Believe the 3.6 stars on Yelp and 3.7 stars on Google. I wish I had, but I was in desperate need of a pedi! I came here last Saturday for a gel pedicure. Upon entry, I was greeted and they had immediate availability. I was so excited that I wouldn't have to wait to be serviced. The salon is cute, cozy, beautifully decorated, and definitely provided a relaxing atmosphere. I give them a star for the ambiance and also a star for being seen so quickly. The pedicure itself was mid. I am worried about the condition of my toenails once I get my next pedicure. I felt like he used like a nail cutting tool or something to scrape the the toe nail bed on my big toes (I didn't watch the entire time so idk if he did every nail). I requested the gel color DD131 (it was the Princesss Jasmine color). He came back with a color that was lighter, but I couldn't see the color number on it. He asked if the color was okay and I told him it was because I chose the Princess Jasmine color to step out of my comfort zone. I figure I would give it a try. The first coat was pretty sheer. Based off that, I knew he would do three coats. He did not. He only did two coats. My big toe chipped 3 days later. Idk if the gel is old of it was because he only did 2 coats (the more coats, the stronger). Very disappointed that I will have to walk around with a chipped toe until my next appointment. I do not live in Brandywine, so I did not reach out to have it fixed. When I got home, I took a closer look and just saw how this was not a neat job at all. Definitely not returning. Updated this review to give it 1 star. To be honest it would receive 0 stars if it could. I frequented this nail salon almost once per month while i lived in DC this go around (16 months). On my very last visit to this establishment, they cut the living crap out of my dominant hand index finger. To say I was unhappy would be an understatement. It throbbed terribly for about 24 hours and was very sensitive, even while bandaged for several more days. I've been there twice. Both times were on a Friday. Once at 11am and once at 4pm. Both times my dealings with the nail tech, Katie, was great. She doesn't talk a lot, to me or the other techs. She appears to take her time but not a long time. 45 mins was a fill and hand painted designs on 4 fingers. That's a huge plus in my book. She's done a great job on my nails. I'm very picky about my nails and so far, I'm pleased and will be going back. My nails have held up well. I have an acrylic overlay that she did. The only hang up is she doesn't do the unique styles. Like duck nails or the nails with all the bling. I don't get that but my daughter wanted to go with me. The person who answers the phone takes getting used to... she's a little rude. read more

Got my nails done here in November for my wedding. Although they looked beautiful initially, I was not completely satisfied since I got a fungus/infection. First, I selected the pedicure package with the 15min massage. After only five minutes, the woman stopped massaging me. I said "excuse me, is that part of the 15min massage?" She rolled her eyes and continued to massage me. Did not feel good, and I actually told her not to worry about it after 4 min of unenthusiastic rubbing. My next complaint came after a few weeks of having my gel mani and pedi. I took off the gel from my toes and found that one of my toe nails had come completely off (likely due to fungus/infection). I've never had an issue like this before, so I thought it was something I had done. But after removing the rest of the gel from my toes, I discovered a large brown spot under my big toe nail. It's definitely a fungus! I'm not sure how things are sanitized here, and definitely wouldn't come back (as pretty as my nails were!). read more

Sparendipty is my new relaxation haven!! Two weekends ago I had an amazing massage, and basic mani/pedi. It is a very serene environment, friendly staff, and all at a reasonable cost. I went in just as they were opening at 9 am as a walk in. The receptionist was very welcoming and answered all of my first time visit questions. The checkin process is quick and easy with an iPad that you enter your name, service, and phone number. Thankfully someone was a no show for their 9:30 massage and I got the appointment. My masseuse was Pepper and she was attentive to my problem areas that I mentioned. She also did my pedi. She had cookies and tea waiting for me when I came out of the massage room. She did a great job with my pedi and polish. For my mani I had Katie. She was really sweet and did an excellent job with my mani. Unlike other nail techs of places I've been she did not hurt my cuticles. The polish was beautiful and lasted almost an entire week which is understandable because I did not get gel polish. I visited Sparenity the Nail Lounge for the first time on August 24th, which was my wedding anniversary and purchased a full set gel nails with acrylic extensions. Connie was my nail technician, and I informed her that I wanted the squoval nail shape. I asked Connie if she was familiar with the shape because a lot of people aren't. She said she was familiar with the shape. By the end of my service, I was charged $60 for oval shape nails. Connie didn't push back my cuticles, she didn't cut the hangnails around the nails, and I didn't receive any lotion on my hands before exiting the nail lounge. Another thing that was frustrating during my service, Connie was taking calls to the nail lounge and manning the front desk as she serviced me. I was finally able to get an appointment with her and I'm so glad my friend suggested her. Ms Katie was definitely worth the wait! Today Kaitie blessed my fingers and did a excellent job. Well this was a place we have gone for years and now the relationship has ended and formal complaints will be filed. When you show a technician a picture of what you want and the incompetent manager refused to have your nails redone or refund your money because she stupid enough to say that the style didn't come out the same because of the color you chose, it's time to take action! So I came here today because my normal nail tech couldn't got me in and I needed a mani and pedi before I head out of town. I had seen the salon before as I frequent the Chipotle next door. I'm very glad I came here. Lyly did both my fill in, manicure and pedicure. The staff was friendly. As soon as I came in I was greeted and I wait maybe 3 minutes for her to put the hot water in the tub and get the supplies for my pedicure. I will definitely be back since they are following all COVID precautions and clean thoroughly between customers. I really wanted to like this place. I have been searching for a professional and reputable nail salon since I moved in the area. The first time I visited this nail salon everyone was very professional, nice and I loved my nails. I just knew my search was over. Then, I got my nails done yesterday and my views of this salon has changed drastically. I don't believe nail technicians should be able to service customers if they do not know what the are doing (see the attached pictures). I told the owner of my displeasure with the look of my nails and she had the tech redo my nails. The tech tried to fix them but my nails came out looking just as awful. Manager and staff was able to start on my nails and daughters ASAP. The customers that had set appointments were also attended too with a short wait. Well, my old nail salon got too busy to accommodate me anymore so I had to look for a nail salon. I am really particular about my feet so me finding this place was a blessing. The customer service was excellent. They have a lot of colors and options to choose from which is more than I can say for my previous nail place. Now, I'm not going to lie, it can get pricey but for me it was worth it. The tech...I can remember her name was great. She took her time. It was great. A different tech polished my toes. The only thing about that is that I had to tip separate people. Other than that it was a great experience. This is a pic of my toes after a week of being done. I don't think they look too bad. So let's break down my 5 star rating.... Customer service: the customer service was on point! From the moment I opened the door up until the moment I left! I was sold based on that! Drinks and snacks: you are offered a beverage, fruit, crackers or muffins during your treatment. I didn't partake this time as I had ate before I left the house. That's a plus because it helps you to relax..no alcohol beverages. The atmosphere: the atmosphere was very relaxing and calming...I literally dozed off during my treatment! That's a plus for me! Great service! Very hygienic as they used plastic wraps and gloves for their pedicures. A basic pedi is $25 but they have a 25% off grand opening deal until August so we paid $40 for two people. This is my absolute favorite place to go in the area to get my nails done. Best atmosphere - relaxing jazz music, no chemical smell, conversations held in hushed tones - and best services (my suggestions are at the very bottom). Prices are comparable to other higher end salons in the area, but you feel like you are the only one there and that they will do whatever they need to do to make sure you get your services done in a satisfactory manner. I have been going to them ever since they opened their doors and there was one time (pre-COVID) where they were running really behind...they normally close at 8 but Katie and Pepper stayed until my pedicure and nails were done at 9:30 PM on a Saturday night no less. BLESS THEM. I work in VA but I will never go there for services because I want to support Katie (the owner) and her family and the other staff. Literally the minute Hogan announced salons could open again I called Sparenity and booked an appointment for the day they reopened. You will not be disappointed with your services and will feel totally safe due to what measures they've put in place to protect themselves and other clients: - The tables where you sit to get your nails done have changed in configuration to allow for proper social distancing. - There is a thick piece of plastic wall between you and the tech and you place your hands under it to have the services performed. -For pedicures the procedure is the same however they leave the middle pedicure chair open so you're not right up on someone. The same thick clear plastic divider material is cut so you stick your feet under it and is tall enough that it matches up with the height of the chair. - You must wear a mask at all times. NO EXCEPTIONS. - Services are by appointment only; no exceptions and no walk ins. - If you arrive early you must wait in your car and they will call you when it's your turn, - they have hand sanitizer everywhere - before you get your services done you and the tech wash your hands and then use the hand sanitizer provided before sitting down at their station. - They limit how many color sample cards are being circulated and they sanitize them after you have used them. - There are no more treats like the cookies or fresh fruit and there are also no more drinks. :( That's the worst part for me because man they had the best thai milk tea there - I LOVED IT (almost more than the nail services and that's saying something). - They are cashless except for tips now and they prefer you pay by CashApp or Venmo. You can still earn your points during this current period but they aren't allowing you to cash in any of your points at this time which is understandable since they lost so much revenue by being closed for three months almost. However, Katie told me that in the future when they open it back up again, you can use as many points as you want (previously it was only 10 points at a time, which gave you $10 off). I've had all sorts of services there from my standard SNS dip powder (Mike is exceptional with his attention to detail and artistry for designs) to gel pedicures (Pepper is the best for pedicures!) to bikini waxing (with Katie) and also massages (I forgot who I had but she gave me the most amazing head and neck massage that cured a two week migraine cycle in its tracks). You can absolutely not go wrong coming here. Take the time to come in and TREAT YO' SELF so you can forget for a small bit that 2020 has been such a dud. read more

The nails techs here typically do a good job, the place is clean and spacious. However, the girl working at the front desk is clueless. Her inability to properly schedule and speak to clients is causing the salon to lose money. I know because I've walked away, and have witnessed others do the same. It's frustrating because she doesn't even work with customers to try to get them fit into the schedule. Don't go. I just went to Sparenity nail lounge today for a basic white pedicure with my mom. After waiting with my feet in the water for 20 minutes while my mom was halfway through her pedicure, Long (the only male I saw working in there) came over and gave me an extremely mediocre service that left me with an obvious hang nail. When I asked why he didn't cut it or file it to fix it, he said it wasn't part of the service and said it would've cost more money. Not once did he offer to do it or check to see if I could afford it. Before leaving dissatisfied with my service, he made it clear that he didn't want to "assume I could afford it." I go this nail salon because It's close to my house. But I you every time I get Katie, I'm never ever satisfied. I got pedicures with gel my toes where not painted fully. She was going to give me a manicure. Why did she try to push back my cuticles on my dry hands and she hurt me with the instrument they always risk the push back cuticles after soaking. Oh My! This is my new salon! First, the atmosphere and environment is truly serene. The aesthetics are calming and full of zen. You can't help but to relax. The music is a nice cross of classical and jazz. Loud enough to be heard and soothing. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the receptionist. I asked if they accept walk-ins and she said "Of course. Please sign in." Well, I am expecting your standard clip board or notebook. Not here! They have an iPad which captures your information and allows you to sign up for their rewards program. I am seated in a massage chair that is extremely comfortable with a workable message function, nice sized arm rests and an actual table where I can rest my purse. The real treat is the USB port located within the chair. Major plus. After I am made comfortable, I am handed a menu for drink options. A nice selection - Thai iced tea, ginger ale, lemonade, etc. One customary glass per client. Served in beautiful glassware appropriately chilled. The drink is served with a pre-wrapped ceramic bowl of fresh fruit - sliced apples and grapes with a petite disposable fork. Now to the service - wonderful. No need to stand at a wall and pick your colors. You are given a crafty-made nail polish color palette that is numbered. I receive another menu with their suite of services. Each option labeled with precise descriptions and costs. My service was the deluxe pedicure! Heavenly! The water was warm, the products and tools used were quality and sterile. My nail technician was professional and took her time. My feet felt and looked fabulous. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture. I will go back for the nail service and update the review. Mike is AMAZING! Every single time I leave his chair I feel like a damn goddess! He's funny, pleasant, and just super talented! It took me a while to find a place once I moved but the wait was worth it. I had an appointment for 2:15 that was confirmed, once I showed up for my appointment they stated that I was late and took someone else.
