I got a custom cat back exhaust on my car roughly a year ago, they used stainless steel according to my invoice and their words , a year went by and I already have to repair the the "bad job " they did , the tips are so badly rusted and around the bends is leaking , i wonder how's that possible for " Stainless steel "? Also my work van , they installed a new muffler a few months ago and already has been repaired too , muffler tip just broke up , badly welded ! For everyone that is looking for proper work to be done by professionals done at a fair price , do not go here , go somewhere else and get the job done Properly . My entire exhaust pipe, from my muffler back to my catalytic converter, was missing. The screw things (flanges?) had rusted at both ends as well! I couldn't afford a whole new exhaust system, at $1,500! Hot Rod Scott was able to replace the portion of the pipe that was missing, and weld it at either end directly, without having to replace the flanges (assuming that's the correct term!) For $300....score! The price was great and it should last me 5 years, since I don't drive that much. They were very quick too. Less than an hour! They also do custom and performance muffler systems, and a lot of repair shops send clients here for exhaust and muffler work! I highly recommend these guys! Thanks for saving me $1,200! Took the Acura in for a muffler repair. Thought this was a good shop. Installed a noisy muffler. I picked the aftermarket one, my fault, but I did not know it would be so noisy. Within a year, noise got stronger, returned to the shop. Paid more money. Still noisy. Wife is pissed. Good that they are gone from the neighborhood. Totally overrated. read more

Tried to upsell me on things I didn't need, as if I was stupid. Gave me attitude when I told them I did not want to invest in what they were trying to upsell me as I am parting with my vehicle in the spring anyways and it doesn't really need it. To which one of the mechanics replied in a douchey tone "Thats what everyone says." To which I might add he was rude from the start and seemed like my being there was inconveniencing him having to do work. Quoted 180+ for a flex pipe repair. I've done this repair myself in the past for $30 bought the part at PartSource. Took me 15-20 minutes on my previous car (same make and model in fact) Stay away from these guys. Seriously. They might have been around for a long time, but thats by preying on people who do not know any better. (The more power to them as people who chose to not be informed make the world go around it seems lol.) Shop around before you go there. Don't get swindled. There was a dragging sound coming from the underside of my car. I to it to one of those muffler shops that said the emission control gismo was broken -it would cost $350 for the part only. I walked away. Someone I trusted recommended Hot Rod Scott's. I took in my car yesterday, they got the car up and checked out the entire exhaust/emission control system. They checked out everything and found system to be in good order. He did find a that something that was used as a fastener was left dangling - that was the source of the dragging sound. They could have told me something had to be replaced. Instead, the technician clipped dangling fastener and sent me away - NO CHARGE. In my opinion, this kind of integrity has to be made public.
