Christian and his crew did a phenomenal job pruning a large, infested oak tree encroaching our backyard. They removed the exact limbs and branches as discussed, and did so without damaging all the delicate plants underneath in our garden. I had a great experience with BGP Tree Service. Chris did the initial estimate and was professional and friendly. On the day the work was to start, they showed up on time and did everything we agreed upon. All of the trees looked great and they cleaned up after themselves. Probably the most important attribute after tree trimming. Don't be fooled by one review. As a general contractor, I see BS all the time, especially with the current construction climate. I have a giant beautiful live oak right next to my house that needed to be trimmed, but after having a bad experience with a previous tree trimmer, I was nervous about hiring someone. I already had one quote from a local company when Christian showed up at my house. He was just driving by (because I live on a busy street) and noticed my tree needed some work, so he volunteered to give me a quote. I was wondering why someone from San Jose was looking for work all the way up in Rocklin, but after I spent a few minutes talking to him and learning how he had just moved to Lincoln from the Bay Area and was building his business here, I decided to give him a try. He seemed honest, and I believed him when he said he wanted to make sure my tree was beautiful and healthy. He came the next day and did an amazing job trimming the tree away from the house and making it look amazing. He even left the yard cleaner than when he arrived, cleaning up some old dead branches under the tree when he left. I had two trees that needed to be removed and three trees that needed to be trimmed back. Christian listened to my wishes. He said that he could return on Wednesday to do the work. Christian came on the agreed-upon date and completed the work exactly as I wished. His price was very reasonable. He works quickly, does a thorough job, and, in my opinion, is most trustworthy. I did not have to supervise his work. Christian was recommended to me by my neighbor, who has also used him several times. This is the second time that I have asked Christian to work on my trees. Christian was awesome and I would hire him back in a heartbeat! We had three birch trees that were in the front and very close to our home. Due to the drought, the birch died. We knew we had to get them removed but, like with a lot of other things, we procrastinated to get them taken care of. Due to the heavy rain and wind this particular week, branches started to fall and then limbs. I was terrified that they would come down on our home, the neighbor's home and that someone would be hurt. We called three different companies. They all called back after leaving messages but Christian was the only one who answered upon calling. He arrived in the time he said he would, about an hour to an hour and a half, gave us a comparable quote to the others but the big difference was that he could do it the same day! Big plus because this was an emergency!! He was personable, professional, cleaned up great and did great work! He even took the chopped up wood with him because he didn't want it to be out there for too long before garbage day. He even left me some of the birch to satisfy me Pinterest needs! (Lots of fun things that you can do with birch!) It was pouring rain and he was soaked! I am strongly suggesting that nobody utilize BGP Tree Service. They might do satisfactory work however, if something goes wrong they cannot be trusted to do the right thing. My next door neighbor used them to bring down some tall trees in her yard. These trees were right up against my fence. While bringing one of these down they managed to drop a large (10 feet plus) section of trunk onto my outdoor sofa and armchair set. The trunk went through the seat of my armchair. Luckily there wasn't much real damage to the rest of the set. The young man Christian who had made the error came over and said all of the right things about paying for the chair. I asked if they had insurance, but he said this was too small to involve the insurance. I looked up the replacement cost and we agreed on a price of $425 based on the cheapest prices I could find including any potential tax and shipping. We set an appointment for the following Saturday so he could drop off a payment. He did not show and when asked about it he said that he knocked, but no one answered. We had people home so we doubt this. He then told me that he had rent coming up and asked to pay the following week. I agreed and we set another appointment for Friday June 3rd. About 30 minutes prior to that meeting he emailed me saying he would not be able to make it. No suggestion of another time, no explanation. Since then he has refused to answer any of my communication attempts. I was more than fair with him. Now my neighbor has been forced to eat the cost of this by paying for the chair. That is how someone takes responsibility, thank you neighbor. Personally, I hope she takes BGP Tree Service to small claims court, but I understand that is a hassle. To summarize I ask that you let these guys know what happens when a business does not practice accountability for their actions. Thank you. read more
