I work at the same farmers market as race farm on Saturdays and I have to say they have the best fresh produce around. I make my own spices and spice blends and I use their veggies for most of it. They also make fantastic jams that are to die for. read more

Disappointing visit not sure where to begin. First off prices they've been going up year over year for the pick your own vegetables but this time around they were very close to the supermarket prices, which sort of put me off a little bit. The crops are the usual bunch Tomatoes, Peppers, Eggplants but it seems that everything is coming early this year and it seems to be getting overriped so I am we were looking at tomatoes that were bursting on the bush. The Eggplants are priced not per pound but each, which got us the first year we came there, so we usually didn't pick them. Usually we go there for apples so hopefully a review will become a little better when apples go in season. P.S. Labor day weekend 2017 peaches were still picking but it seems that these peaches don't last. In 2 days they were covered in mold for no good reason. May be it was too wet this year but I can't be sure. read more

Came here on a Sunday to go apple picking and grab pumpkins with friends. We arrived around 3PM and there was a good amount of people there trying to participate in the same things as us. We walked inside the little store and grabbed a basket for apples. There's a tractor ride that can take you down and around on a hay ride of you can choose to walk into the orchards yourself. At this time of year there were still a good amount of apples left on the trees but also so many that have fallen to the ground. Manly apples were cracked in half still on the branches. I managed to find some golden delicious and some other sweet apples. My friends ended up getting two pumpkins along with their apples and they walked away paying just about $30. I didn't think that was too bad. I was a little bit disappointed in the look of the apple cider donuts and the woman next to me who purchased them said not to get any after she bit into one. read more

There's a ton of options for apple picking in this area but we chose Race Farm because they had fresh veggies and fruits already picked, in a small market area (cider donuts as well!). It was pretty empty when we got there, and we sadly thought all the "good apples" were gone but nope! A ton of options, clearly labels with never ending rows of each kind. You get to grab a wagon, as many baskets as you'd like, and take your time roaming the area. (apples are about $1 per pound.) They also have pumpkins, raspberries, squash, tomatoes, etc etc! available for the picking. The drive out there is also very pleasant and colorful (spotted a rainbow on the way home even). Though we stayed about 30 min after their closing time, there was no rush or fuss. Also, there's plenty of parking available - but it's not exactly a lot.. This is a great farm, its huge. I went here primarily for pumpkin and apple picking but also wound up picking kale right out of the ground and grabbed some cider and a cauliflower. You should probably get a little wheelbarrow to collect your findings. There were varieties of apples I had never heard of before and it was pretty clearly labeled and there was a map. I got a pretty large pumpkin here, they were about 79cents/lb. The people were friendly and although there were only two registers and no one seemed in a rush the line didn't take long. Inexplicably, an adolescent boy sitting on one of the hayride hit me with a BB gun. But I doubt this is part of the standard experience, just saying-beware! read more

We had a wonderful day at Race Farm. Arriving at 10am, there was still parking. The staff and visitors all wore masks, which made us feel safer. And the apples we picked are AMAZING. We took home a big basket of Ida Reds, from the back fields, and they made terrific applesauce. They are the tartest apples I've ever tasted. It's late October, and there are still raspberries and green beans, too. My kids (9 and 11) loved the chance to ride behind the tractor, and the driver was nice enough to wait for us while we picked out pumpkins. Still many good ones left! There are other farms with more gimmicks, but if you are looking for a safe outing, good veggies, and a chance to see pigs, this is perfect. read more

Walked up and was right away tuned back for not being able to wear a mask. The rest of my group did and this is an totally outdoor place to pick some apples. Been coming here for 18 yrs and this will be my last and they will never get my money! As I sit in my car I observed the parking area is littered with used masks and trash. Now others without masks and no one says anything Also no reserved parking for handicap....horrible! read more

Major shortfall, in so many ways, in comparison to other farms here in the Pocono mountains. Poorly coordinated structure of activity. Poor signage. Crops aren't harvested, so much waste! Super pricey for a sub par Farm stand. Bad and weird choice of offerings Poorly merchandised shop. Clearly no investment in this place, like a bad restaurant. But mostly.... the most disappointing part of this experience was the rude and inconsiderate staff!!! Imagine going to a restaurant, ordering food, getting served and being yelled at to leave because it's 5 O'Clock and this waitress has to go home. That's exactly what happened to us. First of all, you tell people 5? Don't expect to leave till at least 6. Treat paying customers with respect. Be thankful. A short, stalky, blonde, shoulder length hair, leopard framed eye glass wearing women was running around yelling, with arms flaring like a five yrs old child. I witnessed her yelling at a nice Indian family with two full wagons of produce, (you have to go now! Get in there and pay now! ) then come flaring back grunting under her breath complaining. My family and I, we chose a basket and a half of apples. My 5 yr old girl was picking apples form the ground because she didn't want to waste food. At the counter, my husband says, $44.00 for apples? Wait, let me just check these, knowing my kid threw bad ones in the basket, he didn't want to have to pay for bad ones (again, so much waste on the ground) . We explain this to the women and she says "you picked them, you pay for them, with a total attitude!" And persisted to have a fit on us, in front of our two little girls ruining their whole experience! What a way to remember your first apple picking experience. We went back out to the front of the stand, sorted our apples and paid for a full basket of apples along with overly sweetened apple cider. Next time, I'll stay on my side of the river.. This place is great! I went on a family trip to go apple and pumpkin picking in October. They have a large open area with a bunch of picnic tables for people to sit at. We brought some lunch with us and enjoyed it there in the picnic table area. My nephews played with the wagons in that area while we ate. It was so cute! There weren't as many people there as we were expecting, and it was so nice that way. We could roam around as we pleased without giant crowds and people all over the place. They have TONS of apples to choose from, and they're giant apples! Biggest apple I've ever seen!! Every apple I tried was delicious and we got a bunch! And the trees aren't too tall so it's nice and easy to see the apple and pick them. No need for those basket grabbers on giant sticks!! There was a tractor ride that takes you out to the apple orchard, and comes around to pick you back up. Great fun for the kids! Every time they went passed us they would stop and ask us if we needed to be picked up. Along the way, we saw some farm animals there. They have a cow named Freddy who was very friendly and actually posed for pictures! We also saw quite a few pigs eating some lunch as we were finishing up in the orchards. Closer to the farm, they have all sorts of veggies you can pick as well! Some include assortments of peppers, eggplants, tomatoes, kale, beans, and some others! They had a great selection of pumpkins ranging in all sizes. They make their own apple cider, apple cider doughnuts, AND coffee chip ice cream right there on the premises!! I indulged in it all and it was all delicious!! They also make organic vanilla ice cream, but I couldn't pass up the coffee chip!! This is a family run farm, and the owners are all SO nice!! Overall, it's highly recommended for all ages! Whether you're a young couple, or a whole family. We all had a great day together here and will definitely be back.
