I bought a glass of the MallowDramatic, which is a sweet moscato (no bubbles) that tastes like marshmallows. As hot as it is (and yes, even inside it was hot) a sweet wine was so apropos. I really liked the "Accents" which is a Cynthiana grapes, which are usually used for a rich full-bodied wine (and is predominantly from the Ozark region) such as a Cabernet, but in this case I wouldn't say it was a Cabernet, but it is a full-bodied and expressively earthy wine with notes of tobacco and tart cherries. The description says oak, but that's not what I was tasting. I am drinking a glass now at home on my couch (yes I bought a bottle) and I once again tasted it to describe. It definitely paired well with a sweet chocolate treat. All their wines are $24.00.

There are wines for every preference...rich reds, crisp whites, and some sweet selections too. Never had chocolate wine before, and I didn't know how much I needed it in my life lol. The wine flights, wine slushies, and mimosas are all worth trying, and the appetizers were fantastic alongside the wines. I also found the prices to be very reasonable. The atmosphere was delightful, and you can tell it is a family-run winery with a real passion for quality. The vineyard is well maintained, and the setting is both welcoming and picturesque. It is no surprise that Clauren Ridge is also a popular spot for weddings and other events. Our group spent time out on the veranda and patio, which made the celebration feel even more special. To top it off, my cousin was proposed to at the end of the party and got engaged. The whole experience was beautiful, and I am grateful to Clauren Ridge for providing such a memorable backdrop. Overall we agreed the best of the group was the "Saddle Thief Reserve" blend. They have cute little cabins on the winery grounds that you can stay at and we rented two of them for one night. My inlaws stayed in one and my husband and I stayed in the other - dog friendly! The owner is super friendly and is very welcoming. They had a bottle of wine for us in the cabin as well as fresh baked chocolate chip cookies that were just wonderful! Shortly after we got there we walked over to the winery for a tasting. My favorites were the cranberry, white muscadine, peach chardonnay, and summer fun (watermelon). Also enjoyed the strawberry Riesling and tropical paradise. The wild fire - blackberry jalapeno was interesting! Just remember, this is not anywhere near anything, so we had dinner and breakfast with us - able to heat up and prepare in the cabins. With it not being near anything, it was a nice quiet evening and enjoyable for all four of us. Would highly recommend if you are driving through to stay the night or just to taste the wines!

They don't rush you to finish tasting, Bella (the dog) wanders up to help you finish your crackers,,, if you let her,,,, they talk and tell you all about the wines, how they were chosen, how they should taste, and what to pair them with. They remember us even though we are only there once a year, and when Rick sent the case we purchased home to us, he also sent a sweet note thanking us for our patronage.
