It was Monday night and you get $5 burgers Monday nights and it was busy as usual, we waited 2 hours for hour food which usually never happens because we go every Monday night.Then we saw our waitress while waiting for our food outside talking to someone while I think she was smoking a cigarette right outside intro t of us in the window. But the food was good but also the chips were cold and there always warm so I thing they were sitting there for a while. Also our waiter was not checking on us so for and hour we had empty drinks and some people the were eating with us left because of the food wait so if you are gonna go don't on Monday nights especially with the kids that have a earlier bedtime. read more

The atmosphere here is like a sports bar moved into an old folks home. Went to Spaulding's with a couple of friends and we couldn't talk over the screaming drunk 50+ year olds at the bar, the music was too quiet to enjoy, and despite there being maybe 2-3 tables seated, our waitress seemingly forgot we existed. It took probably 10 minutes to get our menus, then another 10-15 minutes for the waitress to come take our drink orders, then 20 minutes to get our drinks, then 15 minutes after that to take our food orders. I'm going to start off by saying I'm originally from NY. And I love chicken wings with a passion, mainly traditional Buffalo wings. I've lived in Wichita for almost 3 years now, and I have tried almost every place for wings, and Spauldings is hands down the best wings I have ever had. They rival traditional NY Buffalo wings and are a must to try. The bar is also a very relaxing and welcoming place with an amazingly gracious and friendly staff. We have been here a couple of times & just can't get behind this restaurant. We've tried a variety- Cubans, Reuben , chili dog, wings, jalapeño bites and most all of it lacks flavor. The sauce seems to be watered down. You taste more of the breading on the poppers then the stuff inside. Can't go wrong with the beer, but again, the margarita lacks flavor! Came here on Super Bowl Sunday. Place was beautifully decorated. We had a decent size group of 8 people but there was hardly anyone in the whole place. The waiter had to be called over to take our order because she took so long. And then they didn't bring out the appetizers first. We probably wait half an hour for the first batch of food to come out. I thought it was taking so long because they were going to bring it out all at once. But no. So the first four plates came out. Mine was completely cold.... and they forgot the fried pickles (which should've come out first anyways). Then ten minutes later, 3 more plates came out. And finally, the other guy who also got the Mac and cheese, his came out and was warm. So I'm not sure why they didn't cook the two orders of Mac and cheeses together. And why mine was cold and his wasn't. Based on it being cold, it didn't taste very good. Then after we were all done eating, waitresses kept coming by to bring us sample foods. They also started putting peanuts and popcorn on all the other tables. Which was completely ridiculous because why didn't we get those when first entering? Not when we were all full and done. Very strange. And they didn't apologize for the food taking forever. I did see the fried pickles was taken off my check though, which was either nice or they forgot to add them on. We come to this place every week. The servers are very sweet. Work really hard but the place is consistently under staffed. Leaving the servers stressed. On multiple occasions the servers will break down over how stressed they are because of the lack of help. The picture posted is the owner of the bar, who sits there and watches the servers while they struggle to meet everyone's needs & drinks his own beer. It isn't the servers that we struggle with but consistently seeing him sit there and not help is what sends me over the edge!! Be better Spauldings. read more

Came here on a whim, as every other restaurant in town, had an hour wait or longer. (It was a Saturday night). We had a group of 15 and they managed to do very well, considering all the different drink and food orders. I had the Philly Cheesesteak which was done perfectly and the waffle fries were better than you'd get at most places, as well. My wife had a burger with a side salad, which she said was very good. Far from family friendly unless you consider two servers duking it out in the parking lot, servers sitting on pool tables making out with regulars. The owners run gas stations, they have no idea how to run a restaurant. They've had some great servers, but didn't treat them well and chased them off. I miss Stooges before it went south. I miss the cozy booths. I miss the big projector screens for watching sports. I miss the bar atmosphere as opposed to the restaurant it is now. I miss the bar itself the way it was. Their hours are awful. Close early every day. Don't go there for drinks after 10:00 pm as they will be dead and refuse to serve you. The food is decent for bar food and the service is very good. But the specials aren't much and if your intention is to hit a bar then go find one. This is a restaurant. Andover needs a sports bar. Weak drinks, typically slow and apathetic service. Only time I'll go is when they have their burger special, otherwise it's badly overpriced for quality of food you get. Unfortunately, they don't have much competition in Andover so we are forced to deal with their mediocre attempt at a bar and grille. So much could change people's perception if their staff performed at basic standard for the service industry. Spaulding's is a family friendly bar and grill located in the building where Stooge's used to be. It is a great addition to the Andover area. The atmosphere makes this place family friendly and also a good place to have a drink and unwind. The food is good and the beer selection is adequate. Good food and service. Burgers are great! I especially love the most burger (mushroom & Swiss). Their waffle fries are awesome. I cannot recommend the chicken strips or fish and chips, they've always been over-fried. They have made a ton of improvements over the former owners. Decent beer selection. We had a terrible experience there when we went for father's day breakfast (it was our first - and last- time there. It was not busy, but we wanted 1 1/2 hours for the food to come out. It tasted terrible! I could not eat mine, and it was not cheap! The steak was rubbery and eggs - burns. Potatoes greasy and caked in a gross layer of cheese. NEVER AGAIN! ! ! Ordered med wings & they were hot hot! My mouth was burning after 3. The heat was in the breading. I did not care for their bleu cheese or ranch dressing. Fries were typical crinkle cut or waffle, which were good. Our waitress was excellent. Entire place, including restrooms, was very clean.
