Not only have I had issues with phone service and internet, I recently moved and had my service transferred but they screwed up my address and went to a different one 2X.! And charged me extra for a service I didn't ask for, I was without internet/tv for a week. then I find out they charged me a transfer fee of 100 which they lacked to inform me of then also forgot to mention my automatic payments cease once transfer has started so I end up with late fees..Why in the word would they charge a transfer fee to loyal customers in the first place?!!! A lot of the reviews here are for the internet company and not this particular location itself - which to my knowledge serves as a place to return your rented equipment. Unless these people are physically driving up here to get customer service instead of calling Charter directly, it bothers me that Yelp reviews do not reflect the correct experience. For example, if someone was to write that the Apple Store sucks because Apple cancelled AirPower, it does me no good because I'm looking to Yelp to see if that Apple Store experience - long lines for example - is good or not. AirPower cancellation has nothing to do with the store experience like how having your channels or internet not work has nothing to do with the equipment return experience here. Nothing has improved - I blame it on the fact that Spectrum is beta-testing their new hardware and software on customers who are paying full price for substandard equipment. DVR sometimes records programs, sometimes not. When it does, it often does not stop when the program is over and will record 20, 30, 40 hours or more for one program which fills the DVR quickly. DEFECT! There are two menus both for the DVR and the guide and you can only get to the failover menus if the primary menus fail. The problem is that sometimes recorded programs aren't showing on the primary menu and they are still showing on the secondary menu - AND THERE'S NO WAY TO GET TO THE secondary menu when you need to. You have to hope that the primary menu fails - imagine that! CHARTER SPECTRUM SHOULD NEVER HAVE RELEASED THEIR DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT TO THE PUBLIC AT FULL PRICE! read more

I ordered Spectrum because I was told I would get 100 to 200 Mbps speeds for streaming. That is misleading, sure I get it but it splits out among various devices depending on what you have connected to ethernet and Wi-Fi. The more connected the lower the speeds. That's because the modem is sending out the full speeds. But the router only has 1 antenna so it has to split the signals to the various devices. If you want to get a strong signal DON'T use THEIR ROUTER. GO BUY one yourself, with at least 3 antennas and coverage wide enough to cover your entire home. read more

It is astounding how difficult the cable industry makes it for their customers. My elderly mother needs to reduce her cable/internet/phone expense. After 30+ minutes on the phone with "Ellie", he promised a $40 reduction in the coming month. The new bill arrived without the promised pricing. Another an hour and a half on the phone still no resolution. One of the customer service reps actually argued that my mother should be satisfied with the existing package and would not explain why they would not honor their promise to reduce the bill by $40. When I asked to speak to another agent, he refused to transfer me. I finally hung up and spoke to three more people who were much kinder but equally ineffective. After getting the box, I headed to the car and noticed they forgot to give me a remote control for the dvr. I went back in and grabbed it without an apology or anything. I get home and hook it up and I can't wrap my head around what else was missing until I try to press the power button. That's when I noticed they didn't give me a power cord. Seriously? ! Since September 6 when Spectrum cable had their own outage we have had no cable. We have called countless times and were told they could not climb the pole because of tree limbs in the way and it was dangerous. We were told Oncor ownsthe pole and they would to do the trimming but Spectrum rents space on the pole and they will have to pay for the trimming job. Back-and-forth back-and-forth. OK we'll do it, no we don't do it, well they'll do that, no they don't do that-back and forth. So we went to the City of Arlington and got the plans for our lot and it showed a 7 1/2 foot utility easement behind our house and that's the reason our backyard fence has to take a big zigzag. So the trees behind our property are not ours. They either belong to the city or the utility company because it's their easement. Nobody will help us we are being bullied into cutting the trees are self which is gonna cost $800-$1000. I went on the site locally in my neighborhood called NEXTDOOR and a very lovely lady gave me information on who to contact. We emailed Tammy Dubbeke at State Representative Chris Turner's ofc. at NNO. SO to those that helped us through our emails ... 'If you were at all responsible for the Spectrum supervisor coming out today, I thank you a thousand times over. Supervisor Greg Allen and technician Nate came out and climbed the pole without any problem and ran a new line from the pole to my house. Instant cable. Their fix was so good it even woke up one of our old cable boxes that was frozen. Also a spike in billing today but they are going to give me credit for the days the cable was off. It is a good day!' This is a sorry company, and I don't know if it's still Time Warner Spectrum or fully integrated into Charter. On moving back to Arlington last year my only choice for true high speed Internet was Spectrum. I reluctantly signed on for 100 Mbps service at a good price of $50/month. No phone or TV as their services stink. Service performed great except for daily interruptions no lasting 30 seconds to 30 minutes. Got a notice from them my promo rate was over same time got notice ATT fiber was now available, so I moved to 1000 Mbps down for same price of $70. Returned my equipment March 31 cancelling the account and paying my balance. Got first collections call 4/30, then 5/15, and again today. Says press 1 to pay. One has to call back to navigate through a cantankerous phone menu to finally get a human. Each time they blame an "open work order". Say they close it and you won't get more calls. Yet I still do. Supposedly today it was fixed. How many folks think they owe the money and pay it ? This is a racket. They can make a fortune on the float before they refund any money.
