This place is amazing! I love how you can relax before and after your massage. They have a very relaxing quiet room, a sauna, a steam shower, robes, beverages, etc. Most places around here you get your massage and then you have to leave. Let me start by saying that if you are going to this place based of the reviews then you should double check, I unfortunately made that mistake and now it's costing me. I was looking up places in the area that offer dermaplanning, I've had this done 4 times before in the DC area with zero issues, little redness but that's given considering they're scrapping a blade across your face but hey beauty is worth it right! Well I happened to bump across this place in my search. I had been here years before to get waxes with no problems so I said what the heck lets try them, I set myself up an appointment online. When I walked into the salon I was very greeted (not very politely but atleast she said hello) by one of the receptionist. I was asked my name and told to have a seat, now usually most places ask you if you'd like a beverage or something but I figured maybe since they have a cafe they don't ask people. Though I did spot a glass canistar with what looked like lemon water sitting on a window sill which I figured was for clients. I waited for about 10 minutes before Amy the tech called me back. She brought me into the back room and told me to lie down on the bed. She made a little chit chat while she gathered her things before starting. Now like I've said before I've had dermaplanning done to my face before but I've never had an experience like this. There was literally no time for relaxation I feel like this was a race for her. The minute she started scraping my face it was silence, there were multiple parts of my face that she went over 5-6 times, not to mention she jerked my neck a couple of times instead of asking me to rotate it. All in all I think I was there less than 20 minutes for her to do my entire face, slap some cream on my skin that BURNED because of the face that there were nicks all over my face from where she cut me and called it a day. I was terrified on my way home to look in my mirror because I was afraid I would cry because I knew something was wrong so I waited this I got home. My entire face was covered in bumps like looked like a rash not to mention I had blood spots from where she had cut me including a giant part in the middle of my eyebrows that looks like she cut a chunk of my skin out. Fast forward to the next day and I'm living in a nightmare, I'm even afraid to put makeup on or using skin care products besides aloe because I'm scared it'll irritate my skin again. Lesson learned though I would never step foot in the place again. read more

Upon entering, there were two girls at the desk. I wasn't greeted, I had to tell the girl my name. She then asked if I had ever been there before. I said no and she gave me a form to fill out. I found this very unprofessional as I should have been greeted properly and she should have welcomed me and known that I had never been there. Now on to the great experience! Cara came out and welcomed me with a great smile. I was originally scheduled for a blowout and a consult for color. Cara took the time to really talk to me and ask me what I wanted and helped me figure out what color and highlights I wanted. I was her last appointment of the day and she gave me the option to have my color done that same day. I said absolutely!! She even suggest a conditioner treatment to help with my damaged hair which left my hair silky smooth. It was amazing how soft my hair was. The color turned out amazing!! I absolutely love it!! I had 3 different people stop me and ask about my hair later that night. I will definitely be returning and seeing Cara again. I only gave 4 stars because of the girls out front. I decided to go bold. Step outside of what I have done to my hair FOREVER. Siobhan was amazing. The care she took in listening to my ideas and helping me make the best decisions for my hair type, face shape, and skin care was so personal and customized. A true professional. She was personable and friendly and more importantly, skilled at the job at hand. The process included a head massage at the shampoo bowl and a hand massage after the hair was finished! My son is getting married in June and I wanted something different but age appropriate. Siobhan nailed it. Gorgeous cut and vibrant, beautiful mix of colors. The experience was decedent and I will become a regular now! Spa building is beautiful. An absolute pleasure! This passed weekend, I attended SPAtacular for the second time. I had a nice first experience, but my recent experience was something different. I threw a small (8 people total) surprise party at the facility for my mother for her birthday. All of us were delighted with the service, hospitality, and facility. We were provided a room where we could hang out and bring food lounge. Then they come and got us throughout the day for our services and checked in periodically. I think their prices are behind fair (although I can only comment on the spa and nail services) considering the care and complimentary things you receive and the beauty of the facility. I cannot comment on everyone's services, but I received a therapeutic and stone massage from Carla. I loved that, even though they are separate purchases, she incorporated the stones throughout the entire massage, altering between the stone and therapeutic techniques. She really isolated and attended to the spots I needed. More than anything, the care and attention I received when trying to get this gathering planned was unparalleled! Shelly was responsive, cooperative, and enthused. She did her best to make this happen for us, and it ended up making my mom's birthday :) After this experience, I intend on coming here regularly, and I recommend it to everyone. Walked in and we weren't greeted by what seemed to be the normal front desk but someone that was helping out because her client had cancelled . She was very attentive and definitely started off our experience on the right foot. First time for me and my sister in law for a facial here and I have to say from start to finish it was a wonderful experience . I had a Lauren who made me so comfortable and really could tell that I have a hard time relaxing and my problem areas with the massage. She also suggested products that could help my skin. My sister in law had Amy and she said she was wonderful . We were offered water from the beginning and additional things regardless of the original appointment . I've had multiple manicures and pedicures and they were wonderful. I love the gel-ish polish because it doesn't chip or ruin my natural nails underneath, plus it's almost instantly dry so I don't have to worry about messing it up before I get home. I gave this place two chances and it disappointed both times. First time I got a girl that seemed very rookie. Her blow drying technique was very rookish and I told her I liked my hair finished w a curling iron and no flat iron. She said she had no time so flat ironed the blowout job she did poorly and sent me out. The second time, I asked for an experienced hairstylist and she said she had not had any experience working with extensions. I'm like, really? Ok no worries. I just gave her some direction on how to dry. She was nice and pleasing. But again, her technique was elementary. Using a squared brush to blow dry long curly hair. (You need to straighten the hair out!) She brushed from underneath, never from top. A good stylist holds hair right and uses a round brush under and also over the hair strand. A good one also doesn't rely on flat irons to straighten hair. I also told her I wanted it curled. So she did very patiently. When I get to the cash register they wanted to charge me $44 for blowout/style PLUS $40 for curling. I was livid. $84 for blowout and style. Curling iron IS styling! I come from LA and NYC and I have never in my life paid $84 for a blowout and walked out with mediocre jobs. Never going back again. These ladies need to go to real beauty academies. Unreal. Finally...a REAL day spa in the Mechanicsburg area! There are many places that tout themselves as 'day spas', but most are really hair and nail salons that also provide some services that one would find in a spa but lack the overall atmosphere, space, etc. However, Spatactular fits the bill and is a true day spa. My first appointment there was today. Everyone was very cordial and the atmosphere was relaxing. While I would not rate the pedicure I had as the best ever, the rest of the experience made up for it. My tech seemed to be new and learning the ropes (although very sweet); I wasn't offered a beverage like other guests who came in during my time there, and the services took a very long time (lots of redoing as some of the color kept bleeding onto my skin). My husband and I visited this spa for the first time over the weekend. I booked a couples massage and it was great! The atmosphere is nice and relaxing. Our massage therapists were friendly and did a great job. I hoped my husband would enjoy it. This was only his 2nd time getting a massage, his first time, at another spa, was not great so I hoped this time would be different and it was.
