I am moving into the neighborhood and am looking for local restaurants. The red sangria and garlic shrimp were delicious! The service was impeccable and the restaurant was packed with what seemed to be repeat customers. I will definitely go back and bring more friends with me!

    First time here!

Garlic shrimp, garlic shrimp, garlic shrimp! For years my wife has told me how good the garlic shrimp is at Spain Rincon, and last night I got to see for myself. It was outstanding! The spice and the sauce was so good, especially for bread dipping when the shrimp was gone. As far as everything else with the restaurant, not too impressive. I was warned that from the outside the place looked like a dive, and the inside wasn't much better. That didn't bother me. What did bother me was that we felt rushed through the entire meal. This on a night when there were only a couple of other tables with customers. Besides the shrimp, the rest of the food was good, although not as impressive. Your meal comes with complimentary soup which was nice. Last night it was chicken noodle. For entrées, I had the stuffed scallop special and my wife had chicken francese. Plates of rice and potato chips are served on the table. We also had a small pitcher of sangria which was pretty weak. My recommendation is to stop here for takeout shrimp and go home and enjoy it with a nice bottle of wine!

Passed this place many times and finally stopped in for dinner. Everything was wonderful. Service, beyond reproach. Would recommend.

Ate here on a recent Saturday night with another couple. It was a stormy night and it wasn't that busy in the restaurant. Service was prompt. Ordered a pitcher of sangria. My wife and sister in law said it was good. Ordered Portuguese sausage and garlic shrimp for appetizers. Both were very tasty but both could have been hotter. Appetizers should be piping hot when served. They also give you complimentary lentil soup which was very good as well, but again the temperature of the soup was not hot. They have bread on the table. I ordered filet mignon tips with garlic shrimp. The meat was tender but I don't know what method they use to cook the meat but I don't think it's a professional broiler. See pics. Steak should be charred on the outside. I ordered mine medium rare. The meat was actually like cubes, instead of sliced steak tips. My brother and sister and law ordered the same thing and both said the same thing, the meat wasn't cooked right. My wife ordered filet mignon tips in a mushroom sauce, well done and hers actually looked good. With all that said, I would come again.

Had the stuffed scallops, paella, flan and Tiramisu. This was my 3rd visit. Service was excellent however I thought the paella lacked some flavor. The tiramisu was way better than the flan. The give you soup and bread gratis which I think is nice.

The parking was actually full when we arrived, possibly because of the bar using the same lot. But there is an elevated connected lot for the bowling alley that has plenty of parking. I have to say that the best thing about this place is the service: everyone was very friendly, and quick to attend us. Food was great, except maybe the flake fish (first course). Seemed more Spanish to me than Portuguese though. Portions were huge... actually had leftovers from a dish, which is the first for me from a tasting menu. The prices were reasonable In terms of why I'm giving this 4 star instead of 5: -we were seated at the "Chefs counter", but did not really have a view of the prep, which was really far away. Basically could just see the fireplace. The sister restaurant Heirloom is a much better chef's counter setup where you are seeing everything -Dishes seemed to be regular menu type dishes (just smaller portions), as opposed to super interesting types that you would expect from a tasting menu -Beverage pairing was okay... didn't really love the wines For these reasons, I'd likely return, but just stick to the regular menu/ experience.

Shrimp was perfectly cooked and the flavor/texture was robust and unique. The amount was perfect as well. Then for my 2nd course, squid and chourico, which was also so good. Not as good as the shrimp but the portion was pretty good and I was honestly getting full by the end of this. I finished with the duck paella, which was my favorite of the night. It was perfectly crispy while not tasting burnt, with a rich flavor of the duck, sauce, and little peppers combined. Definitely a unique dish - I'm glad I tried it! I sipped on the red sangria and one bottle lasted me the whole meal. It was a good amount and tasted strong and not too sweet! Service was amazing - my server was Amanda. She was super attentive and easy to talk to. My water was always filled and the timing of the food coming out was perfect! The restaurant had a great vibe inside. It was small but not tight. Decor was bright and airy. Seating/tables were clean. Even though their menu changes, it felt like the menu was uniquely curated for an amazing meal!! Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area!

There was a kale salad that was fresh and bright also very good. The quail dish was tender but succulent. The octopus dish was nicely done but if you like it very tender this might not be to your liking as this is prepared with a bit of chew. Overall food was great but portions small. Now these are tapas so if you tend to eat a lot or you skipped lunch you probably will leave still a bit hungry. The prix fix price of 85 is a bit much I thought for the portions (quail was four small pieces, octopus had three pieces) but given the quality I would still go back. Service was good with water filled without being asked and we were asked if everything was good more than once. One thing to note this is is a very small place so the tables are very close. You will definitely hear conversations of your neighbor. So if you prefer more privacy this may be a problem. Tasca is an excellent addition that is unique in Montclair.

Our group ordered the Seafood Paella and had plenty for leftovers, stuffed sole, branzino, grilled octopus, salad and numerous drinks including their sangria. The Paella was full of flavor and a very large portion, two people ordered one to share and even sharing it with the other three in the group there was a ton left. The stuffed Sole was well sized and filled properly with shrimp, scallops and more. Highly recommend and it was cooked perfectly. The mash potatoes were a miss that came with it not seasoned and bland. The branzino was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The grilled octopus was a little chewy which was disappointing but it was packed with flavor and would try again. Well, let's get started: We sat down. Water and menus came, a drink order was put in, and before we knew it, bread, olives, and a salad (all unordered, all appreciated) appeared. The bread was warm (as God intended) and the salad nicely done up, already with an Italian dressing. The olives were spicy and yummy! Ok - not ordered, but I wasn't going to argue! We ordered a seafood paella - holy moly! It was like a 14" in diameter deep dish when it came out! Tasty, lots of mussels, shrimps, scallops, even a bit of lobster..... wow. I ordered chicken picatta - expecting thin strips of chicken in a nice sauce on top of pasta....damn. I got two flat, pressed chicken breasts on pasta. Can anyone say too big by half??? Wow. Couldn't finish it. And here's where the "food being thrown to us" came in- we got a side of green beans AND a side of seasoned rice AND a side of homemade potato chips (that needed salt but still). Damn. After declining dessert, they STILL brought us 6 little churros with a dark chocolate dipping sauce. WOW. Call me totally amazed. The pricing wasn't outrageous, and the food was absolutely BOUNTIFUL and yummy! The ambiance was amazing- old school in a classy way. And the service was absolutely ON POINT. Can't speak highly enough of this place! Nicely located in Ironbound and close to Newark Penn - will I come again? Yes. But I'll need room at the hotel for the leftovers! Yummy.
