There was no signage about it so when we arrived we went inside the market to ask. They gave us a pair of scissors to use and let us know that sunflowers were $1 more per stem. (This was a great deal! I've been to other farms that charge more.) We walked through as cut as many flowers that we could fit. The farm wasn't too busy so it was enjoyable. After flower picking we got ice cream from their ice cream window (this was the pricey side) and sat at a picnic table watching the goats. Tranquillity Farms was a short ride up 80 West. They have plenty of parking, fresh produce and other goods in the market, and a jungle gym for the kids. I couldn't find a bathroom - only saw portajohns. They've started their apple picking season so I plan to return soon!

Service: The staff were very helpful when picking out produce and super friendly at the counter. You can tell they take pride in what they do and want customers to have a good experience. Aesthetic: The setup is beautiful and much larger than it first appears, with a welcoming and well-kept layout. It's the kind of place you can easily spend more time at than you planned, just taking in the scenery.

We set sail up to the farm and took the gravel driveway up to the location. They have plenty of parking which made it less stressful. We were immediately ushered to their check in area after parking. A few minutes later we were at our table situated right in the middle of the dahlia field. It was perfect. The flowers were in bloom and it was very romantic. You are permitted to take a stroll in the flower beds and take photos of more than 6,000 dahlias in all of their glory. We did pack a lunch and for dessert we were able to enjoy an assortment of gourmet treats crafted by Wesselhof Farm.  Coffee, tea, homemade lemonade and homemade iced tea are included along with the desserts. It was a lovely day to get out and spend some quality-kid free- time with my better half. Although this event was not a "U-pick" event, they do offer bouquets for sale in the farm stand.

Parking is available on the open grass area. When you enter the main building, the ice cream station is located in the right corner. I got a regular cup ($4.99), which lets you choose up to four flavors. I went with Judy's Coffee, Pop's Chocolate Chip, and Strawberry. The ice cream was really tasty and flavorful -- it tasted homemade. The portion size was also huge. They also have farm animals outside and plants available for purchase. The portions were huge for a regular size. It was $15 for 3 regular sized ice creams which I think is great. They had a ton of plants out. The crust and dough were incredible - so fluffy, perfectly crispy, amazing thick crust. The vegan cheese was also great, and the sauce too. Just a perfect pizza. My dad got a regular Margherita and loved it, and my mom got the fungi pizza with mushrooms and was raving about it. My boyfriend got the pig and fig and (of course) loved it as well. We all raved to each other about how amazing everything was. For a farm to do something like this when they don't need to, shows that they love what they do! We went during the weekday, and it wasn't busy- I'm sure the rain kept people away. We saw animals, apples, pumpkins, and many great snacks inside to buy. They offered cakes, soups, donuts, cider, and more for purchase. We enjoyed our apple picking and the fresh, juicy apples they sell by the pound. There is still an entrance fee per person, but it is lower during the week than during the weekends.

Tickets were around $30 which include a hayride, souvenir bag for apple picking, one pumpkin, access to the corn maze and more. We started with the hayride first it was so relaxing and the air was still cold and crispy. It led us right to the pumpkin area where we got to select one pumpkin then head over to explore the rest of the farm. Apple picking was nice but if you can't do mini hills, you may want to stay on even land. We walked as far as we could to pick apples then headed to the area where they weigh your bag and then you pay for them. There's also pumpkin slingshot that is an additional charge plus food vendors. A lot of the vendors only took cash so keep that in mind. Lastly, we stopped at the store and although it was crowded, we already knew we were there for apple cider and donuts. In addition to that, you'll find salads, sandwiches, pies, apples, candy corn, etc. Definitely get cold or hot cider to go plus a bag of donuts. They have tons of parking too and staff to direct you to an empty spot so no worries there. Just enjoy the day and have fun!!

The sandpit even has toys like dump trucks - my kid would be perfectly happy to just stay there and call it a day! The condition of everything in the main areas is a little grubby, however. I appreciate that they put out plenty of chairs and benches all around for parents to sit on (cos waiting for your child while they play is an unavoidable part of the game), as well as some picnic tables. Prices are fair and reasonable, and entry for kids under 2 is free.

If you buy the walking tickets, you get to walk alongside the alpacas and feed them. I highly recommend paying extra for the walking! The staff is genuinely so friendly and so knowledgeable. Pro tip: the alpacas are more active in the morning because they're waiting for guests to feed them. By the afternoon they're pretty tuckered out from all the feeding. So if you're scared to feed them, the staff suggested booking afternoon tickets. Definitely a great and unique experience!

My lab wanted to go apple picking and we ended up choosing this orchard. I believe there were…read moreothers close to this one, but we went with Ochs because of the low admission fee ($5 per person) and petting zoo. It was an hour and a half drive from upper Manhattan. We went here on a random Wednesday afternoon so we basically had the orchard to ourselves. The first parking lot you see is for their store, you have to keep driving up for the u-pick orchard. There you check in to pay your admission fee, get your wristband, and get your apple picking bag(s). They give you a map where the ripe apples are highlighted for you. My favorite apples were the honeycrisp and snap dragons. They grow vegetables too but honestly we didn't explore the orchard that much (it was huge) so the only other thing I picked besides apples was a tomato, which I felt like was pretty difficult to find a good one. I handed out the apples to other friends and colleagues and they all liked them! There's something different about picking the apple straight off the tree than the apples you would normally just buy at a grocery store. It's a lot crispier when you pick them yourself! The store has apple cider doughnuts! Now being that I am a Californian where we don't have this apple picking culture, I was wondering what all the hype around apple cider doughnuts was about. NOW I GET IT they're so good! Unfortunately since we went on a weekday the doughnuts weren't fresh (they make them fresh on the weekends) so some of them were stale, but most were still good. It's honestly more of a cake than a doughnut, but so good! The doughnuts are self serve towards the back. The store also had a cat on the prowl haha We ended up not even having time to visit the petting zoo, but overall I think my colleagues had a good time here and I would recommend this orchard for anyone trying to have a no frills apple picking experience. I wish I had a way to bring the Amish butter home since a family member has it in their home I often have it with bread in the morning. The staff were friendly, and everything was well-organized. Heads up It's a bit busy during peak times, but that's to be expected at a popular place. But when we came on a Saturday they were practically empty and lady made a joke not to come on the weekends so I assume normally it's a busy day or they dedicate it to stocking up since when we came I saw about 3 of the staff unboxing stuff. Overall, a really enjoyable experience with a charming atmosphere. I'll definitely be coming back next season!
