I am often in Ste Genevieve and if I ever stay over night I always choose to spend my night here. This inn is absolutely fantastic and so beautiful! The first thing I noticed was the decor which is so creative, tasteful and fun! Every time I visit, the inn is always maintained in excellent condition. The whole house and every individual room is so meticulously decorated and you can tell a lot of love and care was put into designing everything in the BnB. The innkeepers are a lovely couple who are very easy to talk to, frequently present and are around to make you feel at home. All staff make an effort to get to know their guests really well. Over the Christmas season, they put up a large Christmas tree in the sitting area which makes the whole inn feel homey, festive and cozy- I could spend all night sitting in front of the fireplace and the tree! They provide breakfast in the morning which is always delicious and plentiful. The blankets and pillows are of high quality- they are thick and plush and so comfortable. The service here is top notch with a true touch of class and is always a very nice experience. Great for all types of travelers/visitors- solo traveling, romantic getaways, girls trips or family getaways. I would definitely come back over and over again!

The…read morebuilding is beautiful with an interesting history and there are so many common rooms to explore (the music room, the saloon -- complete with the classic swinging doors, a game room with an antique billiard table, a garden with a swing, a porch with comfy rocking chairs, and of course the dining room), plus artifacts in the hallways to explore. The innkeepers greeted me with a tour AND a warm chocolate chip cookie and were helpful throughout my stay. Two seating times were offered for breakfast, 8 and 9am, and an hour prior to the seating they set out coffee and fresh butterscotch bread which was delicious, I enjoyed starting my day drinking my coffee and nibbling on my sweet treat on the porch rocking chairs with a book. I'm a vegetarian and even so the innkeepers gave me two options for breakfast the night prior, a drunken caramel French toast and a cheesy potato casserole (a very hard decision, but I went with the French toast which was so tasty.) The main was served with the best blueberry muffin I've ever had, strawberries with yogurt topping, and an orange slice -- indulgent but not excessively so. I stayed in Lulabelle's room which is on the third floor. It was lovely and so charming. I slept well on the gorgeous antique bed and felt cool in the warm summer. I enjoyed a bath in the clawfoot tub along with the herb bath salts left for me. Note that the third floor has slightly steeper stairs than the second floor. I appreciated that each guest was given a set of keys to their room, the outside door, and the garden, which made me feel safe and secure as a single traveler. The hotel is a short walk to the main street of Sainte Genevieve, which is very cute and has a variety of restaurants, shops, and museums to enjoy. The innkeepers were very helpful and had lots of information to share about the town. I was able to get dinner on a Sunday evening. I just wish I had more time! Hope to stay again soon, thank you!

Truck or trailer parking! Yes, you can bring your pets. Easily negotiable with a rollator. Beds are comfortable. Linens are good. Water is hot. Solid surface floors! In town there is a gas station. There are restaurants, most basics you would need. Almost perfect. But ...... I can hear my neighbor sneeze. I can hear the TV sets from both sides. Makes it unfortunately hard to sleep. Oh well. Almost perfect. So close. UPDATE #2: Help! I can hear the neighbor shoring. Through the wall. A l l night long. Such a shame the sound proofing is this subpar. This motel otherwise knocks it out of the park.

Beds clean, bathroom clean, carpet clean. Rooms are a bit on the small side and there are not many outlets to plug in various electronics. No USB outlets that we could find. The walls are thin and noise travels quite a bit. Thumps, thunks, clunks, voices, tvs, doors opening and closing...lots of noise. Room feels echo-y and I feel like we need to whisper. The lighting above the beds reminds me of a hospital room. We don't normally stay at budget hotels but choices in Ste Genevieve are limited. It is about what I expected for a Microtel, although I cannot stress enough how clean it is. If we ever need to stay in Ste Genevieve again, we would probably book a room here again based solely on cleanliness.

When we booked the entire property(mansion, barn and grounds) 2+ years in advance we were elated…read more The tour of the mansion and the property were beautiful. We had also been to a few events at the property before touring it. 9 days before our event(wedding), the owners tried to cancel. 5 days before our event, the owner asked if a man we did not know could share space in the mansion with our wedding crew. The day we check in at the property the barn was not ready. It was dirty and we had to clean it. We also had to place all the tables and chairs that the owners said they would set up per the contract. Every single chair was covered in filth. The owners did not properly clear the snow either. The day of our event the owner kept inserting themselves into our guests and networking. They were also seen taking photos during the ceremony. The guests were facing the owner when they took the photos. The electric service in the barn is not capable of running 3 roasters. We asked about this before planning to use them for the meal; we were told it'll work just fine. It did not. After the lights went out(during reception) my husband, an electrician, looked the service over and said there was no way the roasters could stay on. Due to the owners not clearing the snow properly we had 5 guests get stuck while trying to leave. Going back to when we checked in; Rhonda told us to call her if we needed anything. We dialed her several times and she never answered. I had to go physically find her. There was also a trailer parked right where everyone would walk past to get to the barn. It was loaded up with dead appliances, a used mattress and cardboard boxes. An absolute eyesore. There were also two vehicles parked out there to die as well. Two dead lawn mowers in the tree line too. None of these issues were present when we booked. Everything was pristine and stunning. Inside the mansion the bathrooms were not clean. Toilets had murky water and mold growing in the bowls. There were also dead insects everywhere. As long as Rhonda and Bryan are in charge of the property, I do not recommend Historic Bell Hill. It is such a shame for such a grand property to be ill managed.
