!!!!!DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD HERE!!!! I would not recommend Specialized Speech Center to anyone. My son's evaluation was completely inaccurate and filled with careless errors. They even changed his pronouns to she/her and included another child's name in his report. That is unacceptable, unprofessional, and honestly disturbing in a medical/therapy setting. When I called to discharge my son, they suddenly became overly apologetic and tried very hard to convince me to keep him there and let them redo the evaluation. But when I arrived to pick up the discharge paperwork, the person who was supposed to meet with me wasn't even there. There is also zero communication between the front desk staff--one person tells you one thing and a few hours later someone else tells you the complete opposite. It is confusing, frustrating, and shows how poorly the place is managed. Update: After I requested a copy of the evaluation, they called me to apologize and claimed the evaluator was "using a template." While they admitted that this is not excusable, it is still extremely concerning. Using a template should never result in another child's information being placed in my son's report. The only reason I even got an apology is because I asked for the evaluation, which makes me wonder how many other parents have received incorrect or mixed-up information without ever knowing. Parents deserve accuracy, privacy, and real attention to detail--especially when it comes to evaluations that impact our children's care. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here, and I cannot recommend this center to any family. Update: Hi, I've read your message. The errors in my son's evaluation were unacceptable, and your explanation doesn't change that. The report was careless, inaccurate, and only corrected because I caught the mistakes -- not because your team was competent enough to notice them. Also, mentioning how long someone was "on the phone" with me doesn't impress me when it was two minutes. Time spent fixing your own mistakes isn't something to highlight -- it's the bare minimum. Your list of "steps" feels like damage control, not accountability. The trust is gone, and nothing you've said restores it. I will not be continuing services with your center. read more

For years, I neglected my speech issues, choosing to ignore my struggles instead of working on improving my deficiencies. I was intimidated by the possibility of struggling and never improving... but I was so wrong. Specialized Speech Center has been the light I have been looking for, especially Olivia. I have been doing myofunctional therapy with Olivia and it has been nothing short of the most ideal experience. My only regret is not starting sooner. Olivia is so knowledgeable and personable. She takes the time to explain the "why" behind all of the exercises I perform and she tailors them to my personality, which helps me stay engaged. There has not been a question I have had which she did not know the answer to. I can tell she really cares about me and my improvements, which makes me excited to go to therapy. That also goes for the other employees in the office.
