After a longgg day of driving, Sparky's Garage was a great way to end the day. The service was exceptional, the food came quickly, and everything was delicious. I'd recommend anything that allows you to try their homemade BBQ sauces (especially the honey BBQ). The cornbread and BBQ beans paired very well with the pulled pork. The lugnutz were an odd take on crab rangoons but I'm glad we tried them. If we're ever back in Dillon we'll definitely stop again! read more

Stopped off in Dillon at the end of our trip the night before we had to head back to Bozeman. Had about a 25 min wait around 6 pm on a Thursday night, so they were fairly busy. We started out with some fried cheese curds (with ranch and blue cheese for my dipping sauces!) and I had a vanilla lavender lemonade (alcoholic). Super tasty and pretty filling, so best to share to save some room for dinner. For my entree I had the strawberry avocado salad with smoked salmon and a poppy seed dressing and oh man, it was SO good. I even tried to replicate it at home, but I need to find a better dressing. They use nice big flaky pieces of smoked salmon. My boyfriend had the jambalaya - can't say how it was, since I don't really eat spicy things, but he liked it alright and ate some leftovers for breakfast. Would return for the food, and our server was nice. The hostesses were a bit brusque, but not that big a deal. Came extremely hungry and was really looking forward to some good BBQ. The first place we tried was permanently closed. Had high hopes from the reviews and the pictures looked amazing. The atmosphere and decor was spot on, you can even sit in an old time truck for dinner if you luck out. Service was quick and friendly. LOTS of beers on draft, the names of which definitely have you intrigued. The food was just ok. Nothing to write home about and a bit on the dry side. The best thing we ordered was the smokehouse Philly, we give that 8.5/10 Crispy chicken salad was lettuce, tomato, onion and dressing. 7/10. Brisket while tender, was dry and no flavor, luckily they had a few sauces to choose from to drown it in. 6/10. Mac and cheese noodles were gummy 5/10. Mashed potatoes solid 8/10. Corn bread gets a 7.5 with the honey butter being it's saving grace. Service gets 8/10 Overall we were a bit disappointed, but would give it another chance if no other good options available. read more

Drove by this cute restaurant on our way to the RV park. We setup our trailer and decided to head here for an early dinner. I had the southern fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. My husband had a burger with fries. The chicken dinner was DELICIOUS!! The coating on the chicken was so crunchy and the chicken was moist. This will be the third time I've been to Sparky's. First was in 2021...was very good. Was going to go in 2022, but they had a kitchen fire and wasn't open when I was in town. Went back in 2023 and wasn't quite as happy as the first time...just didn't order the right things I guess. Today I ordered the Philly steak brisket sandwich that came with cornbread and a side which I chose the beans. Philly was ok, could have used some different bread which would have made a difference. The cornbread was very good and the beans were also quite good. For a side I ordered the loaded fries which had a four cheese blend, bacon and pickled jalapeños. Now I love cheese and bacon, but wow they put over the top amount of both on the fries...was a bit much. Going to pay for eating the whole thing...was good, but overkill. Lastly I had a bowl of French onion soup which several people raved about in the reviews. I love French onion soup and always get it if it's on the menu. Don't know how I missed it the first two times I was there unless it was recently added...anyway, it was solid. Not the best I've had or even top 10%, but still really good. Overall a solid spot to stop at if I'm the area. Also has a nice tap list of about 25 beers. The food is a bit on the steep price side. Soup was $12.95 (came with cornbread) and noticed wings were $14.95 for 6 wings! Still worth a stop. read more

Great atmosphere and service but the food is pretty average. If this review was based solely on the food it would just be three stars. We orders the cheese curds, lug nutz, and the fish and chips. Cheese curds and lug nutz were good. Fish and fries were decent. They did have a huckleberry milk shake that I could pass up that was quite good as well. read more

Once a year, my wife and I drive up I-15 through Dillon Montana on the Beaverhead River in Southwest Montana. We always stop in Dillon to eat at Sparky's Garage. Sparky's has the feel of a 1950's gas station - auto garage, with all the metal signs, garage memorabilia, and local historical photographs. Very cool. For me it's a handmade milk shake, slow smoked baby back ribs, corn bread, barbecue baked beans, and mac & cheese. They have three varieties of BBQ Sauce and a great Carolina Mustard to accent the selection of smoked meats. Yes, I know... how do you eat all that? Well, I don't eat breakfast or lunch before arriving at Sparky's, and I take a to-go box. They have Burgers, sandwiches, fried chicken, sweet potato fries, Alaska salmon, chicken fried steak, and their smokehouse meats. The bar has a large selection of beer on tap, both local and from elsewhere. The service is great; people are friendly; the food is good; the atmosphere is fun; the price is reasonable. If you find yourself within a couple hundred miles of Dillon Montana, this is a 4+ star stop. read more

I ordered the jambalaya with cornbread and my girlfriend had the chicken strips and fries. The jambalaya was flavorful and had a large portion. The cornbread was a bit too dry but the honey butter was great. The chicken strips look hand breaded. They were crunchy and flavorful. The buffalo sauce on the side was her favorite. Found this fun place while staying overnight in Dillon Montana. Great atmosphere inside the restaurant. Great place to have some quality food and even to take your kids. We stopped here after visiting Virginia City, soooooo good! We had the pulled pork platter and the catfish. I subbed the fries for a salad with blue cheese dressing (so many chunks of blue cheese!). Everything was absolutely fantastic, huge portions, reasonably priced. If we lived here we'd be coming back regularly! read more

I don't know what the food on their regular menu is like, because the dish that had my name on it was a "seasonal special" of jambalaya. Often Louisiana food in remote and distant locales can be iffy, but this was an excellent jambalaya, one of the best I've had outside its homeland. It was the full palate of jambalaya ingredients, full of juicy chunks of chicken, sausage, and shrimp, and the entire Holy Trinity of cajun vegetables (onion, celery, bell peppers). The spicing was intense but delicate, enlivened with bay leaves and (I think) paprika. The sauce was a bit soupy, but they served it with a spoon. The leftovers (it was a huge serving) were not even better reheated the next day, but that's a small regret. Family-style place down by the college at the far south end of town, full of old gas station decor. Friendly and courteous but "Montana leisurely" service. read more
