Zoro Muffler Mississauga (stanfield) Went from good to bad over the years…read more I've taken various cars (4 or 5) I've owned throughout the years to this Zoro Muffler for exhaust related repairs, dating back to the mid 2000's, after being referred to them by my brother who also brought his cars there since the early 2000s. I kept going back because I used to live in that area, the service was fast, reliable and either decent priced or amazingly priced. Even around 2019, they only charged me around $80 for a repair; that was an outlier price/repair, but it solidified in my mind to think of them for any/all exhaust work in the future. All other visits in my past were much higher priced but understandably so, given the repairs needed. However, the past 2 times I've been there in 2025 and 2026 with the same car (different exhaust issues) was different. In 2025 it was over priced; I accepted it because I still trusted them and I had driven 100+ km (I had moved out of the city) to bring my car there to make sure it was done right, which it was (so far - its only May 2026 now), but it was expensive. 2026: They said I needed a new front pipe (exhaust leak in the engine bay) and that it would cost ~$1300 with parts, labor, taxes (yet would be done within the hour...). Had him show me where it was leaking and then vehicle model came into question, as he said the pipe looks different than the one needed in the quote, (so how did he know it would be $1300?) so after vehicle model trim confirmed, he requoted ~$750 after PARTS (pipe), labor and taxes, and will be done in an hour. I asked what the difference was from the $1300 quote and he said he quoted $1500 (?? I had already messaged someone about the $1300 price immediately after being quoted.) and its due to a different part. It seems like they can just make up any price they want. You can't see their computer screen behind/under the desk you stand in front of, and you don't get any breakdown/work order until you get the invoice. I said ok to the new $750 quote, they "fixed it" and I paid and left; no exhaust leak anymore. 3 weeks later I swap my wheels from winter to summer tires and look under the car & hood, same old rusted pipe we stared at under their hoist - all they did was put a new nut and a few washers on one of the the front pipe bolts and then flux core welded part of the flange to the same rusted flange - FLEECED! I could've done this myself if it weren't for the cold weather. Service is neutral - they're not mean, not rude. But it feels like they are riding on their past reputation and fleecing people now, especially after hearing all the prices of other customers while in the waiting room. The difference in actual cost/price vs what I was ripped off is not worth my time calling, debating and bringing my car back 100km (200km total) and explaining it to them again, for them to potentially sabotage something or charge me more. I can go somewhere closer to home and potentially get better pricing or risk of getting ripped off just the same. Never going back there again. They have endless suckers in Mississauga to famoose so they won't miss my business at all. If money is just a rounding error for you and you simply NEED your exhaust fixed fast, by all means, bend over there because they can fix you up real fast, but know that there is no Mr Lube next door.

Visited this mechanic for the second time for the same issue (horn not always working)…read more First, I take back my assessment that Jimmy is "mechanic's mechanic". He was friendly with me on my first visit, but was rather cold on the second. When I said that I want to disconnect a theft-protection sensor under the hood (a common practice for Mazdas of this generation), he explained to me that it is not easy to do and told me to go home and do it in my spare time. - Well, why would I drive there in the first place if I wanted to do the dirty jobs myself? I said I also want to check the transmission mount, but he interjected that the next customer was already waiting for him. He didn't follow up if I wanted to schedule another appointment. Second, the wait times and punctuality. Both times I visited him I arrived on time. Both times I had to wait while he was busy with something else or taking calls. And that's another thing: he doesn't have a secretary, so he has to take calls which sometimes last 15 minutes. On my second visit the job (replacing the horn) took him about 15 minutes. Another 55 minutes were spent with me waiting while he was in his "office". Third, the sneaky pricing. On my first visit he told me the labor would be 70 CAD, on the second visit it was suddenly 75 CAD. And that's in addition to the 60 CAD diagnostic charge for this trivial problem after my first visit. All in all, I paid 152 CAD for labor alone for replacing a faulty car horn. Not too bad, actually, in Toronto prices. But, unfortunately, I will not be coming back with the rest of the issues my car has accumulated over the years.

They tensioned the belts and left it. No parts were ordered. I got mad over wasted time (didn't say anything out of line). i called later to get in to book it. I was told there was a power outage for 1 week. I was told i would be first in line monday when power was restored. Monday morning im on the lot waiting 838-9am. 2 other people are standing at the door. By the time they take my keys its 915-920. i left but later i was told i was third. Mechanic max tensioned the belt and did not order parts. The instruction was to fix the issue. I was told it needed parts and at this point none were ordered. So once again i went and got car. I was extremely mad picking up the car as i mainly use it to pick up my daughter out of town. They seemed to not care. Wasted my time and im supposed to smile. they dont care what i lost waiting for them. No will to make it right or meet in middle.. no processing they did anything wrong. I gave it sometime and took car once again in attempt to keep relationship going and 3 days later i get a call they are refusing service. They didnt like that i got mad with the secretary. i have been sending emails to reach out the boss there before the last time i took my car there. The mechanics read them half ass and they are ignored the boss. upon arriving to pick up my car the boss comes out all nice "how can i help you" u can see his face change when i say who I am. He refuses to tell me what i said that was wrong. The secretary is native (as am i) i have no issues with her. Im blow away as me and her was never on bad terms. Of course i was upset i wasted time and money. the secretary is not even working so i cant even figure the issue Out. I made this review because the treatment i got was BS. going there for years. All of a sudden they start burning me and when i got mad over it im refused service. KNOWING WHAT I KNOW NOW.. I WOULD NEVER GO THERE. They were good when they wanted to be. But when they turned on me for nothing... making me wait and wait.. telling me there busy. I understand a week of no power. I dont get how they just fall off the proper service tread (quality aside). He talked me through the symptoms of my truck and told me the likely problem and the much lower cost. When I dropped my truck off he took me into the shop and showed me a comparable engine and showed me what sort of issue that my truck was having so that I could understand first hand what needed to be done. I always appreciate this sort of thing for my own edification and future awareness. Tony reached out to me throughout the job to update me on the situation and advise me of any new costs that might come up. He also ended up putting in a new timing belt for very little cost to me which I had been quoted at other shops for $1K - 1.5K so that was greatly appreciated. When dealing with Tony you know you can trust him and that you won't be paying any more than you have to. Engine issues always suck but he made it tolerable. Highly recommend.

The owner looked at the damaged pipe, and gave me a quote on the spot. I agreed, and then they worked on my exhaust system ASAP! Upon putting on the exhaust tips, the owner asked how I liked the angle to be adjusted. Perfect example of customer service right there! Great way to allow customers to choose what they like best and what suits them. They refuse to refund me my close to $300 because they want to test the part. Im sorry but I live over 7 hours away from this location and I have to pay for the shopping back to them plus have them test it without my money back even though I have proof from a mechanic it is the part bought from them that is defective and that same person is just speaking about how they have never had a defective part before and they need to see it to believe it. I shipped the part back to them received confirmation it arrived there and this same person is now stating that they never got it and I have to deal with the shipping company and they can not provide me my money back. This has been ongoing since August.
