We had fun creating a nice design and planting lots of awesome trees and bushes. Fast forward 17 years and all those little trees and bushes are fully mature. One of our trees is an olive tree. It was fun to watch it grow; however, one of its limbs shot up faster than the rest of the tree to over 20 feet tall. It was also growing over the fence into my neighbors yard. About five weeks ago, Sacramento saw some of the highest winds in recent history. The maximum recorded speed was 65 mph. That was enough to completely blow our backyard wood fence completely to the ground. With the fence down, I took the opportunity to do some major trimming of the backyard trees and plants. The olive tree, however, was just too high for me to feel comfortable about climbing up and trimming. I decided it was time to call a tree service. But which one? Yelp to the rescue! Spartan tree service was able to come out on a Wednesday evening to give a quote. Christian, the owner was very thorough and walked around our house, talked about the 8 trees they would trim back. He and his crew were able to come Friday (Same week) and did an amazing job at giving our very over grown trees, a very needed trim, Along with clearing them off the roof. Last year, Christian removed all the mistletoe from my huge Modesto Ash, trimmed my also huge Mulberry to comply with insurance requirements (and he knew exactly what they would want), and he took down a small tree stump I had pruned down myself. He graciously took away debris from much other pruning I did myself. This year, he did a smaller job to trim my Mulberry out of utility wires and to remove all of it's street overhang. Contacted Christian the night of the big recent storm about some big Redwood trees that were too close to the house and potential hazards we have been worried about for some time. The next day he came out and gave us a very reasonable quote and got us in the same week. Showed up on time, guys were all very hard working and trees were taken down, chipped and gone in 1 day as promised. I had a big job, with 14 huge palm trees that had to be taken out of a relatively small backyard with a pool, a pool shed and other trees to navigate as they were taking down the trees. Several were growing up on to the concrete around the pool, so presented some extra logistical challenges for them to figure out as they were taking them out and grinding stumps. The guys were very professional and amazed me with their ability to figure out how to get huge trees down safely in tight spaces. The price was extremely fair, done quickly and done well. Christian with Spartan Tree Service is the man. Though I haven't had Spartan cut any trees for me yet, this is a different kind of review, Quick story on the type of person Christian is and the type of character he has. It was like 8:30 on a random Tuesday night... My kids & I were out at a park flying a drone. Long story short, the drone got stuck high up in a tree. I tried to climb it, but where the drone was stuck, it was almost impossible to reach it by climbing. It was way past normal business hours & honestly never thought we were going to find anyone to help us get it back. I called spartan tree service already knowing that it was a crazy request, knowing that this was not something they normally do on a regular basis, answering random help calls for drones stuck in trees, it was completely after hours, also keeping in mind how much it costs for a company to send a truck out somewhere with fuel costs / labor etc. I just called to see if any possible way, they could come out and help us with their bucket truck. Without hesitation and within 20 minutes Christian was out there on site with his truck and got us our drone back. I offered to pay him for the service and Christian told me not to worry about it this time, he said that he was happy to help us and to just consider it a community service. I am positive Christian had just worked a full day himself and was probably exhausted, he was Just getting back home from his work day when I called him for help. He could have laughed and hung up the phone and I wouldn't have blamed him. But he came out and saved our day and did it all with a good vibes and a smile on his face. Requested an estimate for a tree trimming, made contact with someone Monday 8/5/24 and she attempted to set us up with a meet that evening but we had other obligations so she scheduled a meet at 9:00-10:00 the following morning (8/6/24). No one showed up and no one called to let us know they were not coming. I tried to call several times with no answers. Somewhat disappointing, not sure I understand the high ratings I for one have never been stood up like this so pretty tough to even deliver a 1 star, especially with a no show and no reason as to why. read more
