The only other old school Foster's that I know of is in Old Town Torrance, California, and it's in worse shape. Too tempting to pass up even at 10:30am. I went up to the window manned by a friendly, informative, young man who said he lived in Westmorland and never tasted a date shake although he pointed out that Foster's did have date shakes a long time ago.  We got Into a conversation when I mentioned to him that this was an original Foster's Freeze. "Yeah, they celebrated its 70th anniversary a few years ago."    I got a chocolate soft serve ice cream cone which was as good as it was 60 years ago in homage to this iconic structure. Took photos and left.   City of Brawley, please give this Foster's Freeze historical status to encourage preservation as you are for the Brawley Theatre nearby. Once destroyed, all these tIme honored buildIngs can never be rebuilt.  4 stars for beIng one of the last original Foster's Freeze still standing.

The perfect end to the night!…read more It was a perfectly hot night in Palm Desert, and this place was heaven sent. The variety of ice creams (both dairy and non-dairy for those who are lactose intolerant like me) and the ability to sample them without pressure was great. The server took care of us, and the outdoor seating was the perfect place to enjoy our cones on a hot summer night. The massive crowds of people there also enjoyed their night as well, as the place was poppin'. The portion size of the scoops, their patience, and the quality of the cones, all together made for a quality night.
