i came here several times over the course of a week to get some work done. it was never too crazy and i could always find a seat easily. there are outlets along the counter-style seating as well. for food, i got the little date ball thing. it wasn't too sweet (as expected) and was quite tasty. i tried the black and peach iced tea and the tropical green iced tea on different occasions. both were quite bitter, either oversteeped or boiled too hot. i still drank them but was not super pleased. the inside is very cute but is a little drafty on cold VT days. the baristas were friendly. overall, this is a great place to get work done (especially since they stay open later than most coffee shops) but i would probably opt for other options if i want a good cup of iced tea.

Speakeasy Café in Rutland is the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. The interiors are playful and full of character with artsy murals, whimsical sketches, and cozy speakeasy vibes that make the space feel instantly welcoming. The sugar house coffee was a standout. Rich, smooth, and exactly what you want on a cold Vermont morning. We also tried the handmade biscuit, warmed and buttered, and it genuinely felt like a hug in biscuit form. Shoutout to Ethan for being incredibly helpful and thoughtful with recommendations. With his guidance, we built a fantastic sandwich with sourdough, hash browns, avocado, green sauce, and chili crunch. He understood the assignment. Messy, hearty, and delicious. The vegan wrap was also flavorful and satisfying. We left happy, full, and already talking about coming back. Highly recommend Speakeasy Café, especially if you're looking for strong vegetarian and vegan options in Rutland.

Lattes were delicious hot and cold! Sandwiches were HOT and came quickly. Cute little place nestled in the town of rutland. Really enjoyed visiting here.

Great cafe. The coffee is good! My husband loved the apple cider and his bagel sandwich was good too. My sausage and gravy was very yummy. They have some seating outside and it was perfect to eat there with the dog. We were charging our EV down the street at the fast charger. Perfect stop.

Nice breakfast spot in downtown Rutland. Their lattes are on point. My plain bagel was very dry. I would stay away from the plain one. Bake goods are so freshly made! Go get a latte! You will not disappoint and not to mention, people are so great.

We needed a bit more caffeine our first morning in VT, and Yelp led us to this cute cafe. It feels homey, and we were welcomed very brightly despite the overcast day. Their special latte list is really stellar! It was tough to choose what to get. I went for the Morning Blossom, which was nice but a tad bit too sweet for my taste, and my husband got the Buckeye, which was good but could have used more peanut butter. Nonetheless, it was nice chilling out on the leather couch and finishing our drinks. There was a steady stream of customers but a very short wait. I wish I had had more room for food. They have a lot of great-sounding options.

Good food and good hot drinks, but they've messed up our order two out of the three times we've been here. The first time, we didn't notice until we got home (a pastry was missing). The second time, my chai was a coffee and we noticed right away and they made it right, right away. Third time, all was good. Plan to be back and we hope those first two times were flukes.

Great bagels and soups! Friendly staff. I try to make it here at least once every time I'm in the Rutland area.

We unfortunately was looking for lunch sandwiches which they didn't sell. But they kindly directed us down the street to ernies!

The biggest, hottest cup of coffee served in a nice European style 'bowl.' The baked goods are equally fantastic.

We walked past Farmacy's window and one of the chefs gave a friendly wave. We stopped in (had eaten there before) and prepared ourselves for a sure to be delicious meal. They have a fun frequently changing menu of small, medium and large plates so you can choose your own foodie adventure. If you want to sit at the bar you get a great view of the chefs at work preparing your meal. If you want a cozier experience, sit in the comfortable seating in the rear of the restaurant. Our server was very attentive but chill and knowledgeable. We got the Utica greens to share as an appetizer, a cocktail and Mad Max local beer, then a burger with hand cut fries and a chicken stuffed poblano. Dessert was a passion fruit chocolate tart which we took to go. If you're looking for well crafted food with a creative twist, this place is a great choice. North country friendly and approachable with a sophisticated set of offerings. Some really unique cocktails too. Not a boring thing on the menu.

Taylor was one of the best servers we've had in a long time. Everything is made fresh daily, and if you sit at the Chef's Counter, you'll see it first hand. You'll also get great descriptions of everything from the awesome Chefs and maybe get to try something extra too. I recommend using the reservation system on their website and specify your seating preferences. You can choose from the Chef's Counter, the bar, a high-top table, a low table, or an outdoor table (weather permitting). We also appreciated them asking about food allergies on the reservation system too and they verified it when we arrived. We were so impressed with the unique menu options that are offered in the appetizers, small shareable plates, main courses, desserts, and drinks. We are already planning on coming back Sunday for brunch and know we'll be back again soon for dinner.
