While this is mainly an RV resort with long term tenants with permanent trailer living residents, it is a good place to stay for a weekend. There's not much around as far as restaurants and such but within a short driving distance you have Harrahs casino, hiking and water activities. Campsite overall was clean and people were respectful and quite during quite hours. We enjoyed our time and would definitely consider staying here again if we're in the area to do some hiking and sightseeing.

One of the best places we have ever camped!…read more We had a large concrete pad large enough for our fifth wheel and patio space beside it. It was equipped with a very nice fire pit and a large stack of firewood included in the price. One staff member led us to our site in a golf cart, and another was already there to guide me while backing in. I have never before had this level of parking assistance! One of our slides jammed when we tried to extend it. The owner and two or three of his staff spent at least an hour trying to help us. We didn't have any luck, but the staff recommended a local mobile RV repair guy who was on site in about an hour and solved the problem. The park's cable TV service is head and shoulders above anything else we have ever seen. The area is full of natural beauty, and there are many places to get delicious food within a five to ten minute drive. Need groceries? Publix, Ingles, and Food Lion are just 15 minutes away, and Walmart about 20 minutes. Cross Creek RV Park is a great example of Western North Carolina hospitality at it's finest!

They have gorgeous spots right on the river and I could hear the river as I slept and it was so soothing!! The owners are wonderful people and really want campers to enjoy every aspect of their stay. They came out when we came in to help us back camper in our spot. It's very close to town like 5 min drive but felt out in country. Our spot had a picnic table and fire pit. They have a pretty good size bath house with vending machines and at as use washers and dryers which would be good for long stays! Shower stalls were individual bathrooms for privacy .. updated and very clean. We came before Halloween and it had decor for the holiday.. you could stay in camper, they had cabins, and tepees for unique stay. Most were damaged by storm but will be ready for following year. I thought that was really interesting.. i read reviews from previous years about wifi being terrible but we didn't have that issue. We didn't really spend all day at campground we came to see and spend time in the area so we were only using wifi at night and in morning with coffee. I would highly recommend this campground.. it was a great stay and I hated to leave.

I usually try to stay in "affiliated" campgrounds whenever possible because they have to maintain a certain level of professionalism and caring for their service. Other times I go on line and try to get reservations in places that show up well in their web sites. This is not always satisfying, as there are many web sites that are much nicer than their actual grounds. This has happened to me a few times as I'm sure it has happened to you if you spend any amount of time traveling, I can say without fear of contradiction that this campground is a "diamond in the rough." It is in a pretty spot and managed by a fellow who absolutely goes out of his way to ensure that this campground and the folks who stay here are more than happy that they came here. Rick is the manager and he is nothing short of OUTSTANDING in the way he does his job. To be perfectly honest, there are not enough stars for me to light up when it comes to rating this campground.
