Send your kid somewhere else. Don't believe a word the director says because she makes promises and gets amnesia when it's actually time to deliver. The director told me told me, I would get a discount based off my employer and actually quoted me what to pay. Then had the audacity to tell me all of the on-time payments I made were late. When we reviewed all of my payments with my credit card statements it was discovered they were all on-time and in the correct amount but she still acted like she was doing me a favor. For the longer story: Our baby boy was due in September 2019, and my husband and I were slacking on getting childcare arranged so we finally started looking at places in October (I know, please don't judge us). We live in Martin County, but we both work in West Palm Beach, so we were looking for something at either end of our commute.We started with Martin County so we would have a short drive to drop BB off in the morning, or if we needed to drop him off but didn't need to go to WPB, but it has almost N O T H I N G worth looking into for an infant. They're either for 12mo+, full, too expensive, or some combination of, up to and including, all three. Village Boulevard KinderCare had been on the radar from the start, as it's about 15 minutes drive from both our workplaces (in good weather, with no traffic, and if the Traffic Light Goddess smiles on you; 20-30 under normal conditions) and though there weren't many Google reviews (and no Yelp reviews at the time), what was there was extremely positive. Hubs and I called the center, and to our delight, it was a direct line in! No IVR-press-1-to-speak-to-another-robot! We made an appointment to come in and take a look around the next day during Universal Nap Time. We brought 3-week-old BB with us, and he charmed everyone (as is only proper for any brand new baby; they're all adorable af). Jhai, the center director, and Angela, the assistant director, were both a joy to meet. They take infant and child health seriously in this place. Since we had a bitty baby, one of us stayed in the foyer area with him while the other was shown all the things in the infant room, and then we switched. Whoever was going in the room had to put on booties to cover their shoes so the floor didn't get dirt and germs from outside tracked in. The teachers in the infant room wear those booties all day long, warm up bottles and food while wearing gloves, and they do diaper changes with gloves and a new cover paper (like at the doctor's office!) for every change. This was standard, even before COVID-19 became a thing. After that, restrictions on entry to areas beyond the foyer were put in place, and then restrictions on entry to the building, plus PPE for staff. Speaking of bottles, they send home bottle labels because they practice safe feeding, and the only one to make the bottles is the baby's parent/guardian. That way, your baby doesn't get someone else's formula or breastmilk by accident. Speaking of breastmilk, those labels are RED instead of white, so it's absolutely clear that there's a difference. We've been bringing our baby here since he was 8 weeks old. He's nearly 7 months old, now, and we still just love bringing him here. When he starts school in a few years, it's up in Martin Co. I'm not looking forward to his last day at VBKC. We've been working from home now for about three weeks because of the pandemic, so BB hasn't seen them since then. They're keeping his spot open and listing us as drop-in until things settle down. I can't express how much that helps us. Though our family isn't in need of daily care, there are a *lot* of essential workers out there who do, and these guys are awesome for supporting them. We can't wait to go back!

She loved her teachers and her classmates. We always got photos and updates at the end of the day, and were very happy with how things were going. When she transitioned to the next class, things went downhill. Off the bat we didn't have the same good feeling about the teachers compared to her last class. It was an overall colder vibe, not as caring. My daughter has ALOT of emotions (terrible two era) so I understand this can take a toll on the teachers. But I didn't appreciate how every day when I picked my daughter up, she seemed like she had been crying for long durations. One day, she came home with marks on her hand. I know one of the teachers has long nails but didn't say anything because it could have come from a child. However, none of the teachers commented on the marks which to me was a red flag (usually we would get an incident report or at least the teacher would tell us what happened). Another time, after picking my daughter up, she kept repeating in the car "stop crying, stop crying." When I asked her who said that, she said teacher. I showed her photos of her teachers and there was clearly one aid who she seemed scared of. After this, I immediately pulled her out (also after seeing a similar review from a student in the same class). When the head of the school met with me after I pulled my daughter, she seemed very protective of her staff and I almost felt like she was trying to tell me I was wrong for pulling my daughter out. However, I am SO thankful I did. We transitioned her to Bluffs School and things have improved significantly. The teachers are all warm and have great energy, I love the director, and the tuition is only slightly more than The Learning Experience! Overall, we're happy we made the move. He came home starving (with untouched food in his backpack), in urine-soaked clothes despite multiple outfit changes packed, and even signed in on days he wasn't there. Staff admitted they hadn't completed training, and the director "lost" medical paperwork we provided on day one. The final straw: I found deep nail marks on his arm, back, chest, and legs in different stages of healing, plus bruising on his ribs. I have proof from bath time the night before and security cameras the morning of drop-off that he had no marks, meaning this happened while in their care. The director dismissed it as a "lanyard," refused to let me file a complaint, and then willfully downplayed and excluded key facts (what marks were there, how many, and who was responsible). In doing so, she was culpable, negligent, and more concerned with protecting herself than protecting children. Later we learned other children had similar injuries, and that teachers were dragging crying kids into bathrooms, shutting the door, and isolating them as punishment. Two teachers were only let go after another staff member resigned and reported it to the health department. The result? My son developed night terrors, became withdrawn, and was referred by our pediatrician to play therapy to recover from the trauma. I don't normally write reviews, but parents deserve the truth: this center is unsafe, almost never in compliance, and still licensed. The director's willful negligence makes her directly responsible for failing the children in her care.
