Stopped at the Spectrum store in Bowling Green to return a piece of equipment last week. Though the hours were listed online when we arrived there was a note on the door saying not open til later due to staff shortages. We decided to wait for a bit since it was out of town for us. After a bit I was able to go in and sign in for assistance. The young lady that helped me out was very kind and courteous and took care of the return quite nicely. If you think that spectrum is your only option, look on the FCC broadband map to find other providers in your area. Specifically in Bowling Green, OH. I would look into buckeye broadband instead. If they have fiber internet available for your address on the map, you CAN get it. I got their symmetrical 1gig unlimited plan on a discount, but the regular price for that plan is $105/month, which is almost the same price as spectrum for a better plan. The reviews for them are mostly for their older services. Fiber internet doesn't have the kind of problems they had, and I have yet to have a single blackout of service or slowing speeds. With spectrum, I had service outages at least monthly. If I'm paying $100 a month for a service, I expect that service 100% of the time. My speeds were also sometimes comparatively very slow. On my 1gig plan, I had times where it was down to 600mb/s That's still plenty fast for what I do, but if I wanted that speed, I would pay less for it. Spectrum's pricing is also very odd. $100/month for 1gig cable internet is at best an OK price. When compared to fiber, it's absolute garbage, but for cable it's fine. Where they make no sense is their TV packages. When I moved, the employee on the line told me that their TV package would be free for the first month, and then $10/month after that. It was $100/month additionally added to my bill on the first month. If I wanted to spend $100/month on TV, I could just get every major streaming service. Even then, I'd still have to take ~$20 and burn it just to meet that price. When I finally got on the phone to get them to remove the service, My internet price jumped up $40/month from where it was before I moved. When I went to cancel my services, the employee blatantly lied to me about the speeds provided by a competitor in my area, and took 30 minutes trying to get me to keep the service. You would think that after I told them multiple times that I wasn't interested in keeping the service and that I already had the other internet service installed, they might realize that they weren't getting anywhere, but I guess they don't teach them to use common sense. The one saving grace is that their in-store employees at Bowling Green were nice the few times I went in. I would recommend you go into the store instead of getting on a call. The people spectrum hires to answer the phone aren't from the area, and half the time you can't understand what they're saying. Been a customer for 20 years due to lack of choice and have hated every second, high prices, bad service, horrible company. Now that we have fiber options in BG, I'm switching to get WAY faster service for WAY cheaper. I called to cancel, it took me 50 minutes to talk to somebody and then the guy berated me for literally 20 minutes trying to talk me out of cancelling. When I told him there was no way I was staying with them, he put me on hold for 8 minutes then hung up. My life's mission is to get every single person I can to leave Spectrum. We've been trapped with Spectrum at our home in Waterville, OH going on 7 years now, and by trapped I mean there's sadly no decent alternative besides Buckeye Cable which is just as bad. Spectrum has zero respect or appreciation for their long-term customers, or any customers really. We've had so many $5/month price increases in our 7 years with them that we are literally paying double what we started with. Just internet too. They justified it by saying 'well we increased your speed!' Thanks, but I didn't ask you to. I was content with $45/mo for 200 mbps. Now I'm paying double that for barely double the speed - which I neither need nor want. So they force speed increases on you, thus force price increases. "Why not just switch to their slower speed then?" you ask? Get this- they got rid of it in my area! So it's not even an option anymore! I would happily pay half what I'm paying now for half the speed they raised it to. Heck, it doesn't even work at half of that speed most of the time anyway!! Which brings me to my final issue - the connection itself. When it works, which should be all of the time for the price, it's OK I guess. It's rarely the speed you're paying for. But it's never working right 100% of the time. Or even 75% of the time. If there was a bolt of lightning 2 towns away or a gust of wind, you can expect connection interruptions. My brother is paying $10 more a month for 1gb fiber from a different company - out in the freakin' country. Consistent speed, price, and no interruptions. Although it took a long time to get through to a rep the one we had was fantastic and her name is Josie Maldonado. She fixed the issue with my phone and improved it by deleting apps I never used or needed. Certainly, one of the best reps they have and she's very conscientious about helping people and their phone issues. read more

I am going to be one of those few people who have good things to say about Spectrum service! My Internet was down. They came out promptly. It's been raining for days. They put covers over their boots and kept my home clean. They were respectful. It took a while but they found the problem. I have been having a couple of different problems. They addressed both and ended up replacing my modem and replacing cable ends to make sure I don't continue having problems. I really appreciate what they did, the time they took and the quiet politeness. They aren't cheap. But, to top it off, it didn't cost me a dime! Yes, I'm happy and I want to show it. read more

Zero stars if possible. It took over an hour on the phone to attempt to cancel cable. The next day, I realized Spectrum still did not end it correctly which required a visit to the store. With only 2 people working I literally waited over an hour to correct problem and return equipment. read more

Now Spectrum Cable in BG. I came to this storefront to pick up upgraded cable boxes and a new modem/router. Stood in line just a few minutes. Moved to a spot at the head of the line and ran into Tony as my agent. At first, it seemed like I was being treated like just another customer, but when I made a little joke to him, his helpfulness burst forth. Tony offered me more than I asked for, telling me I was getting out-of-date Time Warner speed for internet. I was brought up to date with new cable boxes, a new modem/router and new remotes. I had a private company installing new TVs and Sonos equipment, and the Spectrum equipment was installed along with the new hardware. I'm up and running in no time, and I am very happy with how Tony made things so easy. I'm a 61 year old who sometimes has trouble with technology, but Tony was so helpful with my choices being made clear. Tony works for Spectrum, but he also will work for you. 10+ people in line and only one person working. Every time I come here I always end up waiting over an hour to be helped. The customer service here is horrible, the people working here are rude & short with you; they always have horrible attitudes. I've been a spectrum customer my whole life and they aren't willing to help me lower my bill. The pricing is insane for low quality services, plus your prices continue to go up. My mother had Time Warner Cable for several years but they were bought out by Spectrum. Recently she was I'll and in the hospital. I called and put her service into vacation mode. Her bill went from $114 down to $5 a month. This was for cable TV only. My mother did not own a computer. My mom passed away 3 weeks later. I called to cancel her service and their response was "so sorry for your loss but now that she has passed we now have the right to charge her account the full price which is now $157". What?? Are you kidding me!!! I argued a little, the individual on the other end of the line said don't shoot the messenger, this is our policy. I called him a greedy bastard and hung up. I have the same cable service in my home. I will be looking for other options to watch TV once the dust settles after settling my mom's estate. Still can't believe it.
