They completely understood they were in his territory and were very professional. The fish they purchased have done pretty well. They did have one die, but they were very quick to replace it at no charge. Unfortunately, the turtles they bought bolted. They stayed around for a day or two then they disappeared. I was told a free clean out, was included with my pond purchase. I was told on several occasions that I was on the waiting list but after months, I call back and personnel could not find me in their system. My pond is out of warranty now and they finnaly called me back only to say they weren't required to clean out my pond. The installation was not done according to how I was told it would be. Minimum materials were used, undoubtedly to save cost on their end. As a result of poor construction, it has been a nightmare to maintain. Their sales contract had some clauses about posting negative reviews. A business that doesn't want reviews posted is probably sub standard as I have discovered. The owner may try to sue me for being honest about how I was treated and that's fine. I'll see you in court. There have probably been other customers that were successfully bullied into not letting anyone know about the service they have received. Buyer beware. PS there is a wonderful pond company in Shawnee Oklahoma, that I have dealt with on several occasions .They also have maintenance people that are available in the Norman area who are a pleasured work with. read more

Built me a $21K pond and the best i can say is that it's adequate. Didn't build waterfalls as I requested and didn't build the overflow area correctly. Water was going under the liner creating huge bubbles on bottom of the pond. They charged me to fix the overflow area and wanted $6K to make the waterfalls the way I had initially requested. I attempted to return a UV filter that was still under warranty and was told they could not accept the return because I did not have the physical paper receipt from almost two years ago. I had printed off proof and date of purchase which is all I needed to fill out the warranty claim for the manufacturer. The staff did physically show me a sign they have at the register that receipts are required for returns. My question is why? I had proof of purchase. Why require the actual receipt? The only reason I can determine would be to make it harder to return items. This seems the opposite of customer service. I had horrible customer service when I purchased this item in the first place. I could have saved 30% and bought the same item online. However, I want to support my local businesses and I like to buy in person for customer service. Two times in a row I have been met with a resistance to being helpful. I feel like a am going to a hipster coffee shop wherein the staff is intentionally unhelpful. I don't expect that from a local garden pond store. I just don't understand the attitude and the unwillingness to provide the best customer service possible. I am sure it is a hassle for staff to return items ... but isn't that part of the job? I ended up going to Oklahoma Ponds in Edmond to get a different, better, and cheaper UV filter and it was night and day in terms of the outstanding service I received at Oklahoma Ponds. At least I will never have to endure Garden Ponds Limited again as I now know their service is consistently horrible and I have the option of a superior competitor. read more

This company is unbelievable. I got to work with the owner Mike Lukas very closely in the design of my pondless waterfall. The result I had was one of the most beautiful waterfalls I've ever seen. The staff that came out to build it was very professional. We actually had a problem in which immediately after the waterfall was built we had a heavy rain. The heavy rain washed out a small portion of the dirt right underneath the waterfall summit and I called to have this repaired. Within it that day a team (Mitch and Chris came out to repair the waterfall. They were very clear in explaining the maintenance and promised to always be very responsive to any problems or issues that I might ever have in the future. Incidentally, they provide maintenance services for you if desired. I have nothing but good things to say about this company and absolutely would pick them if you want any kind of pond or waterfall or aquarium supplies. read more

I am a 12 year customer of Garden Ponds Unlimited. My Koi pond & waterfall was built in 2006 by Garden Ponds Unlimited. The installation was excellent. Since then, I have used their annual clean out and only 2 small maintenance service calls. The crew has always been very excellent. They thoroughly inspect, clean and repair the pond and waterfall. My pond was last cleaned November 2018, crew member Mike did an absolutely terrific job. He rebuild the pond rock shelves so I can place potted plants. Needed some advice on Mosquito repellent ideas other than my own research of MosquitoDunks. They showed me the Dunks. Then I asked for low maintenance plants and they took me out into the plant tanks and most looked poor. No guidance or assistance. Lastly and my all time pet peeve as we paid cash on one plant and the dunks we were asked for name address and -the best part -a signature to confirm we see the return policy. When I asked why the info is needed -the cashier boldly says well if we have a problem a credit card or future purchase or ?????? -What? When I notified Mike at Garden Ponds I was told since they did not install the pond, they could not guarantee any work. He even refused to send someone out if I would pay for any repairs. Very disappointed in their services and professionalism. Recently I inquired on how to improve my farm pond. I had an algae problem and the pond was looking terrible. Because it would be 2+ weeks before they could someone to actually look at it, Mike requested I send detailed photos of the pond to ascertain what was needed. He said he was the expert and would be able to tell me what to purchase for a quick fix. So we agreed to purchase the pond plants and chemicals he recommended from him. $500+ and a week later, all the plants we placed in the pond were destroyed by turtles which he neglected to tell me would be a problem. The chemical power to control the algae didn't work either. A week later we contacted them and spoke to another sales rep there. He said that the turtles were definitely the culprit and there was nothing they could do. He admitted to fault as it should have been brought up in the discussion before purchased the plants, however only apologized. We asked for a partial refund however, they were very rude and said that's not their normal practice. We suggested possibly giving us a credit for purchasing an additional fountain pond at a later time and they said maybe they could do something but once again stressed that it wasn't their normal practice. Bottom line, for being the resident experts on pond management, I personally would not trust them or their advice. It's all about the dollar and profit for them, and customer service is secondary. Purchased pond light fixtures from this store. Upon the purchase we were convinced by the store the lights would work for our project. Leary if the lights would work we were assured they could be returned. The lights did not work, they were insufficiant lightning. Returned to the store yesterday to return the lights noticing we did not have the receipt the gentleman told us to return with the receipt no problem. Today, driving back to Moore and returning to the store with the receipt, they refused to accept the return. I am now out several hundred for fixtures, time and gas.
