Excellent practice. Receive excellent care and find all staff from front desk to the specialists incredible.

The doctors at Specialty Orthopedics are outstanding. They are knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely take the time to listen. The medical care I've received has always been excellent, and the physicians are the only reason I continue coming to this practice. Unfortunately, the front office has been one of the worst experiences I've had with any medical practice. My interactions with the office staff have been consistently frustrating and, at times, upsetting. They often come across as rude, dismissive, and combative, making patients feel like they are a nuisance simply for calling the office. On one occasion, a staff member answered the phone by saying, "What do you want?" in an abrasive tone, which was completely unprofessional. Michelle, in particular, has repeatedly been difficult to work with and has come across as unkind and unwilling to help. Phone calls frequently go unanswered or are never returned, appointments have been scheduled incorrectly, and I've received conflicting information from the office on multiple occasions. Instead of helping resolve issues, interactions often create more confusion and unnecessary stress. It's incredibly disappointing because the physicians provide exceptional care, but the front office experience consistently falls far below that standard. I sincerely hope the practice addresses these concerns, as patients deserve to be treated with courtesy, respect, and professionalism from the moment they contact the office. read more

This office has the worst wait times in Westchester, always overbooked and overworked staff. Why book so many appointments if you can't handle the volume? It's a horribly long waiting experience every time, and when most patients are elderly and in terrible pain, you should try to do better. I am looking for better orthopedic care in Westchester but this seems to be the default. read more

The Physicians at this practice are amazing. I most recently had hip replacement surgery and I am a new woman. The practice functions as medicine used to be and not like it is now, I am grateful for their help. read more

It's a shame that the doctors are so great, because you will wait a very long time for each appointment. They say it's because the doctors take time with parents, which is good, but make sure you have 2 hours blocked. Not kidding. read more

The office staff is thoroughly incompetent. After making me wait for ALMOST A MONTH for an appointment, spending almost 45 minutes going over my insurance plan, making sure they accepted it, I finally come in to have a CRIPPLING INJURY WHICH IS WORK PROHIBITIVE, and the nurse, RUDELY, tells me, "Oh, we don't take that insurance!" I don't care how talented a doctor is if you can't see them because they don't know how to hire someone who can perform their job. read more

Broke my foot in November and it's been a real bummer but coming in for visits in this office with Dr.Littlejohn and his staff has been a real blessing! The women who assist in the rooms are super personable and loads of fun. They make an otherwise uncomfortable visit very fun and I appreciate that soo much! So disappointed. Dr. James McWilliam sold me an $81. flat carbon insert for my left foot to alleviate arthritis pain. This insert within 2 days caused extreme pain to my right knee because of the natural adjustment my body made to the insert in the left shoe. He and Kay (note the first review is written by Kay, an employee! How many other reviews are written by employees???) refused to issue a refund. Is it malpractice to provide medical advice when you don't understand the linkage between bones and muscles and arthritis?? He should've immediately referred me to somebody who does instead of messing up my body! read more

Dr. McWilliam was awesome. After seeing several orthopedic surgeons who didn't want to operate on me (due to my age), I found Dr. McWilliam. He fully repaired my ankle (which had chronic sprains; every 3-4 weeks, a new sprain! Oh boy!) whereas other doctors suggested physical therapy alone, which I had done 4 times with no improvement. Dr. McWilliam has excellent bedside manner and was willing to actually listen to my concerns, regardless of my age, and also fully and frankly explained what was wrong/what complications I could expect with various treatment options. Ultimately, I opted for surgical repair, and he did an excellent job. His office staff are fantastic and caring, and the entire team took care of me while I was healing. Overall, I would DEFINITELY recommend Dr. McWilliam if you want a thorough, no nonsense physician to treat you. read more

I only have wonderful things to say about this Doctor. He is highly skilled and good at what he does. He took care of my needs like he would to someone he loves. He did not kick me out of the room after 30 seconds like most of the other Dr's I seen at big hospitals in NYC. He was very dedicated in finding a solution to help me since I had some complications from a previous surgery. No other doctor showed me this type of care and bedside manner. I went to see Dr. Valdet Nikci after previously seeing my primary care physician in the same building. I felt comfortable going to this office because my mother's Orthopaedic Surgeon is also in the office. I was a walk in on the day Hurricane/Tropical Storm Isaias was going to hit New York. I had been in excruciating pain in my neck, shoulder, and upper back for a few days. Earlier that day I had gone to urgent care. Dr. Nikci did an X-ray and found nothing on the X-ray. He moved my arm around and told me that he didn't see any broken bones on the X-ray and told me that he didn't understand why i was crying so much with no broken bones. First off, I walked in crying and he had no empathy nor sympathy for my condition. Both myself and my husband felt that he was just dismissing me because he wanted to get home before the Hurricane hit. I have since gone to a different Orthopedic Surgeon and expressed how I felt seeing this doctor and they took the proper steps for my care. Does the Hippocratic Oath mean nothing. The staff was very nice and I cannot speak on the other doctors in this practice, but DO NOT GO SEE Dr. Valdet Nikci. He won't give a rats a*** about you if there is something else going on and he's trying to go home. I went to another doctor and had an X-ray done. Nothing showed up, but my doctor took the next steps in ordering 2 MRIs after doing a more thorough evaluation of my situation. I really wanted to tell Dr. Nikci that obviously something is wrong if I'm crying. read more

From the first moment I walked in I was treated so well. First I was treated by Dr. Yasmin Dhar. She absolutely helped me with my rheumatoid arthritic knees. Dr. Insel helped me with my elbows. Their treatments relieved my extreme pain. They listen and they care. I would give them 10 stars if I could! read more

This is possibly an 8th or 9th visit. I have always booked a 9 am appointment. They open at nine. Despite my always being early and often first to the office, I have always waited, mostly 15-20 minutes and twice 30-40. The exam rooms are not sound proof. I always hear the full conversation in the next. So much for confidentiality. Quality of doctor is meh. Nothing special. The billing staff is good and they have onsite X-ray so two stars over one. read more

I was told that my best option would be amputation for infection and deformity from complications of diabetes. Dr McWilliam explained an option that allowed my to save my leg. The recovery took a long time but now I have a functional foot. His office staff was very professional and caring during this long and difficult process. read more

I just came back from "not seeing" Dr. James McWilliam, MD. This was a 6 week follow up for an orthopedic issue involving my foot. I left the office after waiting 1 and 1/2 hours and not having been seen. I was told that the doctor was going on vacation so there were a lot of patients to be seen. I had asked when I first got there how long a wait and was told he was "a little behind". Then when I was finally put in an exam room the nurse said he would be right in. After another 20 minute wait I left. I am a registered nurse with great respect for physicians but treatment like this is despicable. This is a private office, not a hospital clinic. It would have been nice to have been given a choice of waiting almost 2 hours or rescheduling. I got my initial x-rays and left. I don't care what Westchester Magazine says...they aren't the only orthopedists in town. I always research my doctors, see where they went to medical school etc. I will find another highly qualified practice that treats patients with more dignity. read more
