The staff was very accommodating and professional. The fuel prices are competitive. Definitely worth the stop!

I've flown out of St. Louis Lambert International Airport many, many times over the years. I…read moretypically fly out of Terminal 2 since that's where Southwest is based, so that's the terminal I'm most familiar with. This airport can be VERY hit or miss when it comes to security. Sometimes you can get through in the blink of an eye, and other times you're waiting close to 45 minutes and starting to worry that you're going to miss your flight. I think a lot of it depends on what's happening in St. Louis--whether there's a big conference, spring break, a holiday, etc.--and I'm not sure the staffing always adjusts accordingly. Because of that, I always recommend checking the security wait times before you leave so you have an idea of how much extra time you need. Once you actually get through security, the airport is pretty easy to navigate. It's not a massive terminal, and you're generally at your gate fairly quickly. There can still be quite a bit of walking, though. One of my biggest annoyances is arriving late at night when there are barely any other planes coming or going, but your plane happens to be at something like Gate E40. Then you have to walk ALL the way down to E13 to exit when all the gates in between are completely empty. Why?! Finding the elevators, escalators, and baggage claim is pretty straightforward, and there are several food and drink options available. I personally don't usually eat or drink at the airport because I'm typically flying for vacation and like to eat at home before I leave. Drop-off is generally easy, but pickup is a little more of a hot mess. There seems to be one extreme or the other. They used to have security officers down there who would wave you along if you waited for even 10 seconds. Now, I've seen people park, load up their car, go inside to use the restroom, and come back out before leaving. There doesn't seem to be much middle ground. Because of that, if I don't have checked bags, I usually have my mom pick us up from the departures level instead of arrivals. It's just easier and less stressful. Overall, Lambert is a pretty easy airport to navigate. It gets you where you need to go without being overwhelmingly large, and I've only experienced a few major delays there. Usually, when something has gone wrong, it hasn't really been the airport's fault--it's been an issue with the airline, the aircraft, or something else outside of the airport's control. It may not be the fanciest airport around, but after flying out of here so many times, I know my way around and generally find it easy to get in, get through, and get on my way.

Easy to navigate. TSA lines occasionally gets long. Not huge, so very easy to get to any terminals…read more Overall: It gets the job done but not as vibrant when compared to other airports. Me personally, all I need is some Starbucks and a safe flight. They have been meeting those requests.

The place seems mellow, low-key. Few distractions for shopping and eating here. (There may have been none; we just hung out at our gate.) Our flight left a few minutes early; I guess everyone was ready to go. Minus one star because the TSA agent was quite short with me. There was no line and I was not doing anything inappropriate. My companion noticed her rudeness too.

You don't have to wait long for your bags however they have what I think are public security guards of some sort in the front of the building or absolutely exercising authority, acting like police, being rude, unkind with people who are outside pulling up to pick up passengers. I understand it needs to keep moving however, you don't have to be rude, nasty or unkind or think you're a policeman of some sort. Also, the airport could use some kind of bus to take passengers to the parking lot. This would benefit, especially those with small children or the elderly. Of course they could charge for the service since we all know that one thing Allegiant is known for is the nickel and diming for every little thing. I think people would pay for a bus to take them to their car though.

I missed my connecting flight and I had to buy a hotel room for the evening because there were no more flights available. After spending $500 booking a new flight and a hotel room, I called customer service to see if I could be reimbursed... long story short, no, I couldn't because I didn't book my connecting flight through them. Fast forward 2 weeks (Now), I have a flight home for Christmas through Contour airlines. I just received a text message stating that there's ANOTHER DELAY, which is causing the same issue all over again! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY and just take the train. This airline is unreliable and you will be inconvenienced just like me.

TSA is super fast and they were very pleasant to talk too. They will measure your baggage and ask your weight for safety reasons. It's a tiny plane. Pretend like your have a private plane lol cuz it's super slow. I like how Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois honor veterans with artifacts. You need to make sure you are here by boarding time. There is ample parking space and it is free. Baggage: the connecting flight was different and somewhat difficult. If you are doing a connecting flight and can not get 2 hours between them it may be less of a hassle to bring a book bag only. I was closed to not making it but I did thankfully! I would recommend but be mindful. We had to take a shuttle and that took more time as well.

Incredible compassion and top-notch customer service!…read more STL Shuttle Service deserves every bit of praise. My son is a freshman at SEMO, and we had booked a shuttle to take him from campus to the St. Louis airport after an incredibly difficult week--he had to travel home for his father's funeral. Plans unexpectedly shifted when his university stepped in to handle his travel arrangements, requiring us to cancel the shuttle. When I called, the team at STL Shuttle Service was incredibly understanding and compassionate given our sudden family loss, handling our cancellation with so much grace and empathy. Their kindness during one of the hardest moments of our lives meant the world to us. They absolutely have a customer for life, and my son will be using them for all of his airport trips over the next four years. If you want a reliable service that truly cares about its customers, this is it!

However, Bryan was very responsive and extremely helpful throughout the entire process including booking. We booked a round trip and were able to get picked up/ dropped off at a nearby location from the airport (not listed on their drop down menu) which was honestly very helpful and saved us the stress in finding another form of transportation. We also had a very last minute request for a later pickup and Bryan was able to accommodate our request, very thankful for that. The shuttle was clean and comfortable and our drivers both trips were very kind, punctual, professional, and knowledgeable with the areas we traveled to/from. Would absolutely recommend booking with STL! Thank you again Bryan and team!

They have 2 courtesy cars (when working) that are easy to use to get to the numerous restaurants in Perryville and in Chester across the river. Al's Diner is nearby and is a great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The FBO is nice with clean bathrooms, shower, recliners, water and coffee. Greg G has kept it well stocked with snacks and soda for a small price. Fuel is competitively priced. The only caution is the airport manager is not pleasant, and will not help you if you have a problem. She seems to only care about business from the Weststar company on the other side of the airport. She has refused to allow transients into empty hangers in bad weather, claimed to not have a key to the tenant hanger when one forgot his key, hidden the courtesy car keys to prevent certain people from using the car, refused to let the tug be used to move disabled aircraft, refused to allow emergency repair work to be done on aircraft, and then apparently notified the FAA when the aircraft had to be flown to another airport. When we have tried to bring flight students in for a week of training that needed hotels and would be spending money in the community, she told them to their face that she did not care and caused them to go elsewhere. It is a nice airport, a great community and a good place to stop on the weekend when the airport manager is not present.
