The awesome view from Cara's window while she was doing my hair.

Upon entering, there were two girls at the desk. I wasn't greeted, I had to tell the girl my name. She then asked if I had ever been there before. I said no and she gave me a form to fill out. I found this very unprofessional as I should have been greeted properly and she should have welcomed me and known that I had never been there. Now on to the great experience! Cara came out and welcomed me with a great smile. I was originally scheduled for a blowout and a consult for color. Cara took the time to really talk to me and ask me what I wanted and helped me figure out what color and highlights I wanted. I was her last appointment of the day and she gave me the option to have my color done that same day. I said absolutely!! She even suggest a conditioner treatment to help with my damaged hair which left my hair silky smooth. It was amazing how soft my hair was. The color turned out amazing!! I absolutely love it!! I had 3 different people stop me and ask about my hair later that night. I will definitely be returning and seeing Cara again. I only gave 4 stars because of the girls out front. It was evident that they were inexperienced.

    biolage done perfectly!

I decided to go bold. Step outside of what I have done to my hair FOREVER. Siobhan was amazing. The care she took in listening to my ideas and helping me make the best decisions for my hair type, face shape, and skin care was so personal and customized. A true professional. She was personable and friendly and more importantly, skilled at the job at hand. The process included a head massage at the shampoo bowl and a hand massage after the hair was finished! My son is getting married in June and I wanted something different but age appropriate. Siobhan nailed it. Gorgeous cut and vibrant, beautiful mix of colors. The experience was decedent and I will become a regular now! Spa building is beautiful. Top of the line, no detail missed and services that include massages, facials, pedicures, manicures and fitness classes (yoga and zumba)!!

First time there and had the gel manicure with the spa add on for $50. My nail polish too thick and the skin around nails looks so so. I had a gift card so was glad I did not spend my own money.

I like the creative holiday samples. I went with the grinch

"wonderful atmosphere, clean and friendly salon"…read more Diana has done my nails and toes for 15 + years to the point I have a every 2 week standing appointment. I moved out of Mechanicsburg 9 years ago adding 30 minutes to my travel time to have my nails done by Diana. John and Diana after all these years are like my adopted family!

Then she gouged my cuticle last March and blood went everywhere. The biggest problem was that she seemed unclear how to keep my blood from getting on all the brushes and buffers she continued to use on me. It seemed she was trying to avoid her co-workers from seeing what had happened. My finger was still bleeding when I left the salon and was swollen and sore for days. I reluctantly visited again but requested John for my pedicure and my toes looked great but had his head turned towards the television most of the time and mumbled nothing more than "is this your color?". He didn't he acknowledge that I was on crutches which seemed somewhat rude considering I'd been coming here for years. Maybe he was having a bad day but it felt dismissive. Being treated politely should be an simple expectation for a salon to meet considering people go there to feel a bit pampered. They definitely fail to fulfill that on a regular basis, not to mention the blood contamination concerns. I don't look forward to coming here, so I'm sadly going to be looking for another salon.

After saying no to gel 4x ( I understand they need to upsell but 4 times is a lot) I sat and started. My mom only had to say no to gel once to her nail tech. My pedicure took only 20 minutes and it shows. I went to dry my nails and my mom went to pay. She paid both pedicures with her tech and then personally went and gave both techs cash tips. We sat while our nails dried for about 10 more minutes. We got up, said our goodbyes to the front desk and started towards the car. We got about half way through the parking lot when Mei, my nail tech, ran out and started screaming for us. I thought I forgot something so we turned back. She was yelling asking if we paid?! Across the parking lot. Of course we paid my mother paid both in cash and even gave her a cash tip personally. She said she only checked with the front desk and not my moms tech that she paid with. It was humiliating and felt like discrimination. I don't suggest going to this nail salon if you are not white, but if you do, make sure to announce to the whole salon when you pay. Only giving two stars because my moms tech was very nice and did a good job on her pedicure.

On the other side of the reception area Camille was frantically trying to get ahold of the company that prints her gift certificates. I think she was hoping to curb some future shortage before it happened. After finishing up, she apologized profusely, and took me to the back room. Before exiting so that I could take off my clothes and snuggle under the covers, Camille engaged me in a highly entertaining discussion about her recent travels (due to a physical ailment that kept her from massaging) and the massage college she attended in Florida. By the time the conversation shifted to my body soreness and areas for her to focus on, I had been on the clock for about fifteen minutes or so. I was concerned. At most of the wham, bam, thank you maim type massage parlors I've frequented, when you pay for an hour, you never really get an hour. I've been known to inundate my massage therapists with questions such as "Wait, my hour includes undressing time?" and "Are seriously going to do breathing exercises and share a yogurt with your pet pufferfish that you keep in the bathroom while my clock ticks down?" for that very reason. But at Camille Baughman, when you pay for an hour you get an hour. Or an hour and five. Camille takes her time to do things right and isn't (or at least doesn't give off the impression of being) a clock watcher. I really like that. But what I love most about Camille's massages is that she listens and caters them to your needs. Remember that conversation we had at the beginning? The one where she asked me what areas to focus on? I have that same conversation with every massage therapist I visit. The lot of them pretend to listen and then just go about their typical routine. Did they really put more effort into my quads? I couldn't tell. With Camille, you can tell. When I asked for her to focus on my quads, she did. She did more with them than anyone else I've ever visited. Another thing that Camille does well is that she isn't afraid to push deep. Her deep isn't an I intend to make you writhe with pain type of deep but more of an organized and controlled pressure. It is the type of pressure that pushes one to the verge of pain but never really crosses the line into unpleasantness. Camille prides herself on her ability to provide a good massage. She doesn't need to dress it up by offering a lot of the things that other spas do. You won't see signs promoting chocolate face spritzers or lavender eyebrow threads or potpourri wax glaze. Its just hands and elbows meet back and shoulders. I don't say this lightly: Camille, of Camille Baughman & Associates, gives the best massage I've ever had. It is one of the reasons I really look forward to the holidays in PA.
