    Shrimp po-boy
    John B.

First of all, let me say that I've seen the show "Swamp People" and I like it, but that is NOT the reason we went to Pierre Part, LA for lunch. My buddy and I are working on a project and were looking for some "creative inspiration" so we planned a ride to South Louisiana to get some ideas. Along the route, we decided to stop in and have some authentic Cajun cuisine. When we walked in, it seemed as though we had walked in on and interrupted someone's family dinner... we immediately felt like we had intruded, but the staff was like a loving mom that met us at the door and made us feel welcome. We sat down, perused the menu for a minute, then ordered. I ordered a shrimp po-boy, with fries and a bowl of gumbo to start it off. The gumbo was fantastic... absolutely delicious. The po-boy was less interesting. Don't get me wrong- it tasted good, but I've had better. The shrimp was sparse and the bread was basically a hogie roll from the store. Being in the Cajun Country of South Louisiana, I was expecting a po-boy piled with shrimp on a pressed French bread bun, not a plain ole sammich with some shrimp on it. My one glass of unsweet tea ran dry and I didn't even get offered a refill, whilst my buddy cleaned them out of their sweet tea after two and a half glasses. I wasn't super impressed with that, but overall the service was good, so I still left a decent tip. I doubt that I'll ever go back, but that probably has more to do with the fact that Pierre Part, LA is in the middle of nowhere and, while the middle of nowhere is where I usually prefer to ride, I just don't see myself riding all the way out there to have a "just okay" culinary experience.

The dining options in Pierre Part are limited but this place is pretty good. There are probably over a dozen "Landry's restaurants" in Southeast Louisiana so I am not sho if they are a chain / related etc... The service was really good, the ladies were very friendly. I had a cheeseburger, and my GF had the seafood plate. I would like to note I had the onion rings with the chee-burger, and the onion rings were very tasty. The menu has a little bit too much fried food for my taste, but if you are in a jam for lunch this place will do.

Everyday there's a new home-made special. You can't go wrong with the gumbo or fish platter. The special is great!

We were looking for a good seafood place to eat as we drove through. We found this place on yelp. The service was friendly. There's a juke box to play music otherwise it's very quiet. The food was filling and tasty. I suggest alligator kickers, they were so good.

Fried Shrimp & Gator bites with sweet potato fries! Delicious! !

We stumble across this restaurant by accident. We had been driving around the Pierre Part area & searched our GPS for seafood restaurant. The outside looked nice & when we walked inside it had a feel of a small town diner so I was thinking this could go two ways :-) Staff was very friendly food was awesome. Salad bar was delicious & very clean. My husband had the combo plate of frog legs & fish I had comb of shrimp & Gator bites both plates were seasoned & cooked perfectly and a very hearty helping. Prices were reasonable we will be back again if in the area.

We had the rudest waitress I have ever encountered, and the worst restaurant crawfish to date.

Asked if I could do my order over the phone to secure some crawfish, but she politely told me I needed to come and go through the drive thru. It's located on the left hand side of LA Hwy 70. There are two seafood places side by side but Craws and Claws is the first one before you get to the lake. Be careful where you turn in at because it's a drive thru set up, so you go in one side and come out of the other. If you mess up like I did, it's easy to turn around, just be careful. There was a dry erase board just off to the side of the drive thru where the whole menu shows you just what they have and the prices. I came on Monday April 26th at 2PM. The menu showed crabs, crawfish, shrimp, both live and boiled, corn, potatoes, sausage, mushroom, garlic, sausage, and more. The lady was so nice both in person and on the phone. She packaged our stuff up so securely and even gave us an extra bag just in case. Our price was $3.99/lb for boiled crawfish but depending on when you come that price will fluctuate. Early on in crawfish season it's pretty expensive, but toward the end of the season, things gets little more affordable. Hands down, that was the best crawfish I've had in a long time. It was spiced just right. We had not even one bad crawfish. It was all great. The potatoes and corn were excellent. The boudin did not disappoint. It was so tasty and delicious. We had a big ol' polar pop to help wash it all down. We paid about $58 and some change for 12lbs of very tasty crawfish....that included 2 orders of potatoes, 2 orders of corn, and 2 pieces of boudin. Not a bad price at all for the amount of food we got. We enjoyed every bit. We will be going back very soon.

She came across as short, unfriendly, and overall not very pleasant. I first ordered a Banana Foster's Martini, but she came back and said they didn't have the ingredients. No problem--I asked for an Espresso Martini instead. A few minutes later, after bringing everyone else's drinks, she returned and simply said they couldn't make that either and asked if I wanted something else. At that point, I just declined. When it was time to order, our table had nine people. She took my husband's order, then went around the table taking everyone else's order. By the time she got back to me, she said, "Okay, is that it?" I had to remind her that she hadn't taken my order yet. I ordered the crab and corn bisque, a salad, and the stuffed catfish with creamed spinach. The salad came out quickly and was very good. Then everyone else at the table received their meals while I only received my bisque. After waiting, I was told my stuffed catfish "didn't come out right" and had to be remade. At that point, I honestly wondered if it was a joke. It wasn't. By the time my entrée arrived, everyone else was nearly finished eating. To the restaurant's credit, they did remove the stuffed catfish from my bill, and I appreciated that. However, the entire experience left me feeling overlooked from start to finish. My biggest suggestion would be for our waitress to work on her customer service. A smile goes a long way. Saying things like "Give me that plate," slamming cups onto the table, and appearing annoyed throughout the meal doesn't create a welcoming dining experience. Hospitality is just as important as the food, and I hope this feedback is taken constructively.
