Rental spots are inexpensive and most are pull through sites, which we alway love that. Sites are clean and the bath house is practically brand spanking new with hot showers. The memorial day weekend brought back to back activities which included DJ's for everyone to enjoy tunes, try your hand at games, with mega log fire chats and those lake views. Grab some frozen treats or bags of ice at the office. Again, super friendly and rates are great. Only take cash or checks. They are respectful of quiet hours, most people live here for periods of time.

Affordable camping with two very clean shower houses, fishing, archery ranges, two pavilions and a clubhouse to rent for occasions. We bring our kayaks down sometimes and paddle around the big lake. It's a really nice club to be a part of.

Spent a few days here recently while in the area on our summer walkabout. The park is comfortable,…read morequiet and well spaced out with nice room between sites. This park is a couple miles inland off the highway, the road in is wide and well marked and the route does take you through part of town. I made reservations over the phone and the woman helping me not only gave me a great rate for my stay, she gave me an additional 10% off for my military service. They do support veterans here. Not all RV parks do. The park is pretty much self check in, there is no office per se, but management is available over the phone and via text messages. Our site was down inside the park, site 39, a level gravel pull through with 50 amp service and FHU. All the hooks up were within a few feet of each other making connections simple and straight forward. This park has FHU on every other site, so if you are looking for that be aware not all sites have a sewer drain port. Each site has a concrete patio area with an aluminum picnic table with benches and a fire ring. There are play areas with swings for kids, a small soccer field and a covered gazebo on the end which has a solid concrete floor with picnic table benches, power, water, lights and a huge smoker and bbq station along with a portapotty. There's a self serve ice station up front along with a dumpster, and covered RV storage. Wide gravel roads with no interior trees makes navigation through the park pretty simple and easy. There are some perimeter shaded back in sites along the outside down by the creek and gazebo, otherwise its full sun. The ground are well-kept and have statues carved from wood around the site - Rocky (from Bullwinkle, not the boxer ); Abraham Lincoln; and a rooster on top of a pig on top of a horse - not kidding. Oh, and there are real roosters and hens walking around. Super cool! The sites are gravel and level with fire rings. While the campground is very quiet, there is interstate noise at night - be aware. Also, there seems to be a waste water treatment facility nearby - the occasional funk is not so amazing. Great for an overnight stay or a long weekend away with the kids, especially once the pool opens back up.

He cut a limb from the tree in our yard for 1 of the boys and all of a sudden a man filming him with a phone started walking towards us yelling at him. This was one of the camp host.My husband explained what he was doing and the man continued to film in in front of all the children and yell about the stick he pulled from the tree. My husband apologized and said it wouldn't happen again. About an hour later about an hour later the refugee police pulled up and said that the man had called him grumbling about the tree. We were ticked and fined. I have read other reviews on the FB website where people have written about this particular camp host.

On one side is a playground while the other side has 2 pit toilet buildings labeled "any gender." There was also a grill. The area down the road has the remnants of mounds where the fort ramparts were located. There's a sign which explains the history. In between the two sites there's an old cemetery. Near the entrance there's a sign for the Menard home located down the road not too far. Don't forget to visit it- the architecture is interesting even if the house is closed.
