The PT at HSS treats you individually for 30 minutes and is prompt and on time. At ONS My appt was 10:30 and I didn't see the PT for 20 minutes and I just sat there with a hot towel around my ankle. I kept asking where the PT was and they said she would be over shortly. She spent 10 minutes with me and gave me off to her assistant. When I asked what was the 4th exercise I did on my initial visit she said I have 24 patients and I don't know. I canceled all my other appointments and I'll return to HSS where I can get all my care by a PT. I know this is owned by a venture capitalist and the care is not great and rushed. I suggest you use HSS PT and not here!!!!

Unfortunately, the front office has been one of the worst experiences I've had with any medical practice. My interactions with the office staff have been consistently frustrating and, at times, upsetting. They often come across as rude, dismissive, and combative, making patients feel like they are a nuisance simply for calling the office. On one occasion, a staff member answered the phone by saying, "What do you want?" in an abrasive tone, which was completely unprofessional. Michelle, in particular, has repeatedly been difficult to work with and has come across as unkind and unwilling to help. Phone calls frequently go unanswered or are never returned, appointments have been scheduled incorrectly, and I've received conflicting information from the office on multiple occasions. Instead of helping resolve issues, interactions often create more confusion and unnecessary stress. It's incredibly disappointing because the physicians provide exceptional care, but the front office experience consistently falls far below that standard. I sincerely hope the practice addresses these concerns, as patients deserve to be treated with courtesy, respect, and professionalism from the moment they contact the office.

I had a transverse fracture of the 4th metacarpal bone in my right hand and went to an ER late on a…read moreMonday night. Tuesday afternoon I saw Dr Elia, and 2 days later he operated on it at an outpatient facility, inserting a titanium plate and 4 screws to realign the bone and gave me a splint to keep it in place. I had a several follow-up appointments in which he x-rayed my hand and looked at the progress of the healing. After about 5 weeks I didn't need the splint and started occupational therapy to regain range of motion and strength in the hand. It took about 5-6 weeks of OT to regain full RoM. Dr. Elia did an excellent job. My hand has healed really well, and the scarring is minimal. I don't feel the plate in my hand. Another doctor who I saw for a different issue examined my knuckles and flexibility of the hand and said it looked great, he was surprised that the doc who did it was not a hand specialist. The occupational therapist I worked with and a dermatologist both said my scarring was less than they have seen in other patients with different surgeons. Furthermore, Dr. Elia answered my questions directly, accurately, and frankly, whether they were about treatment options, how many times a year he typically did procedures like this or what the expected recovery time would be.

The doctor created stress and concern from the doubts behind what they thought the problems were. I was not even evaluated, and my appointment lasted less than 15 minutes. After being rushed into receiving an mri, it seemed to be my problem after waiting a week for its authorization according to the doctor. My new orthopedist told me everything in my MRI was standard, and non surgical treatment was required. HBVJ told me I would need surgery after a ten minute visit, and then tried doubling down on it after seeing the results of the mri. I understand there are difference in opinions amongst doctors. My frustration is how the doctor went about handling my situation. It seemed the doctor acted vindictive once questions began to be asked, and came off as unprofessional. What triggered me to do this is simple, I arrived at the Doctors appointment 25 minuted late, it was out of my control. I waited almost a month to get this appointment and I was turned away directly by Dr. Daniel Markowitz. I had been calling every week in pain trying to get a closer date to see Dr. Markowitz. I had been to White Plains Physician Associates numerous times, for different body part issues and I always had to wait 30-45 minutes to see the Dr. When you visit a Dr. office you are never seen on time but you must always wait your turn regardless of how late the Dr. is running. When you are late they should also consider that, you are not there for fun you are there because there is a problem with your health. I left very upset but composed, I demanded all my medical records and history, now I will start looking for another team of Orthopedic Doctors to take care of my health. I will NEVER go back to WP Hospital Physician Associates because of their lack of caring, their lack of consideration and in fact I recommend that Doctors like Daniel Markowitz be sanctioned by the Medical Association. My daughter will be Doctor next year, I can guarantee you that she will never turn a patient in pain away. Doctor should be held at a higher standard because lives depend on them.
