The event was at my sister's house; Peppers arrived early to set up, which meant we could actually relax and enjoy getting ready instead of stressing and scrambling around! Their crew took over every detail like a team of little magical elves, they even brought complimentary décor that perfectly matched our coastal theme. Even the food displays were works of art, and I'm still kicking myself for not taking photos! And then there was THE FOOD!! Genuinely phenomenal, it tasted even better than it looked. We went with stationary hors d'oeuvre displays and tray-passed appetizers before the main stations, and everyone was (and still is!) raving about it. I honestly can't pick a favorite. She did not apologize or otherwise say much when the mistake was called to her attention. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth., no pun intended.

It seems that all wedding services have a 4X markup and we really needed to stay within a very frugal budget. I called Chef Marty and found him to be very easy to work with and very accommodating and I sent his info to my son immediately. The wedding was beautiful and the guests raved about the delicious food. We had requested a buffet style and Marty and his staff did the serving. Absolutely wonderful. During the mid-20th Century, other newer venues overtook it as the favored place to host events. Thus, it was rented out for professional wrestling matches, roller skating, basketball, dance lessons, 4-H club meetings, etc. Neglect took a serious toll on the health of the Hall, but, when the decision was finally forced to tear it down or to revitalize it, the entire city rallied, raising $5 million to restore the Hall. The Hall is rented out for many purposes, and by many organizations. On this particular Saturday evening, Mechanics Hall was in use by Music Worcester (https://www.musicworcester.org), featuring a performance by Chanticleer. Chanticleer was founded in 1978 and is renowned as "an orchestra of voices" for the seamless blend of its twelve male voices ranging from countertenor to bass and its original interpretations of vocal literature, from Renaissance to jazz, to gospel and new music.
