We cannot recommend Off the Vine Catering highly enough! They truly were the full package for our wedding. Not only did they provide the food and bar, but they also handled most of our rentals including the chairs, tableware, signage, and even set up all of the décor we brought. Everything looked beautiful and was set up exactly how we envisioned it! The tasting is what sold us from the very beginning. Their food was far better than anything else we tried. Even though they were on the higher end of our budget, the team worked with us to create a menu that matched what we wanted while still being affordable. We mostly worked with Anne, who was amazing throughout the entire planning process! She answered every single email so quickly, reached out to other vendors on our behalf, and was so organized that we never felt like we needed a wedding coordinator. On the wedding day, they arrived early and had everything set up before we even got there. They also managed the full room flip, turning the ceremony space into the reception space during cocktail hour, and our guests never even realized it was happening. The staff was kind, attentive, and professional the entire day. Isabelle, our head server, took such great care of us! She made sure we always had food and drinks in hand and that we didn't miss out on anything during cocktail hour or dinner. And the food was every bit as good as it had been at the tasting. We chose buffet style, and everything was fresh, hot, and flavorful. It honestly tasted like it had been made for each guest individually, which is so impressive for a buffet. Even the chicken stayed perfectly juicy! They also served plated salads during the toasts, which was such an excellent idea. For dessert, we skipped the cake and went with their roaming cannoli service. It was such a hit! A chef walked around to each table piping fresh cannolis with toppings for every guest, and people are still talking about how fun and delicious it was! At the end of the night, the team broke everything down and packed up just as efficiently as they had set it up. They took care of everything so that we didn't have to worry about anything. I had attended a birthday party at Orchard Cove and thought the food was fabulous, beautifully presented, and clearly enjoyed by all. I remembered the name and got in touch when I had a very different and much sadder event, with people to feed, and on very short notice. I attended a fundraising event at Misselwood in Beverly tonight. The venue was beautiful. However, the food and service was also incredible! The food was Southern fare and sooo yummy! The food stations were always stocked and clean! The waitstaff was amazing! All of them, and there were plenty were smiling and pleasant and right there to pick up a dirty plate or napkin. The caterer was Off The Vine and ... wow! There were 12 guests and my brother ordered food for 30 or something. We're Sicilian. We have to cook or order that much food! The food was promptly delivered at 11am: Focaccia bread, cold cut antipasto, caesar salad, chicken/ziti/broccoli, chicken parmigiana, and cannoli for dessert. First, I have to tell you, do NOT order the Focaccia bread! If you do, you will eat so much of it that you won't be able to eat anything else! This is the best focaccia I have ever had. I literally could not stop eating it and was mad that I couldn't eat enough of everything else, which was all just as delicious. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with this company. I was in communication with Walter about a small after-elopement celebration. I let him know that I would need a new estimate for a smaller event (from 50 down to 35). I received an email from him at 10:47 AM asking me if we were going to go ahead with the revised proposal; I responded at 11:12 AM in the affirmative. He then emailed me back at 11:53 AM that he'd given away my spot, without further explanation. Based on his emails it seemed likely that a larger, more lucrative event came along. This is the second year we ordered from off the vine for a small birthday party. The staff was pleasant to deal with and we placed the order from ezcater. We ordered a light supper with beef Wellington, finger sandwiches and the chicken kebabs. The food was excellent except for the chicken kebabs. They did not look appetizing and tasted also pretty bland. One order was huge ( I think it said it served 20 and we only had 8 adults with some children). I think the guests did not really like them either because each person ate only one kebab and the rest stayed in our fridge until we threw them all out the next day because no one liked them. Although I must add that the tzatziki sauce it came with was good and made the tasteless kebabs slightly more bearable. read more

It was some of the most creative and downright delectable hors' devours as well as the most delicious dinner we have ever had. I cannot say enough good things about Off the Vine. To start, their staff is spectacular. Amanda, the wedding coordinator, reached out to me immediately to get the ball rolling. She worked with me to ensure the food was within my budget. We even met at the event space twice so that she knew how to set everyone up for the day of the event. She was great about listening to what I wanted and also at advising on different linen, decoration, and setup ideas when needed. We met again two days before the event to go through all of the final details. She also had all of the vendor information so that she could ensure everything was flowing smoothly from their end. She had everything organized and planned and is extremely knowledgeable about wedding coordinating. The day of the event, Amanda arrived first followed by the catering staff. I had sent Amanda a picture of the table arrangements. She brought decorations for the buffet to coordinate with the centerpieces as well as set up all of the tables. With knowing what I wanted, the staff just took charge, asking questions when needed to ensure that everything was set up how we wanted. They also set up all of the cupcakes for dessert. The display was gorgeous. Everything was absolutely beautiful. They did a great job taking the one picture I sent and making everything come to life. The food was also spectacular. In past experiences with other caterers, the food had sometimes been dry or under seasoned. Not with Off the Vine. The food was WONDERFUL! It was as if we had gone out to a nice restaurant. It was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. The guests kept telling us how much they loved it, too. Vicky was the event coordinator. She ensured that everything Amanda and I had discussed was enacted. She also kept us on time and let us know when to make speeches, etc. She got everyone seated and ensured that everyone was taken care of the entire night. Overall we were very pleased with OFV. They were super easy and helpful to work with. We ordered some platters and hot hors d'oeuvres from the "Foods to Go" menu for our annual holiday cocktail party. We had used other catering companies before so guests could "graze" and given the rave reviews decided to give OFV a try. Food arrived on time and the driver was very helpful with setup and even refused a tip! Overall the food was very good. We ordered 3 hot hors d'oeuvres , scallops wrapped in bacon, beef Wellington's and crab cakes. The beef Wellington's were the party favorite and we cleared the platter in no time. The crab cakes however were disappointing. For trays, we ordered the sandwiches, chicken kabobs and antipasto. All were very delicious. I was surprised by the antipasto as I thought it was more a true antipasto platter versus a salad. It was still very tasty but rather difficult for our guests to graze on since it was more of a salad but the portion was large and generous. Also just a comment, some of the serving trays are the black industrial ones so a swap is needed depending on the ambiance of your event. Having ordered trays from other catering companies before, they usually come on a bit more of a nondescript plastic platter versus the black commercial one, so I wasn't expecting this and honestly probably wouldn't order those trays again for this type of event. I would highly recommend the hot apps and would give more of those and the cold ones a try for next time. Overall a nice experience. read more

I live 1/2 hour away from Norwood and when food arrived it was all still piping hot. They thought of everything, including a small bottle of ketchup for those who like that on their eggs. The lasagna was thick as they described, but the pasta was very light. It looked and tasted like home made, and that was both the meat and vegetarian. We had a surprise 65th birthday party for my mother on 12/21. One of my younger sisters found them while doing an internet search and based upon the reviews, we decided to hire them. Service from start to finish was impeccable! Kerri at Vine Street was a gift from God. My sisters wanted to do "finger foods" for the event. I personally thought finger foods for this kind of event was a bit tacky but since the majority ruled, I let it go. Kerri suggested we go with an actual dinner menu and stated we would get more bang for our buck if we went the dinner route and she was right. Everyone LOVED the food! People scarfed down the chicken parmesan and the vegetarian lasagne. One of my aunts stated that if she has to do another event she would definitely use Off the Vine. OTV was on the list of preferred vendors from Audubon. Pearl worked with them to make sure they would be happy with vegetarian choices the bride wanted and meat choices the groom wanted. And the food was delicious! I hired this caterer for the 50th Reunion dinners at Wellesley College, two events averaging 300 people each. The first evening they ran out of food, the line for food was 21/2 hours long. The planning was inadequate:not enough help, food stations, or food. The second dinner also di not have enough help or drink stations, dand the food was dreadful:dry chicken, repeated vegetable ( in two sides) and a dry, tastless biscuit with few strawberries passing as strawberry shortcake.
