, a side of sweet potato fries and hushpuppies. After not eating out to restaurants for while, we decided to splurge and order from one of the nicer restaurants here in town, Landry's. We went through waiter app. When we got our food, I was surprised at how little it was. Just the basic dish we ordered. Crawfish etouffee, rice, and shrimp fettuccine No salad, no sides, no bread, not even enough utensils. You would think after paying $70. (Including waiter tip) we would have had a great meal. We stumble across this restaurant by accident. We had been driving around the Pierre Part area & searched our GPS for seafood restaurant. The outside looked nice & when we walked inside it had a feel of a small town diner so I was thinking this could go two ways :-) Staff was very friendly food was awesome. Salad bar was delicious & very clean. My husband had the combo plate of frog legs & fish I had comb of shrimp & Gator bites both plates were seasoned & cooked perfectly and a very hearty helping. I was traveling for my job and one of the local people there we do business with suggested this place. All the plates of food going across the restaurant all looked delicious and huge portions. I ordered a fried catfish and shrimp combo plate with a stuffed potato. The fish and shrimp was about as good as it gets. Also a free salad bar was included. Their macaroni salad was different and delicious. The only thing that got a thumbs down from me was the stuffed potato. It just lacked flavor or was missing something. The servers and staff were very friendly and it was humorous to listen to the locals there talking about fishing on the river. They were upset with people on the other side of the river that did not live there, but would come and fish on their side. Always enjoy these kind of places and the food. read more

I was expecting something better than what was served. I understand that Pierre Part is limited when it comes to restaurants but this was bad. The only two things that were decent was the gumbo and hushpuppies. My Shrimp PoBoy (that I was looking forward to eating) was small and SOAKED in mayo! Zany! Wacky! Between the half-eaten crab on the wall and the reversed hot and cold taps in the men's bathroom, you never know what you'll find. Well, except for crazy good cajun food. You can get frog legs, turtle soup or sauce piquant, or even pieces of nuggetized heaven called crab puppies. No courtbullion, though. :( The kids will be busy with I Spy with the beer cans on the wall, so no worries there. Have them find the iced tea.
