Our cabin was clean and well kept. The main complaint we had with it was that there was no curtain over the door. Although no one could see into our cabin from a neighboring one, people do pass very close to each other's cabins on walkways leading down to the beach, and in the course of that someone might very easily have seen in. Other cabins didn't appear to have this problem, and since the door looked new, the management may still be in the process of finishing that upgrade. I didn't take any pictures of the cabin, unfortunately, though I thought the ones on Red Lodge's web site accurately represented what we found. The bathroom was also clean, though there is a very large water heater tank out in plain view. The shower shelf was too narrow to store shampoo/soap bottles well, and the shower is dark--the light in the bathroom is positioned so little illumination makes it to the shower stall. But, while you're in there you can count on hot water. The kitchen doesn't have an oven or stove, though there is a two-burner hot plate for cooking. A gas grill is out on the deck. Utensils/cookware were in good condition, something that can't be said of many other rental cabins. A Keurig coffeemaker is included with the room. A few brewing cups are provided, but it would be a good idea to bring your own if you're staying for more than a night. There is a restaurant on premises which we tried one night. My wife had the roast beef, I got pan fried whitefish. They were both just fair. My wife's beef was a little dry and my whitefish was oily--maybe a little too much grease in that pan? The breading on my fish was overly herby. The side vegetables were out of a freezer. Not a bad dinner, but overpriced given the quality of it. The lounge on the other hand was very comfy, with a rustic, north-woodsy feel. The beer menu includes some local brews. Board games and cards, which you can take back to your cabin, area available there. Aside from the accommodations, I was really impressed with just how quiet the lake and the general area are. Rarely heard or saw boats on the lake or heard noise coming from nearby cabins. A very relaxing getaway spot I'd have no problem returning to.

We had a couple of local craft beers to start from the Split Rail Brewery. I had a lager and my wife had the Hawberry Ale which is brewed from locally picked Hawe berries. She had the chicken Caesar wrap and enjoyed it. I had the beef fajitas which were hot and tasty and nicely spiced. There are not many restaurants still open on the island we found as it seems Covid lockdowns etc have sent some business into receivership and others just haven't reopened. A good place for a solid meal.

Right on the corner in down town, little current is such a great place. Not really a tourist town, but a great small town. And this place, with its decent door, and large windows over looking the street is the place where all of the cross sections of the town come together. I will admit to this being my favorite diner in the world. I love this place, and am biased because of all the times I have been here throughout my life, but I insist you go. Have the fries and vinegar, and a coke. Just sit back relax, and watch a very simple world slowly move past.

For those towing, the manager knows the owner of the adjacent hardware store, and they can make parking your rig next door doable. Easy walking access to food, hardware, the Beer Store, grocery store. Slight walk further into town, coffee shop, dining at the Anchor Inn, and boat docks.

This niggardliness caused me to dock the conference center a whole star. And when we called the front desk we were told they'd already given all the extra pillows away! Hello! That's the market telling you something. Also I think they thought when we were asking for a handicap-accessible room we meant a handicapped accessibility room, one that stopped short of being a fully useful bathroom, with all components of the bathroom, tub and all. Ours had only a shower in it. So it was handicapped in the sense that there was no tub. Perhaps indigenous peoples don't use any pillows when they're sleeping in their wigwams. So maybe it's asking a lot of them to provide two or even three pillows, one for between the knees, one to clutch onto..., one for under the head. The tradition of the berdache, or two-spirit people, was a welcome thing to see among Canada's diversity pledge and tradition.

Very little litter along the trails. We were unable to hike two portions of the trail system because access to them was blocked by high water (lake levels are way up this year). Be sure to ask at the visitor center what conditions on the trails are like. And maybe come prepared to do some wading.
