She was even a little rude. The hotel has such a strong scent of mold throughout. My husband is handicapped, so we asked for a ground floor room. I walked into the room and immediately could hardly breathe. It was a hard NO. The clerk was quite irritated and said that's why she asked if I had any pets. If I did have a dog, I would not allow them to sleep in the room or want them to even touch the floor. Imagine if it smells that bad for me, their lungs are closer to it. I've stayed at plenty of hotels that do not stink this badly and accept pets! Why are people with pets given such a below standards room at all? I'm sure this hotel would fail an inspection very easily! She moved our room to the 2nd floor room, which was directly about the same room as was on the 1st floor. Just as bad, in the smell. Every time we have ever stayed at a Hilton, we always are allowed 2 free bottles of water. She would not allow us even 1. I guess other hotels are just nicer to us. No decaf tea was available either. We did not sleep well at all!!! The beds are much firmer, pillows were uncomfortable. I could not recommend this hotel to anyone as we don't believe it's a healthy environment for you, your pets or children to sleep in overnight, at all. The PLUS part of this stay, was only the breakfast! There was a nice breakfast in a quaint little dining area. Some of the tables were run down but the lady serving breakfast was sweet, the coffee was delightful and we could watch the news while we had our breakfast. The price was not worth the stay overall and it was a disappointment to know this was a Hilton standard location. We will not stay at this location again.

You are a short drive from the beach (private pay to enter) and the public entertainment pier. You are right next to Clear Lake which offers great views of the marina and has a nice walking trail. There are a couple restaurants right next door and you are a short drive from a shopping center and other places to eat. We had a car so we drove to many local cafes and restaurants in neighboring cities but you could get to some decent places by just walking. Rooms & Building - Rooms are standard Hampton Inn rooms with a touch of modern décor. They were clean and comfortable for our family of five. The hotel itself has the standard Hampton Inn modern design with bright bold colors, abstract art, and dark wooden furniture with tiled floors. Amenities - There is a good sized outdoor pool on the side of the building which is a must when you are staying in Houston because it gets HOT! The pool was a welcomed reprieve from the hot morning and mid-day sun. It was for the most part kept clean and the pool area had a good amount of seating. There is also a huge seating area in the breakfast lounge that makes eating lunch or hanging out when you want some time away from your room a good choice. There is also an office area and laundry facilities for a fee. Food - There is a free breakfast buffet offered at this location. The breakfast layout is your standard waffle bar layout. Hot options include eggs, potatoes, breakfast meat and waffles. Continental options are available too such as yogurt, cereal, breakfast breads, fruit, etc. The breakfast options also rotate each day. We stayed for a week, could of used a little more variety but we also didn't have to resort to eating the same thing each day, enough choice to go around. Vibe - Easy going and friendly staff. The front desk lady said hi to my kids every day and learned their names by the end of the week. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - I paid about $120 a night and stayed at this location for a week - it made this trip very affordable for us. All are very personable, friendly, pleasant and helpful in anyway they can. The app also lets you control the TV and stream Netflix, which was actually pretty clutch. They've got a 24hr coffee station which I used a lot. Breakfast was decent. Only thing I kinda wished for was scrambled eggs at least once during the week. Looks like their main thing is the breakfast sandwiches. They had sunny side up eggs every day and switched between sausage patties and bacon. Staff was alright, not rude or anything, just not super engaged. Parking is open which is a plus. The girl who checked us in was so sweet and made sure we had everything. Kudos to her because she worked the 3-11 then the 6-3 the next day.

They have a ok breakfast from 6:00am 9:00 am Mon through Friday and 7:00am to 9:00 am Saturday and Sunday. Don't even go in the hot tub, looks like a koi pond, and I think the girl across the hall is a prostitute, dudes keep going and coming and she looks like she has been putting in work. It was low and appeared to sink into the ground. There is a "dated" feel to the room but I actually enjoy it. Some newer hotels I've lodged had too much of a retro contemporary feel and was quite uncomfortable to me. The only criticism I have is the size of the bathroom. Kinda reminds me of the bathrooms on a ship's balcony room. To access both 9th and 10th floors, you have to use your club access room key in the elevator. The mobile key won't work. Also, the Club Lounge is on the 9th floor and is open 24/7. It is under renovation and the usual complimentary hor'dourves are not being offered here....only drinks. The lobby's decor for Christmas was stunning, warm and welcoming. It really felt like a wintery Christmas in hot Texas. I also noticed a number of people gathering around the decorative display as to enjoy its beauty. Parking is complimentary as were my 3 bar vouchers. (Luckily just the first night - but the mites/fleas got me both nights.) The lobby, elevators and hallways smell AWFULLY - I mean it just absolutely REEKS - of artificial, stifling air freshener, AND WITH A BIG CHEAP SCENTED CANDLE BURNING ON TOP OF THAT - and the rooms smell of that gross Southern gas station mop cleaner. When I asked for a different room because the first smelled like sewage, the front desk lady stared at me like she had no idea what to do. When I reexplained the situation, she claimed there were no rooms available because they were fully booked. When I explained that I KNOW that unless I was the very LAST person to check in, there were rooms available that she could move around, she grudgingly changed the room. When that one reeked too, she again lied and said there were no rooms; when it was clear I wasn't going back to the smelly room, she magically found another. As another reviewer stated, the bathroom door design is bad, such that the door doesn't fully open and you have to crawl over the toilet to get to the sink. The toilet didn't flush well. The towels had all this gross long black fake hair on them and they, and the sheets, smelled of cologne/perfume. Though they advertise the rooms as having kitchens, there's no stove or oven; it's just a larger fridge, a small kitchen sink, some dishes and towels (all dirty and gross - bring your own); paper towels and counter space. And a microwave. The poolside rooms are loud with kids yelling till 11 pm. The good thing was the fridge actually got cold; and the A/C was only mildewy for the first 5 minutes and after that smelled fine. The mites in the bed and ungodly stink of the lobby were deal killers. Strongly recommend staying somewhere else if you're at all sensitive to either one.

Yesterday was my first time visiting an Embassy Suites property though I'm quite familiar with the upscale lodging brand. Given its amazing exterior, I knew the inside was going to be as close to stunning. Sure enough, my expectations about Embassy Suites were met. Finding a spot in its adjacent parking garage, which it shares with a few office buildings, wasn't difficult. When we entered the hotel, a gentlemanly employee held the door for our group. Everything appears to be modern, spacious and well kept. Those three adjectives even apply to the restroom. The hotel did exceptional when it comes to the food the guests and I consumed. We tided ourselves over during the supposed cocktail hour with a decent setup that included pita chips, bread, hummus and fruit. Dinner was worth the wait as we were treated to a delicious buffet consisting of spinach salad, stir fried peas and carrots, rice, teriyaki glazed mahi mahi, grilled pineapple chicken and sweet and sour pork cutlet. There was vanilla ice cream and cheesecake for dessert in addition to a coffee and tea station. Before I left, I went downstairs to check out the onsite bar, which had the A&M-LSU game on. I didn't order anything, but I noticed it was quite the place for people to gather at. The rating is four stars because I can't really opine on the experience of staying here, but I assume that those from out of town with business to conduct in the Energy Corridor or surrounding areas have this Embassy Suites on their list of places to hit the hay at.
