A beautiful venue for a wedding! I came here over the weekend for a celebration of around 150 guests, and there was plenty of space indoors. The outdoor views were stunning, and the reception room was spacious, elegant, and spotless. I also appreciated that the restrooms were conveniently located right next to the main hall. The food was good -- we had both chicken and steak, and while it was pretty typical of Western-style wedding meals, everything was cooked well and enjoyable. The main entry was underwhelming. The receptionist was not very professional in her attire and how we were greeted. The restaurant has great views and the drinks were excellent. Unfortunately the food was very average and the presentation was poor. Spanish Hills Club has a lot of potential but has to seriously work on their food. In closing, many of the guest were dressed in blue jeans and the overall feel was as if we were at an inexpensive restaurant as opposed to an upscale establishment. read more

Recently went to Spanish Hills for the first time. These are my thoughts: Pros: The area was just beautiful. Nice pathways, gardens, great architecture, and just overall a beautiful spot. Lunch was good with attentive service. Not sure if they have a regular menu but I had the chicken with champagne sauce. It came with a side of vegies (very al dente) and homemade mashed potatoes. The sauce was out of this world. Service was efficient and non-intrusive. The dining area part of the venue was pretty large and fit our group of about 150 very nicely. There were also smaller alcove areas where people could sit and talk. The doors also opened up to the outside area with a view of the pool and gardens. Cons: Someone said that they were filming, filming what I have no idea. But that meant we were not allowed to park in the parking lot. We had to park in the street even though we saw plenty of cars in the lot. Just a little inconvenient. Also, the chicken was good, especially with the sauce, but overcooked. If you didn't eat the outside parts, it was okay. Overall, a great event and a nice venue. Hopefully we can go again next year. read more

Ahhh where do I even start! My husband and I got married here in October 2024 and it was an absolute dream. We first toured SHC in July 2023 with Claire and knew right away it was where we wanted to get married. Not only is the venue absolutely stunning but Claire was so helpful and responsive the entire process. SHC even recommended the wedding planner we decided to go with (Jillian Nicole Events) which was just the cherry on top of creating a perfect day. We worked with Cate Parnin and the staff at Spanish Hills Club to have our wedding. It was a dream come true. Spanish Hills Club is an absolutely gorgeous venue with wonderful staff at every level of the club. From the very start, Cate worked with us to get the financials and details together in order for us to make this a reality. And throughout every step of the planning process, Cate was quick to respond, caring, and extremely detailed in her responses. The venue has an indoor rain plan in the case of inclement weather, and while we didn't need to use it, we were thankful it was there. We had our ceremony up against the northern mountains and the views were incredible. The indoor reception space is spacious and fitting for up to 150 or so people to occupy. They have many options to choose from, including a cappuccino bar, which our guests and us took full advantage of during the later parts of the evening. We have no regrets in choosing Spanish Hills Club as our wedding venue. It does NOT GET BETTER than Spanish Hills!!! Almost 2 weeks after having my wedding here, I feel so grateful to have found such a stunning venue with top notch customer service. VIEWS First off - you literally just cannot beat the views here. INCREDIBLE. Especially on a day with good weather, the rolling mountains take my breath away every time. So many of our guests took pictures overlooking the beautiful vista point. And let's not forget - the sunset here during cocktail hour is just magical - you have to experience it to believe it! VENUE I believe the venue was remodeled recently - which was so worth it because WOW. The entrance and reception space are so grand and elegant. The stunning interiors include a bar, elegant chiavari chairs, and cozy (and lit) fireplaces that really set the mood. CATERING We worked very closely with Claire - and she's just absolutely amazing. We asked her SO many questions throughout the process, but she always handled everything with so much patience and grace. I am forever grateful for her help - we couldn't have done it without her!! She's such a great person. She helped accommodate a handful of people with severe food allergies as well, which I was forever grateful for. Additionally - the food was SO DELICIOUS!!! Claire worked with us to create one fully custom dish - Chicken Tikka Masala with rice - as part of our buffet...and I kid you not, I've never had a better version! The chefs killed it with that dish and all the other dishes! The appetizers were insanely good as well!! All our guests were raving about the food served at our wedding. I'm so grateful my mother found Spanish Hills. I was about to give up on having a wedding and then this beautiful venue was discovered. VENUE I booked the venue in 2022 and then they had some remodeling on the club side. As a bride you get nervous when a venue changes after you sign a contract but Claire was in communication every step of the way + got weekly updates through the clubs newsletters. And all the remodeling was worth it. The ceremony and reception space are so elegant and was fitting for the villa vibe we were going for. You can't go wrong with all the black accents which will match any color theme. CATERING Claire is a ROCKSTAR - and she's just a wonderful person. We asked her SO many questions throughout the process, she even reach out to a vendor to explain the liability insurance for me. She worked seamlessly with my wedding coordinator to accommodate food allergies, menu finalization and so much more. You can always count on her which was so wonderful to trust someone. Additionally - the food & drinks were AMAZING!!! One thing with events is that the food & drink are what people remember most and Spanish Hills did not disappoint. We got so many compliments from guest saying how much they loved the food & how good the drinks were. I choose a signature drink "lemon drop" and it was probably the best I've ever had. Lastly, as a bride you don't always get to eat everything and I request the staff to make me a "to go box" for after the reception and they gladly accommodated so I could try everything. Oh and don't forget the appetizers at cocktail hour!!! They are to die for and are so filling. VIEWS The views are INCREDIBLE. Our wedding was in June so we had the perfect warm/cold ocean sun + clouds. Our guest were in awww of the views and took pictures overlooking the beautiful vista point. In the CA market where things are skyrocketing for weddings you get your money's worth and so much confidence they will execute your day perfectly. I didn't know I had a dream venue until I saw Spanish Hills Club. My breath was completely taken away and I looked at my fiance at the time and said this is it, we're getting married here! I cannot say enough good things about this venue. All of my guest kept complimenting how beautiful the setting was for our ceremony and the reception hall was absolutely beautiful. We didn't need a ton of additional decorations because of how beautiful everything was. Communication: Claire was wonderful to work with, she guided us through the process from start to finish and was always available when we had questions or changes that needed to be made to the event. She always advised us of what needed to happen by when so we had a clear timeline to make decisions so our day went perfectly. Vendors: Spanish Hills provided us with a wonderful vendor list and everyone we worked with was absolutely amazing. The DJ from Bouquet Sound (Matt Nasby), our Photo Booth attendant Nelson (also Bouquet Sound), and our day of Coordinator Cari from All Occasions Event Planning made sure our day went exactly how we imagined it would. They knew the venue and knew the space, and were true experts. We didn't have to worry about a thing, and they always made sure to check in on us during the day and let us know what would be happening next. I couldn't have asked for better people to work with for our wedding. Food: Sometimes food at weddings can be a bit lack luster, but not at Spanish Hills. All of our guests raved about the food and the service. We opted for a carving station which was the highlight for the buffet and a real stand out. In addition, there was a cappuccino station with an attendant who did foam art. It was truly an amazing experience for us and our guests. Overall, it was the experience that stood out to us at the end of the day. Everyone worked together to provide us with a memory that will last forever. All of us, myself, guests, and vendors had a very positive experience during my wedding at Spanish Hills. Lupe and Christen were very easy to communicate with and responded quickly to inquiries. I also got numerous compliments from my vendors about how professional the staffs at Spanish Hills were. They have a preferred vendors list, but they let us use the vendors that we wanted to have as long as they had proof of insurance. Officiant did not need to be insured. I had sprung a couple things that I wasn't planning to do with short notice onto Lupe (I wasn't planning to do a rehearsal dinner, but event coordinator strongly recommended it). She handled the situation with great expertise. My family really enjoyed their rehearsal dinner. She also gave great recommendations on when to start and stop the wedding. She knew the times when the sun would go down and when it would be appropriate to do rehearsal or start the ceremony months ahead of the actual wedding date. She was a great guide and almost like a wedding coordinator herself. My family, vendors, and guests were also blown away by the facilities. My family loved the outdoor wedding setup and the scenic backdrop. All of my wife's friends changed their social media backgrounds to the view they saw at Spanish Hills after the wedding. Lol. The photographers and videographer were really impressed with the lighting and said it was a great place to take pictures. We also had a guest count ~100 and the reception hall felt very spacious and clean. It was big enough to perform the Korean traditional Paebaek ceremony. We also had a photobooth and karaoke setup. I also was worried about having that number of guests in the same room during a COVID spike, but the room felt well ventilated and it appeared that the guests were all safe (fingers crossed). In regards to food, the guests and vendors were very happy. Hors d'oeuvre ran out quickly because the guests ate them all really fast. Lol. Remaining three course meal was fantastic. Also, the kid's meal is not to be underestimated. I had great reviews from the parents. Some of the kids liked it more than the filet mignon dish they had! In summary, I strongly recommend a place like this to hold events. Pricing of event varies based on the day selected (Saturday is the highest minimum spending requirement, Sunday is the second highest, and then there are other days). This is my review of Spanish Hills Club as a wedding venue. We held my daughters wedding here last weekend and it was simply gorgeous! The ceremony was outside facing the hills, and it was breathtaking. We decided against any additional decor outside and it was the best idea. Let the views, the venue and the bridal party shine! The staff at Spanish Hills was attentive and kind. They took care of everything! We were thrilled with the whole event! Every person we spoke to during our event was professional and helped us as best as they could. Food was so delicious! We chose breakfast for dinner and Christen arranged for a brunch buffet for us. It was so amazing! Guests loved it! There were so many options, something for everyone! People kept commenting on how great everything tasted and what a fun idea it was. They even created vegan breakfast dishes for our vegan guests and they were thrilled. They assigned a server for the couple, which was so nice. She brought them food and drinks so they didn't need to worry about it. The decor is simple, classy and allowed us to add our own items to get the soft romantic feel that my daughter wanted. We were missing a table when we first got there, but once our coordinator asked about it, the table was brought out. We had 12 guest tables and that left plenty of food for dancing, and areas for guests to gather and chat. The bar area had 4 cocktail tables for people to stand and gather, which was nice too! The bartenders were very helpful and got through the lines quickly. Another thing that impressed us that it had been pouring rain for days prior to our event. (Huge storms of March 2023) We were worried about it actually raining that day, but thankfully it did not. The grass was not muddy, squishy or flooded feeling at all! Guests easily walked in the grass as did the wedding party with no issues! Whoever designed their landscaping did a great job! We did rent heaters for during cocktail hour, which was a blessing! We rented 4 heaters, wish we had more! Less than perfect things: there is no real bridal suite. You use the front woman's restroom to get ready, which is fine, but there is no place to store things. You literally have to drag everything out to your car. This was stressful for us. I wish they had a closet or some place where we could have kept some of our items so we didn't have to keep running out to the car. You only get one hour to pack everything up afterwards. It may sound like enough time, but we had glass vases that needed to be wrapped in bubble wrap so we were super rushed! The staff was eager to break down all the tables and everything so they could go home. Miscommunication between the catering and us. They put out all their dessert items with dinner (buffet had some small desserts and we paid extra for an ice cream sundae bar). I asked then to cover the desserts but they refused. They said everything from them goes out at once. So people ate that with their dinner, and when it was time to cut cake no one was hungry anymore, so we wasted a lot of desserts we brought. They were only following instructions, but it bugged me because we wasted money on desserts that were not enjoyed by our guests. But the guests didn't know about the original plan, so... The positives way outweigh the few tiny issues. I would whole heartedly recommend Spanish Hills Club for any event! My daughter and her new husband were thrilled with everything about their wedding! My son and daughter-in-law got married here on Sept 8th 2024 and we have nothing but great things to share about our experience. All our expectations were met with the assistance of Claire Handville! We saw a few venues and my daughter-in-law's eyes were caught by Spanish hills. The beauty of the site didn't compare to the treatment we received. We set an appt for a tour and that's when we met and built a relationship with Claire. She took her time by walking us through the process of making our dream wedding come true. We appreciated every email that was answered and every change that was made. With no hesitation and quick response, Claire made sure all of our requested were fulfilled. Once we took our first tour of the venue, we immediately fell in love with the grounds. The photos that are provided online, do not do the venue justice. In person, the entire location was breathtaking with the view of the valley, the ambiance inside aligned with the vision we had for the wedding, and all guests were more than impressed. Now, let's talk about the FOOD! Our family and friends appreciate good food. The variety of food was superb with the short rib, sea bass, and butternut ravioli we choose for the menu. The sides were a great addition to our entrees such as broccolini, Brussels sprouts, wild rice, risotto, and smashed potatoes. These selections were a great pair with the caprese and merlot and poached pear salads. Our guests raved about the food and was highly complimented. Overall, the experience with Spanish Hills was excellent and stress free (as you feel in most wedding) with the help from Claire and our coordinator Rochelle (@abovethebarevents). Rochelle went above and beyond catering to my son (the groom) and daughter-in-law (the bride) throughout the entire day of the wedding. She was clear on the expectations and her role with her assitaunt to make sure the entire day went smoothly. Myself, along with the bride and groom, did not have to lift a finger that day, putting our minds at ease, knowing that we were being taken care of. Came here for my cousin's wedding in July. The good: beautiful place. The garden was beautifully maintained. The grounds were super clean. The views were spectacular. The appetizers and chocolate covered strawberries were the only food that was delicious. The bad: The main entree was horrible. I chose the beef and it was over cooked. We weren't able to say how we liked our steaks cooked, but my goodness, it was dry and tough. It's sad when the appetizers are much better than the entree. My daughter held their wedding and reception at Spanish Hills! The venue is gorgeous and views are amazing! When picking a venue there is more that goes into it than the appearance of the site and I can completely recommend Spanish Hills based on the food and service as well. Sometimes wedding food is so bad, but not at Spanish Hills! We had 110 guests and a sit-down dinner. The food was so yummy! Guests could choose from veg ravioli, filet mignon or salmon. I personally tried all three and they were all great, but imo the steak was the best! We added a few extras to our event that I would highly recommend: the welcome sip was awesome, as guests arrived they were offered champagne or apple cider. What a wonderful and classy way to begin the evening! Cocktail hour was beautiful by the pool and the bar tenders were really fast. At dinner we opted for a table-side wine pour where the servers offered wine to each guest. So if you can add the welcome sip and the wine pour, definitely do it! The two fireplaces in the room offer such perfect ambiance. We didn't have to set up one thing nor did we have to worry about anything the day of the wedding. Be prepared to make your last payment with a cashiers check, which isn't a big deal. My only slight complaint would be the servers collected dishes very quickly so my water was gone when I came back from dancing and I never saw the coffee bar. I saw guests with coffee though, so it was there, I just missed it. We had a dessert bar so I would suggest setting up the coffee closer to the cake/dessert area instead of in a corner where people might miss it. I attended a weeding at this location at the end of June. The view is gorgeous and the weather was great. With this location being at the same elevation as the ocean, you get a nice breeze when it's extremely hot in the valley. From the begging to the end, the service by everyone here was amazing. Despite it being a country club and not a restaurant, the food was also good. If you're looking to do your weeding here and can afford around $600 a person charge, I would totally recommend you this place. read more

He has yet to return four phone calls regarding an accident with one of his golf carts driven by a young man that had not been authorized to use it and did not sign a release of liability. Spanish Hills - namely the GM Kasey has been dodging us and shirking his responsibility to represent the club in a professional and responsible manner. The GM, ignoring an issue, where clearly Spanish Hills is partly to blame being the registered owner of the golf cart, is an absolute embarrassment to the club itself. He (and Spanish Hills) are fortunate there was only automobile damage and not personal injury. read more

One, the venue insisted we use one of their wedding planners. On the day of the wedding, the planner was dressed unprofessional and she rushed events quickly and left early. The food was great at the tasting, however, the food was horrible the day of wedding. There was an hour or so between the salad coming out and the main course. The steak was super rare and tasteless. The other 2 dishes lacked in flavor as well. Then the venue threw the cake out without asking the bride and groom what they wanted to do with the left overs. But decked out for the party the place transformed into a truly gorgeous party venue. Red velvet couches strewn all over the main party area was so sexy hot! It got my senses on a 5 alarm alert! Long feathers on tall vases sits atop red velvet covered bar table.... Top shelf wines flowed that night. Hot girls on stilts and ala Cirque Du Soleil... So cool! My wife and I got married there a few nights ago in New Year's Eve. To say it was the best night of our lives would be an understatement, and the staff at Spanish Hills did everything in their power to make it that way. Lupe was extremely helpful throughout the process and was very responsive. My wife and I live in Sacramento so trying to plan a wedding that's a 5 hour drive away was difficult. Without being able to hop in the car and run over to the venue, Lupe made everything so simple for us. On the actual wedding day, the food was incredible, bartenders speedy, and wait staff was as nice as can be. As a Wedding Planner, I have done many Weddings since 2000 at Spanish Hills. I even did one last night and felt compelled to write a review. It's always one of my favorite locations to work at. Service: Spanish Hills has always had amazing service. Christen and Lupe are always responsive and helpful during the planning process. I can't say enough about them as a team. They work hard to ensure every event is smooth. And they are always open for a little creativity when my Couples request it. The day-of staff are also great. Jeff the Banquet Captain and Renee the lead Bartender are always helpful, positive and polite. Food: Food at Spanish is always yummy and they are great about dietary restrictions. Venue: They did a remodel in 2020 and its beautiful inside and out. I love that the inside is a blank slate, the floor to ceiling windows make it a beautiful space to say "I Do!" A couple tips: 1. If available, buy-out the pool for the Adults only. On occasion kids will be playing in the pool at the time of your Ceremony. I recommend spending a little more to ensure that space is more private. **if you choose not to do the buy-out don't worry, its not super loud. Just a nice addition if you can do so. 2. Hire a planner. To ensure the day is smooth and well planned prior, your planner will ensure all of the details are ready and they'll communicate with the staff. 3. Plan for cocktail hour to be during the golden hour, for photos! The view plus the sunset is a dream! I got married at Spanish hills in February and everything was absolutely perfect! The staff was amazing and helpful from start to finish in this process. We had awesome day-of staff who helped add to the experience with their good vibes! Everyone was attentive and helped make sure we were good the whole time. It was nice to have such kind and caring humans around to help! Between Spanish Hills staff & my coordinator- I had no worries, and if something went wrong, I had no idea! I recently went to the Topa Restaurant. The new interior is very classy & warm. Service was Amazing! Tried new dishes! Completely recommend the Chicken Parmesan for dinner! The cocktail menu was innovative and delicious. read more

Had the opportunity to try out the recently opened Topa restaurant. And WOW the renovation from top to bottom is surreal. The bar with the overlooking view is as good as it gets. They have a whole new array of entrees and cocktails, and we loved all the drinks and plates we chose. Our server Christian always made sure we were taken care of as quick as possible. NEW MANAGEMENT. POTENTIAL WEDDINGS BEWARE! We were one of the few weddings to had the pleasure of working with the previous management team and the absolute displeasure of working with the new management team spearheaded by Christen. The venue itself is beautiful and the event staff are all kind and do their job well. No complaints at all there. FOOD TASTING: When we came for our food tasting the wrong food was served. And we were not able to ask any questions since Christen was nowhere to be found. On top of that we were charged for wine, champagne, and the extra sides we wanted to try. We had to get the charges removed. All in all.. a horrible experience. BEFORE THE EVENT: Just a few weeks before the event Christen called us complaining about how hard it is to find staffing and that the cost for staffing was higher than they anticipated. Her decision was to then call the bride and tell her that she needs to cover the additional cost for staff or cut our guest list. And was extremely rude. Both families had to be involved and a major stress on all of us until they finally dropped this and covered the costs as they should because it's what was written in the contract. Again... this was a common theme we saw once new management was introduced. NIGHT OF THE WEDDING: The bride asked Christen for shots for herself and her bridesmaid party and was told NO. We very specifically were told that we could serve shots at the wedding... on top of shots not being served, they also didn't serve drinks on top of ice. They told the father of the bride he could not have a whiskey on ice. Imagine that? Telling the host of the event they couldn't have a drink? After we paid for premium bar also. They gave us trouble for trying to reserve seats during the wedding ceremony for the bridal and groomsmen party. Seems like a pretty normal ask but of course they had an issue with it... even though it was discussed at length prior to the wedding. SEVERAL PEOPLE came to us during and after the wedding and mentioned how rude Christen was that night. Including the people very close to the wedding party. Our email to Christen asking for any explanation as to why shots weren't served at the wedding was completely ignored as well. The Spanish Hills Management team and Christen specifically are the one part of our wedding we hope we forget. Think long and hard before you consider booking your wedding here. A few good things just so I am being fair - it is a beautiful venue 100% - the food was absolutely delicious and probably the best food I've had at a wedding ever. Review from a wedding coordinator. Amazing venue and great experience . Christen was our contact person and pleasure to work with, very quick in her email responses and very thorough in all explanations a really nice person. She offered great ideas throughout the planning process and was super flexible to our ideas as well. Day of the event, the wait staff was amazing. Everyone is really nice and went out of their way to help guests. I witnessed a guest being rude to a server, which always a nightmare to have to see, and the server handled it with grace. Our captain, Jeff, was really great... he was on top of every detail and had a great personality. Our bartender, Renee was also great... super friendly and accommodating. The venue itself is beautiful. The views are amazing. The grounds are well kept. Would recommend this venue to my clients and would request Christen as our contact person. read more
