I've been shooting for the last 15 years. From the casual aspect, the super duper tactical aspect, and now just the conceal carry aspect. I also use to instruct my self part time back in the day. I couldn't have been more wrong. What I walked away with was knowledge that I'll carry with me for the rest of my life. This wasn't just about getting a CCW. It was about learning how to safely and responsibly carry a firearm, properly draw and holster, understanding how your mind and body react under stress, making good decisions in an emergency, and even learning skills that could potentially save a life and the list goes on! The amount of information and real world experience shared throughout the class was incredible. Something that stood out to me was the range time. The instructors didn't just check a box to make sure you could pass the shooting qualification. They actually took the time to teach. They coached students, corrected mistakes, explained the "why" behind what they were doing, and made sure everyone left becoming a better, safer, and more confident shooter. That meant a lot to me because they genuinely cared that you learned....not that you just passed. After finishing the rounds I brought, I noticed my groupings were down and to the left. Since I had just installed a new optic, I thought it might not be zeroed correctly. On my way out, I decided to ask for some advice. Mike was extremely kind and took the time to ask a few questions to understand the issue. He then gave me about 36 rounds, told me to grab a new target, and said he'd meet me in a lane. Long story short, he spent 10-15 minutes helping to figure out the problem and got me shooting in the right direction ;) at no cost. I didn't expect that at all and couldn't be more grateful for his time. I also met Steven, the owner, who was just as friendly and took time to answer my questions about purchasing specific firearms.
