Amazing wine tastings! Such a fun, cool and open space, we sat inside and our server Ella Weaver took amazing care of us she was super knowledgeable! The place was perfect for a friend get-together, large groups, and small groups! My friend and I both got a white wine tasting flight and even sampled one of the reds as well as a welcome drink! We loved the "As you wish" (princess bride reference) and the sparkling chardonnay. I'd love to go back here soon and try more of their wines; they were so delicious and reasonably priced! read more

Our experience here was disappointing from start to finish, and truly the worst wine tasting I've ever had, which makes it all the more frustrating given the recommendation from a friend. The awkwardness began immediately upon arrival. Our host greeted us with a welcome pour, only to take the glass right out of my hand to ask for our IDs. From there, we were escorted past the lively front of the tasting room all the way to a secluded back room. We assumed it would fill up. It never did, and I truly believe being isolated back there is what set the tone for the lackluster service that followed. Our first server came to introduce herself, and then minutes later, a younger woman came out to announce she was our "real" server. The whole interaction left us feeling profiled for our age, which was frustrating. We are frequent wine tasters and members of multiple wine clubs. We were not the inexperienced guests we were apparently assumed to be. The flight format was not to my preference either. All wines were brought out at once, and our server gave only surface-level explanations of the first three before saying she would return for the last two. Because we were tucked away in the back, she had no way of gauging when we finished, and by the time she came back, we were already ready to leave without ever receiving the last two explanations. The wine itself was not good to me. We ended up dumping most of it. At $60, this was a complete waste, and we will not be returning. We attended the Candlelight Concert by Fever- A tribute to Whitney Houston located at Sparkman Cellars. The venue was very accommodating for a nearly full (2 available seats) attended concert session. The venue was very spacious, clean, and climate friendly. The timbre, and sonority tones produced by the violinists, and cellist resonated perfectly through out the venue. THE BIG: Located in Woodinville and attached ot the Restaurant at DeLille Cellars. Pretty spacious winery with indoor and outdoor seating. Parking lot available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I along with a couple of friends came here on a Sunday afternoon. We went to 3 wineries beforehand so we were winding down with Sparkman. There were about 5 wines in the flights and we decided to order a white flight and the red flight to try the different wines. There was a mix of bordeaux style wines and some monovarietals. All very good. Service was great with the waitress checking in every so often to see how we were doing. I came here for the drake candlelight concert night. The workers were are all soooo kind. My partner accidentally bought the wrong time for the show and we didn't notice until we got there. But they were accommodating to us and said no worries and that they could pull chairs if anything -- we arrived about 15mins after doors opened for the event. This show was so amazing. I enjoyed it so much and it's the perfect date night. I enjoyed the charcuterie board and white wine that my partner got for me. I'd highly recommend into looking for their shows! Dear Bryan, I'm writing to address your recent response, and set the record straight, which unfortunately you are not being truthful. It appears your staff misrepresented the situation to you. Given the facts, you are in no position to dispute what occurred or defend the behavior of your employee. Here is the exact exchange, verbatim: Me (entering with ADA card in hand): "Hi, I wanted to check and see if I could sit down and have a glass of Ruckus?" First woman (pleasantly): "Yes, of course. We do have a no-dogs-in-our-space policy." Me: "Ok, no problem. She is a service animal and we've been here before." Second woman (the one who misled you): "OK, that's not a service animal. Get that outside." Me: "We are going outside, but your sign says to request seating, which is why I came in. And yes, my dog is a service animal." Second woman (curt and dismissive): "Yeah, I heard you," as she turned and walked away without making eye contact. At that point, I had had enough. I've visited Sparkman Cellars at least six times as a wine club member--always without issue and always with my well-behaved, well-socialized service dog. Your records and transactions should easily reflect that history. So please, don't gaslight this situation. Whether you personally like dogs or not is irrelevant. The issue is that you've hired someone who was dishonest with you and handled the situation with unnecessary hostility and disregard. read more

We came here for a candle light music event by Fever. The tasting room has an old world barn feel with modern touches. The tasting room staff were friendly and helpful when we asked multiple questions before settling on a bottle to drink without tasting. We reserved a 4 top table and had a perfect view of the stage in an intimate setting. I highly recommend this location for an event! There are restaurants near by to eat dinner ahead of time. We went to Vons 1000 in Woodinville and cruised right over in just 2 minutes from parking lot to parking lot. We didn't sample food from their tasting room because there wasn't anything available, not sure if they have anything during the day. read more

Gave the Candlelight Concert at Sparkman Cellars featuring music of Hans Zimmerman. We chose this venue(as there are spots in Seattle as well) because it was the closest venue. You walk in and it's a very clean and nice establishment. We ordered a bottle of wine for the even as well as a small charcuterie package. They asked if we wanted two waters and we of course said yes(bring your own water, we were unaware they were $4 each of 16.9oz), we would have skipped the water. Most of the servers were happy and helpful, but it seemed that we got the one that was annoyed to be there. The charcuterie board was not our forte, the fig was delicious, but the provolone block and smudge of goat cheese weren't the best. The Brie was good as well as the almonds and crackers. Overall a good mix, just not my favorite. The wine we bought was great. To the show, it was fantastic. Four very talented musicians, comical at times. They played for about an hour, but we could have stayed for way more. We bought seating B, which was mid level in price. There's not a bad seat in the house. We have already booked the next show and invited friends. Seating C seems to be the best seating for the price. Everything is first come first serve, but C comes with a table. I have already recommended this to many friends. If you're looking for a great date night this is it! read more

Went to a wine dinner that featured Sparkman, loved the wines, and decided to visit and taste more of their lineup. Craig Walker, who presented the wines at the dinner, helped arrange a tasting and tour at their Woodinville location. They had just completed harvest and we got a chance to talk to the winemaker and see the production area. The tasting area is really beautiful, and the wines speak for themselves - hard to choose a favorite! I highly recommend visiting Sparkman. We visited this tasting room and loved the layout with the big open room, modern design, and comfortable seating. A group of us went wine tasting and we had reservations and were seated at a huge beautiful table with tastings laid out before us. Those pouring for us were helpful and knowledgeable about their wines and did a great job explaining the subtly of the notes that I could never hope to distinguish myself. The rose was a big hit with my friends and they took home a bottle each. I was partial to the reds but really everything was quite tasty. Came here for a yelp halloween party and it was really fun. I am not much of a wine drinker but it was cool to learn about each wine and their wine making process. Their wine library sparked more wine interest in me. The employees here are really friendly and certainly made sure we all had a great time. I love that they host fun parties and events like this year round! They are available to the public too. You just gotta check out their website and social media for info. Our first visit to Sparkman in their new digs! The space is beautiful and the wines fantastic... we made a reservation for 4 on line and had a lovely space to ourselves on the couches. Our server was pleasant and helpful My one "ouch" right out of the gate were the prices -- $35 for a standard tasting of 5 wines is really expensive and not in line with other Woodinville wineries... refundable with 2 bottles, which means I have to buy 4 bottles to get that hefty tasting refunded. Our lovely server did wave both with 3 bottles purchased. To go with our wine, we ordered a charcuterie plate -- $20 and I was highly underwhelmed... we won't order that again :(. If I could give Sparkman Cellars million stars I would. One of my favorite aspects of the winery is the ambiance. The building is beautiful and well laid out, the wine and food is amazing and the service is phenomenal. The owners, Kelly and Chris, are so hands on and personable. They greet you like they've known you for years and can often be seen jumping in to help as needed - bussing tables, pouring wines and greeting guests. I love seeing them interact with their team as you can tell they genuinely care about their employees. Every employee I've encountered has been knowledgeable and personable. Our server today (I believe her name was Sarah) was the sweetest and had excellent food and wine recommendations. Everything she suggested on the menu we loved, and would absolutely order again (looking at you, chips + dip and brisket/mushroom flatbread(s)!) 20/10 would recommend Sparkman to anyone and everyone. We went out for a double date to Sparkmans just over a week ago, and the vibes were quite immaculate. The set up was chic, socially-distanced, and well-lit. We enjoyed sitting and chatting among the ambience of the room. Unfortunately, the charcuterie board that was ordered was a whole disappointment and a half: it was a hefty $20, but served on a plastic plate, with each piece of cheese barely the size of your thumb. It was also served with plastic cutlery, which made a confusing contrast to the elegant effort put into the venue set-up. The wine itself was average, and while it was a nice deal to have the tasting fee waived in exchange for two bottle purchases, I would still lean towards trying another place in Woodinville for my next date idea, rather than returning. read more

One of the best wineries in Washington, I would say! A group of us went here over the weekend and the wine, the food, the service, and the place overall was just outstanding. First off, I tried to make two reservations for the same time because our group was larger, and I ended up getting two times that were farther apart then I wanted, but in the end they were able to make a small switch so we were able to go! They answered my call and email right away which is amazing and not always the service you get from some places where I wait days to hear back, and usually with an answer that isn't what you want to hear. Second, walking into the building it's open and not too crowded so our group was able to communicate with each other, but not have to talk over other people or talk quieter to be respectful. The sit down booth tables are also so adorable and great for groups. One of my favorite parts is that it's a family owned business, but the owners were actually there on site! I got to meet both Kelly and Chris, who are both so wonderful- now drinking the wine I brought home it brings me back to the winery itself and how amazing meeting them was. We were able to try the 2016 hallelujah port- if I can give any advice it would be to bring this one home with you! After trying this wine, all of my friends expressions were the same -WOW! Our wine educator was lovely and gave me a complimentary taste of rose. The only downside is we didn't get any explanation of the wines so we had to listen to another wine educator explain to another table. The service here is stellar. I highly recommend making a reservation well in advance as they are super busy. Their checkin process was super easy and they were well prepared for us. We arrived at a reserved table printed with our name and the time allotted for our group. You can do two tastings: a mixed or all red. The last three wines were the same for both tastings. We went to Sparkman yesterday on a beautiful perfect sunshiney day. Our party if 8 was split because of a rule about 6-top miaximums which certainly should have been discussed when the reservation was made... and we were seated in separate rooms. We were asked not to move back ans forth amo get the groups (essentially "stay at your table"). Tw members of our party inquired about moving at least closer so that we could at least converse, and because the tables with reservation cards had no one sitting at them and the server was sent to the table to tell us the manager said no. Side note one of our part ended up with a spider dropping down on her so that was an exciting exercise that allowes us out of our seats. Important to jote we were there to have a group discussion, also important to note one of our group are wine club members there. Overall it felt like we were third graders, the experience tainted any good vibe I could really get from the wine itself so I didn't enjoy and certainly wasn't going to dish out to buy food. The server came by to tell us we had 15 minutes left inour reservation and could she get us anything else... I asked for a glass of rose and she said "how fast can you drink"! What!? Are you kidding me? Ya. I will never go back. My advice is cater to your customers not to your elementary rules. And my advice to patrons is... there are so may really good wineries in Woodinville, wa..WA... skip Sparkman if you want to feel kike you are treated with respect. It's too bad. The location at the old Red Hook Brewery is actually really nice. Not welcoming for spontaneous drop in and I didn't even try because I was also in my bike clothes. The Delille area looked pretty upscale too. I ride my bike and I feel welcome at Chateau Ste Michelle and have for many years, but none of these other areas on the other side. Sad. read more

Brief: Great wine and cheese plate. Service is incredibly weak and lacks competency. Detail: We were fortunate enough to be given a table for a wine tasting because there was a no-show, but that's where the good service ended. Once seated, the pleasantry of the evening solely relied on each others' company and alcohol consumption. That said, our table of 2 out of 3 seats, have personally worked as servers in high-end restaurants as well as easy going pubs. Each stage of our service at Sparkman from our server had an unacceptable delay. Her section only had 3 tables seated, including us. We gave an order of 3 rainbow wine tastings and a single cheese charcuterie platter. Our wine took 15 minutes to come out. Our server said she would be back to walk through the wines in front of us. Twenty minutes passed with the wine sitting in front of us. We waited for her to explain our sampler while we watched her actually prioritize a table that got seated and order after us. We also watched her explain their wine. I finally called her over and asked if we were supposed to wait for her walk-through, then she animatedly leapt into the explanation with no acknowledgement of the wait. When finished, looked at the center of the table that had empty stacked plates and said "the food will right out!" Our cheese platter came out another 25 min later, which was 45 minutes after our original. I suspect that the order wasn't even entered into the system initially. There is no reason an order like that should take 45 minutes. We finally wished to cash out and called her over. She pulled up the receipt on her tablet and never actually even showed us the itemized charges. She turned the tablet around for me to enter in our tip percentage, and while I went ahead and entered in a number, a fraction of a second after I entered in my tip, it occurred to me the math didn't make sense. I then asked her what the total was of our receipt because the math didn't pan out. She checked again and immediately said it was the wrong check and proceeded to charge me the correct amount. Again, she didn't show us our itemized total and simply wanted me to enter in the tip. We asked for the refund receipt as well as our actual receipt. She assured us that we would get it. We each went to the restroom one at a time, sat and chatted, and another 20 minutes went by. We saw our server walk back and forth avoiding eye contact with us. We feel as though was hoping we would lose patience and just leave. We asked again, and only then did she approach the people at the hostess desk. She returned finally and told us neither receipt can be provided--neither in print nor in email. Puzzling. The woman at the hostess stand came over. I guess she may have been management. She wanted it to be clear that the refund was made, to go ahead and check our bank account the following day and call if there were any issues. I just feel like this could have been avoided if the server hadn't tried to hide the itemized receipt from the table BOTH times and only flipped the tablet over for us to enter in the tip. That alone, is truly questionable ethics. I have checked my bank account, and I can only roughly estimate that it is the correct amount charged, since I never found out my original total. At least there aren't two charges from Sparkman, but this is unimpressive service for such a beautiful, high-end venue. Service does not match their price point. People pay this much for an amazing experience. Otherwise, we would just get 2 bottles from total wine or the grocery store. Would I go back? The entire region is filled with wine tasting venues. I am more inclined to try other places at this stage. It's a shame, because we are the type of people to show intense loyalty to venues with great service. We are also notoriously good tippers. I still gave her a 25% tip despite the terrible service, but when things are excellent, I have given up to 50%. I was being generous. I shouldn't have even given that. I will not be recommending Sparkman to others. read more

We enjoy wine tasting and like to purchase wine for our cellar as a fun experience. Love Visiting woodinville to explore as there are so many wonderful wine options. Decided to try out the old red hook location this trip. Our first stop was Sparkman. Have been to their previous warehouse location years ago and enjoyed their wine. This location and experience was a huge disappointment. Upon entry the space is very nice and HUGE! Greeted with a "Do you have a reservation?" We did not... it was just two of us freely enjoying a wine day. I get the reservation trend and agree larger parties it's a must but I don't get not welcoming guests with a smile regardless. When a small group doesn't why not welcome them and let them know you will see what you can do for them kindly? We got the gruff.... No reservations stare and stood as two gals spent the next several minutes trying to work an obviously over complicated computer chart. When they finally looked back up to address us again I needed to give them a ton of personal information. Again waited several minutes while the two figured out how to input my personal portfolio. We were told that they allow only 1 hour and 15 minutes at the table. A bit off putting to be told as your being seated but ok... Then we were escorted to a room for the much anticipated wine experience. This room also had many tables and only 2 were occupied. So the winery was not that busy. We waited patiently for someone to return to give us the scoop on the wine. After about 10 minutes we joked that we now only had 1 hour and 5 minutes. As we waited another tables server checked on them as they looked to have tastings and several food items. Shockingly we heard their server tell them they had 15 min left and if they wanted anything else. Very odd way to treat a winery guests that had obviously bought in to the tasting experience full tilt. Wine multiple food plates. Our mood started to sour. When our server finally came (now we had 55 min left) we ended up just getting a bottle to enjoy as she couldn't really sell the tasting as she didn't know the % of blends or vineyards sourced. The bottle was good but due to the unfriendly and lacking customer service we didn't feel inclined to purchase any to take home. I get you need to have a policy for table time. But to train staff to lead with that is bad idea. If a party loitering and not buying wine by all means that is the time for staff to move them along. While we were there we did not see many bottles being sold to go home. And that is all because you've missed the mark on the experience. We walked over to Mark Ryan... place was busy we were treated like welcomed guests. A lot of wine being sold there. If you know good wine then this is not the place to go. We paid $55 for two tastings. The wine at best is maybe as good as a Barefoot wine. Their wine doesn't have much flavor and is weak. What an absolutely amazing experience. I wandered in on a Saturday afternoon with my fingers crossed and no reservation. Mandy (sp?) at the front was so hospitable with a gracefullness you would find from a Maitre D in a Michelin Restaurant. She snuck me in swiftly to a comfortable sofa chair and table in the corner. I was greeted by Randi (sp?) who was nothing short of amazing while checking in on me and bringing water and helping me pick a flight. Melissa brought my flight and walked me through each or the wines presented with expertise, offering tasting notes and unique facts for each. This place is huge and misses the ambiance mark for me. The rooms are very compartmented with no music and you are left alone for quite a long time before someone shows up to take your order. The way they market themselves the experience is quite the opposite. the candles are lame battery operated with dried-up flowers on the table. I was given a questionable glare when I asked them to move the dried dead flowers. They def can work on their ambiance and give a better customer experience. read more

Came for a tasting with family. One person was the designated driver so we didn't include them on the original reservation. The girl checking us in was set to not accommodate when we told her we had one extra person. She stated even though one person wasn't drinking she couldn't do anything about that and could only take 6 people back. My family told me they sat on sofas and there was more than enough room for me back there. I would say I won't be back but I didn't even make it in before being turned away.
