Working with Teri, Jocelyn, Jason, and the Plated Events team was a wonderful experience. They took the time to make our wedding at Limoniera Ranch a success. From the initial consult, the tasting, to the appetizer/dinner, they made sure everything ran smoothly. We had 2 vegetarians on our invite list, and the staff made sure to remember their requests. Each of our guests commented on how good the food was and everything came out promptly on time. We can go on and on about how wonderful the team is but here is the one thing that really mattered to me most: I am sure that this team has a mountain of experience in the number of successful weddings they've executed vs. us who had zero experience. It would be understandable if they would have treat us like newcomers and steer us in a direction or second-guess our decisions/opinions. However, the team at Plated Events never once made us feel small based on any of our requests, however big or small. Plated events catered our wedding at Bella vista groves. They were on our list of recommended vendors and after speaking with Teri, we decided to book with them. I loved working with Teri. . She was always very quick to respond and was always ready to hand over recommendations for anything I needed for my wedding. Jocelyn was also great to work with, although we never met, she was great at responding in emails.. Austin was our day of event manager and he was awesome! The food was delicious & all of our guests loved it (which was a surprise to me because my family is extremely picky!) everything was set up beautifully and worked with me when I needed to make changes last minute. We got married at Limoneira Ranch on September 29, 2018. We did our research on venues, and Limoneira was the first place we visited. After visiting several others, it was very clear to both of us that none of these other venues compared. It was literally, love at first sight. Limoneira is naturally beautiful, and the staff at Plated Events was very easy to work with. Teri was quick to reply to emails, Austin and the rest of the staff were very helpful on the day of, Tim was a superstar and ran our bar like a champ, and best of all, the food was absolutely delicious! There are tons of options to choose from for the menu - we loved what we picked and felt it went perfectly with our style and with the rustic feel of the venue. I also loved that the salmon was something I've never had before with strawberries on top and all of my guests loved it. We had our wedding at Limoneira Ranch back in August. We had the pleasure of using Plated Events with Jason. Everything was done with professionalism. My husband and I couldn't be happier with the service and the food. Everything was just delicious, especially the salmon with the strawberry sauce (so good). The biggest thing that I was very pleased with was the fact Jocelyn (Jason's wife) handled our diet restriction (as Muslims, we eat Halal meat) like a pro. The chicken and some some of the other stuff were halal, got the meat from a Halal Market in the area. My wife and I chose Plated Events as our wedding caterers and OMG we could not be happier with the incredible food and service they provided! At roughly 40$ per person the price was half of what other caterers are charging, and the quality, presentation and service were impeccable! We would have gladly paid 80-100$ a plate (if we had the budget for it) for the quality of food provided. I am honestly a bit baffled about how we received such an amazing product and stellar service for such a modest price. We had a fun time tasting different dishes at our tasting and the chefs were great with helping us decide which dishes would best suit our tastes and our guests. They detailed how they would cater to our vegan guests as well. We had lumpia rolls, a wonderful antipasto platter and carne asada tacos as appetizers, and for dinner we had chicken fajitas, tri-tip, stuffed portobello mushrooms, mashed potatos, asparagus, and grilled focaccia bread! YUM! The staff was AMAZING. The bartender was well prepared and efficient, the cocktails came out looking and tasting great and she had a wonderful and jovial personality which was a joy for me and all of our guests. The wait staff was happy and smiling, and made their rounds ensuring that our guests were well fed and tended too. During the dinner service, they helped my aunt who walks with a cane so that she wouldn't need to stand in line at the buffet. They were very attentive to my wife and I especially, checking on us to see if we needed drinks, food, cake, etc. I highly recommend Plated Events to everyone, they really hit a home run with our wedding and I am so glad that we chose them. read more

Plated Events catered my wedding as well on 10/1. Prior to the wedding day they were great and the food was great at our food trial. My only hiccup before the wedding was they did not remember that 6-7 months prior I had booked my rehearsal with them, and 3 weeks before emailed me saying another wedding was rehearsing that day and requesting I chose another time. I was lucky because I had a record of my confirmation with them of my scheduling that day and time 6-7months prior. I was able to keep my time, but had to be out of the venue at Limoneira by 1 hour after our start time. The day of the wedding, and after is where most of our issues occurred. Based on previous conversations, I was under the impression Teri or Jocelyn would be there on my wedding day( and our contract included day of vendor coordinator), but neither was there. The gentleman who assisted us was sweet but I felt tricked because I had never met him and was told Jocelyn and Teri were doing the larger wedding that they booked. So on my wedding day I had a brand new face that hadn't been a part of our discussions at all over the past year. My wedding night, my actual food and the grooms was cold (my response from Jocelyn is that we likely left our table, which we didn't) and several guests told us afterwards that their food was too (some was hot), and guests complained to me afterwards regarding the servers negative attitude towards them. We ran out of hot coffee within an hour , and guests were told that they only had enough for one batch, after my father in law wasted a significant amount of time complaining to the servers that we should have more coffee per our contract, he was successful (90 minutes later). About 2 weeks after my wedding , I reached out to Jocelyn about these issues (and a few others to notify her because she wasn't there to see what her business is doing and I thought she would value the information so her business can thrive), and also asked when I could expect my $500 damage deposit back. She said she would mail my check and by the end of the week and also offered an additional $150 for inconveniences... after 3 weeks I got nothing in the mail and reached out again. I was told that she ran out of checks and would mail something by the end of the week, 2 weeks later I got an envelope for a check for $180. I reached out to her and she apologized and said she would send another check for the remaining amount. About a week later I received a check for $320, equaling my $500 damage deposit, but I have yet to receive the $150 she offered, and am done pursuing it. Our wedding was 120 guests, and another review had a wedding catered by them on the same day and hd 320 guest and gave an excellent review. I suppose they put more effort and time to where the money is. read more

Plated Events catered our recent wedding ceremony at Serra Cross Park in Ventura, and cocktail hour and reception at the San Buenaventura Mission. The food and service were fantastic and we received many compliments from our guests! They were accommodating to our specific menu requests, very responsive, provided lots of helpful guidance, and were reasonably priced. The bar service was great too and helpful during the planning process. In addition to catering and bar service - they did so much more! They were our main point of contact for our ceremony and reception site, and provided guidance to our wedding planner and vendors for virtually all of our needs. Teri, Jocelyn and the entire team made us feel very at-home and special from the first step to the very last. We felt very taken care of - thank you! We put on our daughter's wedding reception at the Ventura Ag museum in Santa Paula, for 240 guests. The food was fantastic. How often do you have guests rave about wedding food? You don't hear it from us, usually. Chef Jason and his team put together a fantastic meal of tritip and carnitas for us. They even did churros as a special favor because that was something our bride wanted. They were efficient, kind, and great at being friendly with the guests. That and the great food - what a success! They do a package of rentals, too. The tables, China, etc. And you should see that museum all lit up for the evening. We couldn't be more pleased with the whole event. read more

Plated Events hosted our Wedding on 10/1/16. The 320 person reception was hosted at the San Buenaventura Mission in Ventura California. Teresita was our point person and master of the operation. Plated Events comes equipped with the food, tables, linens, dinnerware, bartenders, servers, set-up, and clean up. They made this entire process a breeze. Everything we asked for was provided. There was an initial food tasting, my husband and I made the selections and those exact choices were served the day of the Wedding. All the employees were extremely professional. My husband and I had our wedding at Limoneira Ranch on 7/14/17. It was such an amazing day. Plated Events catered our event and we were very fortunate to have them. The food was absolutely amazing (my husband and I had been looking forward to it since we had our menu tasting!) Austin and the staff were AWESOME!!! I loved him and Angelica ( not sure spelling, but she was my favorite :) ). My favorite appetizer was the toasted ravioli....OMG...AMAZING!!! I made that very clear, so while we were taking our pictures during cocktail hour, they always had platters of the toasted ravioli waiting for us. Read this before having your event at Limoniera Ranch served by their caterer, Plated Events by Chef Jason. Unfortunately, the selection and presentation of food served during the tasting was different than what was served at the event. The original antipasto platter at the tasting was impressive, and included fruit and prosciutto rolls, but those were missing at the event without any other items being substituted for them (contrary to the contract). The medallions of beef included whole button mushrooms at the tasting, but at the event the mushrooms were thinly sliced and the medallions where less than bite-size !. When it was time to be served, the servers on the buffet line were rationing out all the food, starting with the head table, as if they were worried that there was not going to be enough food for the 95 people attending. An 88 year old woman in line was even told she would have to get back in line if she wanted a portion of the second entree being served. A number of guests commented on the minimal portions, which was extremely embarrassing for the host. At no time were we ever told that our guests would have to choose between entrees, not at $59.00 a plate! The servers were all very young and could have been better trained. I will say that the food we were served was very good. I just wish we had been served more of it. By the way, the review below, from 2013, had not been recommended by Yelp and was not included on the main page for this business. If it had, I would have raised my concerns with Plated Events before booking with them. Seems like there were similar issues that have still not changed! Donna S.
