Sparkfit's 'Aging Gracefully' class - Tuesdays and Thursdays - 9:30 AM I have always been committed to health and fitness. As a 'Baby Boomer' moving rapidly upward in my senior years I am more committed than ever to maintaining the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual vitality that ensure full enjoyment of those years. I first met Kecia several years ago when I began practicing yoga and she was one of the instructors at the studio I attended. Her special spirit of serenity and obvious dedication to the principals of a sound mind and body shone through her, and I was always delighted when she was teaching the classes I attended. I was equally delighted to discover she and her husband Glenn had opened a holistic fitness facility within blocks of my home, and have been attending Kecia's Aging Gracefully sessions for over a year. Kecia leads us through routines that emphasize balance, muscle tone, flexibility and connection between brain, body, and spirit - all the things that prevent aging from stealing life's quality - and she does it with grace and joy. Sparkfit really is as good as it gets in the fitness world. From a purely physical perspective: Sparkfit has challenged my body and endurance in ways I never thought possible. My strength, stamina, and overall body health have drastically improved since I started. I feel powerful, and I'm noticing the physical difference in my body (my clothes are falling off!) I've trained with Glenn for several years now and I can honestly say there isn't anyone I trust as much. His regimen has pushed me beyond what I thought possible but it has always been done in a very safe and intelligent way. Definitely need to check this place out! Was looking for a good workout while in town and I got more than what I asked for! Very fun and got my workout in. I'm usually a "if it wasn't over an hour, it wasn't a workout" type person but I can say I got my buns handed to me in 30mins with Brad's kettlebell class than most of the workouts I've done. Sparkfit is one of my favorite places! I've learned so much about the importance of movement and correct form, as well as how to get the most out of my body while having fun. The workouts change and challenge you, a lot of things I had never even thought about doing before. The community is always welcoming and a great place to spend at least an hour of your day. Really like this gym bc the instructors really work with you on proper form plus they are fun. Music is great, classes are challenging and I'm never bored with the workout bc they change up the program every 5-6 weeks which allows for goal setting. Overall high 5!!!! read more
