While I'm generally satisfied with the service received, they employed deceptive pricing and billing. When I was contacted by the business I was quoted $110/hr plus - specifically so I would be aware of the full cost/charge spectrum - the cost of any chemicals consumed. Upon receiving the bill, the time billed was well over the time the Technician was working on the pool. I challenged this with detail to the time he was here. In response I was nonchalantly told that the distance to my residence from their office was 'such a long drive' (Norman to NW OKC) so the time to get here was included. It was very easy for them to casually demand that after the fact, but apparently hard to think that was a cost customers should be aware of upfront. As I had been taking cost estimates from other providers for this job, this omission deceptively skewed their cost profile against their competition. I called them 3 weeks in advance to get the pool cleaners out to the home before I flew home. The girl told me it would be around the "20th" as they were pretty busy, I explained that it was Fine since I was flying home on the 29th. I called 3 times to confirm the appointment and they told me they had to call me back. Not a single person EVER called me. I then called the 28th to make sure it was completed. The girl told me that the guy came out on the 19th. Well, I arrived last night and to my dismay, my pool is disgusting. So either the staff can't figure out how to get things scheduled or the cleaner doesn't know how to do their job. read more

I've shopped at Thompson Pool's location on 24th and I've had them out to my house more than once for maintenance and installation of pool products. The prices for home visits are very reasonable. Additionally, and as important, they are thorough and stand behind their work. When I had a saline system installed in my home, I was given a very thorough tutorial on operating and maintaining the new system. I shopped around and found Thompson's prices for opening and closing pools to be mostly commensurate with other companies in central Oklahoma. If you pay a little more for Thompson it's worth it; their work is that good. The store is fantastic, it has everything you could want/need for your pool, plus patio furniture, pool tools, and other stuff for fun outdoor living. Bring a sample of your water in (they provide you a container) and they'll test it there for free. Based on the results, they'll tell you what they recommend for your pool. Their system is much more precise than the testing strips you can use at home. My last trip to Thompson, Mike (the owner I believe) was helping me with a new vacuum. He told me he preferred a brand that wasn't the most expensive, so that's what I went with. It's nice having a place you can trust, not just one that wants to sell you the most expensive product every time. I will continue to shop at Thompson for my chemicals and to use them for service calls. Very highly recommended. read more
