    Classic rock band
    James D.

Not a bad little club. I don't drink, so I couldn't tell you if they have good drinks or not. The band was pretty good though! They were pretty busy on a Friday night, but still could find a seat if needed. There is a smoking patio for the smokers outside in back as well. You might see a bunch of Harley's outside as well. But they aren't your low class biker.

I really wanted to give this place a four star. And to be fair, my wife ordered the tacos and she…read moresaid they were really good. Also, our server was awesome! If I were going off just that, I would give this place a four star, maybe five. First, the restaurant. We went there for lunch and as we pulled into the parking lot we wondered if it was even open as there were no cars there. Nevertheless, we got out and, yes, they were open. As soon as you walk in you notice the place is big and dark. Dark tinted winders, black ceilings and just not very inviting. It was super dark. Giant bar though. We asked to sit outside, although slightly warm, it was better than being inside a dark room. The outside was pretty cool! Giant area capable of holding 2K people, at least that's what the sign said. The shipping containers with the airplane on top were pretty cool. With lots of outdoor games, giant stage, and screens, I can only imagine how busy this place is in the evenings or weekends. But for us, we were the only ones out there when we came. Second the food. As I mentioned my wife ordered the shrimp tacos and she said they were really good. I ordered the Jazz burger. It was just okay. The smashed patties were not season very well, or they were overpowered with the bacon jam. And the bacon on top was not cooked very well. Yes, I do like my bacon crispy so I guess I could have mentioned that. But the bacon was super soft. Not my favorite. So for me, overall the food was just ok. The one thing I found strange about the food was how unaccommodating the kitchen was. I certainly understand when kitchens don't allow substitutes but when I asked for something simple like "no bun" for the burger they apparently gave the server a tough time. So my burger came with a bun. Which isn't a big deal, just don't like to waste food. My wife asked if she could mix match the tacos (most places will allow you to do this especially when they offer more than one type of taco) again the answer was the chef didn't allow for this (chef wasn't even there at the time). Now, is this a huge deal? No, not really. But a restaurant that wants to thrive and be well known usually will accommodate requests within reason. Not sure why this kitchen was so stuck on these things. The one great thing about this place was the service, and specifically the server. He really did do an amazing job even though he might have been the only one there besides whoever was in the kitchen. He was super friendly, checked on us, and even took time to just chat a little bit. He really made this experience as good as it was. What a great server/bartender. All in all, this might be a one and done for me. Off to the next. Cheers.

So I, of course, feeling the need always to explore new cocktail bars or restaurants in my hometown when visiting home, was pretty excited for the opportunity to check out Hush Hush. As a true millennial Gemini, I celebrate my birthday for the whole month, so I quickly texted my family and friends; this is where I wanted to go. What I love about Hush Hush is how it's encouraging and pushing folks to step out of their comfort zone in their attire and dress more to the vibes of this cocktail house (Think Soho, ABA, Casablanca, and Elephante). You're bound to see more desert tones, muted colors, flowy pants, basically anything resort wear. It's cool to see this cocktail house make you feel like you're not in El Paso. The music is different, more loungey, to where you can hear everyone at your table. Of course, there's still a DJ, but damn, Hush Hush is intentionally geared for those who love to go out but need top-shelf cocktails without the eye rolls or the bartenders staring at us with blank eyes. Hush Hush is a true game changer. The lines might get crazy, but I suggest getting there early so you can snag your photos and a solid table/spot. There are three main bar areas, but my fave was the velvet room. I suggest catching a drink on the second floor if you get there early enough to get an eagle eye's view of the establishment. Attention to detail was on point, and I appreciated the homework and research done before the opening of this spot. It's an elevated experience for the city and one I wish every city in the States had tbh.

Had the chance to visit during their soft opening this past weekend with one of my friends who…read moreloves oysters just as much as me, and we both agreed that it is super refreshing to see an establishment like this come to town. Adjacent to the The Tiki Room, Pearl Divers features a rotating list of oysters from different regions at $3 a pop. We had the chance to try all three oysters that they were featuring for the day and we really enjoyed the palette. The oysters featured might've been limited but they had a major punch to them with flavor. My favorite were the ones that were a bit more briny, truly small but mighty. Your oysters are brought out with the traditional crackers, hot sauce, mignonette sauce, horseradish, and lemons. It was nice for them to all folks the chance to order in any quantity as I'm sure a few folks might be trying oysters for the very first time in a landlocked city. The had a finessed menu featuring carpaccio, tartare, and about ten to fifteen dishes encompassing appetizers to main entrees. We had ordered the carpaccio but it never came out (no biggie, again it was soft opening so we came in with an open mind). Since we got there a bit later in the day, they were out of frites and I am a loyal fan of oysters, frites, and bubbles (wine at the minimum). This just means we'll have to be back. What was most important to me though was the service and how friendly the staff was. We opted to sit at the bar (as one should at an Oyster bar) and be as close to the oyster display as possible. I used to live in New Orleans for a few years so sometimes when it's busier and you're chatting away they'll shuck an extra one to you every so often to try. I'm pretty stoked to see the dining scene continuously elevating and Pearl Divers is a nice rendition. I'll be certain to come back and can't wait to see what a five-star experience is out of their soft opening phase. *** If there is one piece of feedback I'd provide is to have smaller spoons for the mignonette and forks for the oysters. The current sizes are a bit too large and can easily ruin the integrity of the oyster when making sure it's been properly separated and not intact, as well as, not being able to have the right ratio of mignonette sauce for each oyster. The spoon was constantly hitting the mouth of the condiment cup.

The mediterranean crudo was so flavorful, my wife and I really loved the scallop and salmon that was a part of the dish. We also thoroughly enjoyed the oyster Rockefeller as well. We would definitely visit again as the price to quality of food level was perfect.

I had no idea it existed until recently. It's a fun and classy speakeasy inside of Tin Man on George Dieter. They keep their location hidden on social media...I guess because it's a speakeasy? I think the concept is cute and fun. I almost felt like I wasn't in El Paso anymore! They have cute Japanese knick knacks and decor. There's only two tables and a small bar area. This is probably why it's hard to get a reservation. You can make a reservation by messaging them on Facebook or Instagram. If they don't get back to you, give them a call at Tin Man. They're open Thursday-Saturday from 7pm to 2 am and Sundays from 2-9 pm. Before Origami Sake Bar, I've only had sake a couple of times straight and...it was super strong. It almost knocked me out of my seat! This is coming from a lady who could drink Tequila like water. Those days are long gone btw. However, this sake bar changed those previous experiences for me. Why? Because they offer a combination of sweet and strong drinks. I had to have a sweet drink so I went with the Grogu. Forgive me, I can't remember what exactly was in it. If you like boba tea, this is the drink for you. It had a lot of boba balls in it. The Yoda stein holds a lot of drink and it stays cold. I was good with just this one drink. FYI: The drinks are not happy hour prices. My tab was $17 and change for one drink. I almost asked for a growler of Sangria from Tin Man instead. I'm not saying the drink was bad because it wasn't. I'm sure I was paying for the novelty of the stein and bar. The place doesn't offer any food. You can eat before or after...or bring your own. It would be cool if they offered Japanese snacks or cheese boards, something. Tin Man doesn't offer food so I guess it's the same here. Thank you for recommending Origami Sake Bar, Jenny L.! Thank you for also inviting me! :) Check it out if you get a chance.

It was a bit difficult to get an RSVP, I messaged them thru their FB page, but they didn't respond so I ended up calling the location which was Tin Man and they got me connected to RSVP. After that they were super responsive and gracious. We ended up having 8 ladies show up but at different times and they were nice enough to let us stay until the next reservation showed up at 10pm. We had a great time, drinks were strong and unique. Only things I would recommend to change are getting a better menu QR, it made you download the menu instead of just showing you, and not mixing the popping boba and regular boba in the drinks as it's a HUGE choking hazard, especially when drinking alcohol. I would definitely recommend this place for a cute night out or date night. They let you bring outside food in and we brought Riva's carne asada fries and nachos.
